Good morning. Good morning. All right, let's get into the Bible. Matthew chapter 13. [0:14] Find Matthew chapter 13, and this is exciting. We're getting into the scriptures. I messed this up already. [0:25] There we go. We're going to start our last category of this lengthy study on our adversary, the devil. [0:39] And the last category here, as you can see, his ministers. It's going to be a little off topic of his person and the study of his person, but it's just completely relevant, what we're studying, relevant to his mission, relevant to his methods, the last two parts of the study here. [1:05] And I'd say that this is especially relevant in one major area of activity today in religion. And we're going to find his ministers himself, but through his ministers, very active in the arena of religion on this earth. [1:20] So let's pray together, and then let's get into the text this morning. Father, we do ask that you'll meet with us, that you'll be pleased with us, that you'll cleanse us, that you'll speak to us, and that we'll have ears to hear. [1:34] Please minister to us. Help us to receive the truth. Open our eyes of understanding to what the scriptures teach. Help us, Lord, to take the words at face value and to apply them and understand them, and not just move right over things, but to glean what we can from what you've revealed, and help us to make accurate application. [2:00] And I pray that you'll just teach us in this hour. We ask this in Christ's name. Amen. All right, so Matthew 13, I want you to start there because we're going to point something out here. The Bible consistently likens the Christian life to warfare. [2:16] Can anybody think of a verse or at least a phrase of a verse that backs that up to warfare or to soldiers? Can anybody think of anything at all? I know this is just like... [2:29] Okay, Ephesians 6. That's what you were saying. We rest not against flesh and blood, so against principalities and powers. John, I know you know one. Something better. Not better, but different. [2:41] Was that yours? No. There's one. I think that's 1 Timothy 6. Fight the good fight of faith. Yes? The word of God is quick and power. It's like into a sword. [2:54] Yeah. So there's others. There's endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. And it describes that God called you to be a good soldier. There's another one in 2 Corinthians 10 that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal. [3:12] There's the word warfare. Our warfare. Our weapons are not carnal. And it's a spiritual battle, and there's more. But so, yeah. The Bible likens the Christian life to warfare. [3:22] Now, consider a common practice of warfare, of the past and even the present. Before a nation attacks another nation, they do reconnaissance. [3:34] They gather as much information, intel, on their target, on their enemy. And oftentimes, they send spies. That's a very... I mean, you're talking back in the early... [3:45] I mean, it's all over the nation, or all over the world, really. And not just the United States or Russia. But there's spies, probably today, currently, amongst us. There's spies that one nation will send out. [3:59] And they do it to strategically plant them. And they're preparing. They're using them for a certain objective. And in these cases, the reality is the enemy is living among them, peacefully. [4:16] And everyone's just unknowing of their contact with the enemy itself. And so, they're unsuspectingly working for the adversary and preparing the way. [4:28] Now, I think that thought there should kind of be already triggering your mind to what we're studying here with our adversary. That he has a plan. And he has a future that the Bible describes. [4:41] That some things have got to happen and come together. And it wasn't just but a few years ago that everybody's hollering, COVID might be the mark of the beast. Don't take the shot. Don't get the jab. Because this is the signs of the times. [4:53] And I heard a guy that many of you would have, do you know his name? And you probably even respect him somewhat. He used, I heard him preach that the COVID pandemic was the beginning of sorrows mentioned in Matthew 24. [5:07] And it's not. It's not. But, and you know, if you heard him say that, you'd probably believe him over me. And shame on you. But he's wrong about that. [5:20] He's wrong. Yes, there's, there, there, all, many things are all building a bridge toward the end times. Absolutely. And in this study, we're going to see that Satan's using his ministers. [5:33] He has ministers. And he's using them and preparing the way for what his end goal was going to be, which the Bible describes. So let's look at Matthew 13 here. Just first I want to point out a practice of the enemy. [5:47] Look at verse 24 and 25. This is a parable that Christ puts forth about the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 13, verse 24. Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field. [6:01] But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. Now, I'm not really going to study this thing out. But flip over to verse 37 where this parable is declared. [6:19] The meaning of it. Verse 37. He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the son of man. The field is the world. The good seed are the children of the kingdom. So literally, these are Jews. This is the kingdom of heaven. [6:31] But the tares are the children of the wicked one. The enemy that sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the world. The reapers are the angels and so forth. [6:41] Now, we're not studying this parable and its doctrinal teaching. I'm just showing you the practice. The MO of our adversary, the devil, is to sow his children among the good children or the children of the kingdom in this case. [6:59] He plants his children among God's children. So that's just a practice of his. Not making doctrinal application in Matthew 13 to where we live today. [7:10] But you understand, this is something that he's done or will do in the future. And I say he's doing it today. And it will come quite clear. Today, the church probably matches the children of the kingdom while men slept. [7:27] The church is not being sober like they're commanded to be. They're not being vigilant. They're not studying their scriptures. They're just taking anything in that comes down the way and saying, I like it, this is good, this is for us. [7:41] And if it has the name Jesus or it bears any form of religion, then they just swallow it whole as if it's from God himself. It could be, though, that the enemy is laying groundwork and preparing to overtake the work of Almighty God and to set up his own kingdom. [8:00] He's a real adversary to God. And our adversary is intent upon being worshipped by the entire world. [8:11] The whole thing. How are you going to set your kingdom up? How are you going to get the entire world to worship you? You're not just going to show up and snap your fingers. So he's been laying some groundwork and preparing the way for quite a while. [8:22] And he's going to have a religious setup. And that religious setup is going to unify all peoples of the world to worship him, believe in him, and follow him. [8:34] And I believe he's already sent out what we're calling spies or his ministers into the world's religion to prepare the people of the world to worship him. Now, come over to 2 Corinthians 11. [8:47] And this is kind of where we'll... This is really our launching off point. 2 Corinthians 11. So Matthew 13 was just to show you a practice of the devil. [9:08] And now here's what Paul declares to be fact and truth about his ministers. [9:19] This is a word taken from the text. So verse 13 through 15. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. [9:36] And no marvel, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works. [9:52] So Satan has ministers. You see that in verse 15. His ministers. It's no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness. [10:04] What do you suppose his ministers look like? Who or what are they? You could ask that question in some forum of... [10:18] Well, just put it out to the world or to all Christianity. And I'll bet you'll get some wild responses. I guarantee you'll get some wild responses. The only response that we will accept and that we will study is going to come out of the text of the Bible. [10:35] That's it. Don't tell me you think they're this. Don't tell me you think they're that. Or you heard somebody. You read someone. Don't tell me any of that nonsense unless it's coming out of the pages of Scripture. This is our only authority. [10:47] And it's our only source of truth. And we're not going to just go by what we see and hear. We're going to go by the Bible. So would you be able to spot his ministers if they were visible? [10:59] If they were present today in society, in the world you live in, would you be able to spot them? This might sound a little like, ooh, Satan has ministers and you're telling me that they're out there. [11:11] Why would that surprise you? Why would you even flinch at that when Paul said it's no surprise, no marvel? He's got ministers and they're transforming themselves into the ministers of righteousness. [11:23] Why would you even flinch to think that he has men and women, I'll show you that in a minute, working for him and faking who they really are? [11:36] Well, you shouldn't be surprised. So this final category here, this study is going to focus on learning what the Bible declares, what God has revealed to us from the Word of God about the ministers of Satan. [11:51] And what we're going to do is compare multiple New Testament authors and find that each one that we look at, Paul, John, Jude, Peter, they all just throw in little lines that you'll just walk right by and miss and not realize that, no, that word means something. [12:11] No, that statement is real. It's legitimate. You need to grab a hold of it and read it and study it. Now, we've already learned something, whether you picked it up or not, in this passage that Paul talks about them. [12:24] He says in verse 13, they are false apostles. They're false apostles. The first thing he told us, they're false apostles. Then he says they're deceitful workers and that they're transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. [12:39] So we know, number one, they are not the apostles of Christ, but they're transforming themselves into. These are false apostles. You say, well, that's kind of vague or that doesn't really help me much. [12:51] Actually, it does. One thing you get right away is that these men or these ministers are fakers. They're pretenders. They're building themselves up to be something that they are not and they never will be and never are. [13:06] They're ministers of Satan. Now, let's cross-reference this. Go to Revelation chapter 2. They're false apostles. Revelation chapter 2. [13:20] Be ready and be awake. We're going to turn to some scripture now. Revelation 2. This is the church at Ephesus that's getting commended for their discernment when it comes to false apostles. [13:35] Revelation 2. Verse number 1. Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write, These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks, I know thy works and thy labor and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil. [13:54] And thou hast tried them which say, there's a profession out of their mouth, they say they are apostles and are not, and hast found them liars. [14:06] So, the Lord, the Lord Jesus Christ here, gives a commendation to this church, this body of believers, that are not being deceived. [14:23] And they're trying them out. What they claim to be with their mouth, they're trying them out. And the only thing we can try anything out with is the scriptures. And so, I'd say, without any trouble, they're testing them according to the word of God, and finding out that these false apostles, that these claiming apostles, they're liars. [14:42] They're not what they claim to be. They say they're the apostles, and it's implied the apostles of Christ. What else would it be? They claim to be apostles of Christ. [14:53] They get tested, and they're not. But here's the thing, they believe that they are. Come back to 2 Timothy. 2 Timothy chapter 3. For a man to make a claim that isn't true, either he is a deceiver himself, intentionally a liar, or he himself is deluded or deceived, and thinks he's something that he's not. [15:32] 2 Timothy chapter 3. Notice this verse 13. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. [15:52] Being deceived. Now, don't think this is just talking about ungodly, wicked men out there in the world who just are living in all lasciviousness. [16:05] What Paul does to Timothy is he directs him to close this out to the scriptures. And in verse 17, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished. It's about the scriptures that keep you from being deceived, and having your doctrine straight, and instruction in righteousness. [16:24] So you get the context here. There's evil men and seducers. That word seducer, we'll pull up a verse here sometime, maybe today or next week, that they're seducing spirits. [16:36] in, I think it's 1 Timothy 4. And doctrines of devils. That context is all in this, what Paul's warning Timothy about. Timothy's a pastor at a church in Ephesus. [16:49] He's warning him that there's going to be evil men and seducers. They're deceiving, and they themselves are deceived. They think there's something that they're not. Look at Matthew chapter 7. [17:01] Let's notice a similar case. Matthew chapter 7. This context may not be today, specifically, but it surely isn't far off. [17:18] Matthew 7. And Jesus Christ is warning about false prophets. In verse 15. Beware, he tells them. [17:29] Beware. They're pretending to be something that they're not. They're false prophets. In verse 15. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing. [17:42] That sounds like what Paul warned the church about in Corinthians. They appear, or they transform into ministers of righteousness, but they're not. These false prophets look like sheep, but they're not. [17:56] Inwardly, they are ravening wolves. Later on, he says in verse 21. Notice this. Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father, which is in heaven. [18:12] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, and in thy name have cast out devils, and in thy name done many wonderful works? [18:23] Then will I profess unto them, I never knew you. Depart from me, ye that work iniquity. They're workers. [18:34] They're working iniquity. Paul said they're deceitful workers. False apostles. Here he calls them false prophets. It's a very similar setup here. [18:45] Very similar case. They think they're the ministers of righteousness. They're working miracles even. Wonderful works in the name of Jesus. So much so that it would deceive pretty much 95% of men and women that claim the name of Christ. [19:02] Because if you say Jesus, you have to be a Christian, right? If you say the name of Jesus, you have to believe in him, right? And believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. And without any discernment, somebody says the name of Jesus, and does a little dance, and we, they must be saved. [19:21] And yet here they are, and I want you to see this clearly. Christ is speaking in verse 22. Many will say to me in that day. Now this is a future day, and I'm not trying to, again, get the doctrinal application of, of specifically. [19:37] But they're saying to me, we've prophesied, we've done things in thy name. That's the name of Jesus Christ. And while they claim the name of Jesus Christ, they themselves are not ministers of righteousness. [19:50] They're deceived. So don't be fooled. Satan has ministers. They're deceived. They're fakers. And they're pretenders. [20:01] And they're even doing wonderful works. They have works to display who they are. And they think they're the ministers of righteousness. So they are deceived, but you have a Bible. [20:17] You have a Bible. This is so important. Everything and everyone must be weighed, must be tried, must be proven from your Bible. [20:27] Don't ever slip by that. Don't ever just let it go. Don't ever just listen to what they say. Oh, it's pretty good. Weigh it from the scriptures. We'll study this out as, as detailed as we can, and build this as strong as we can, this fortress, that builds up the, to protect ourselves, to give us understanding, because so many are deceived today, and have no clue, that their adversary, the devil, has been pulling one over on them. [20:58] And he's doing a good job of it. So it is of the utmost importance, that you know your Bible. Not just, I know where the book of Psalms is. [21:09] Good for you. Good start. But you need to know what the text says. When we look at these verses, I've already probably pointed some things out, and made some connections. [21:21] You can make those on your own. These false prophets, or just the scenario in Matthew 7, how it very clearly matches, what Paul says in 2 Corinthians 11. How these are very similar cases. [21:34] You can make those connections. Know your Bible. Spend time in it, and you won't be deceived. Now, we're already off to a good start here, so, now we're going to dig in. Go to 2 Peter, chapter number 2. [21:48] Peter's really going to be the first author, that we start to dissect here, in his warnings, and his revelation, about his ministers. [22:06] 2 Peter chapter 2. We have an entire chapter. We are not going to go point by point, word by word. But we'll pull out certain things, and very easily, make connection to things, that the apostle Paul warned about, and show they're the same thing. [22:26] They're the same people. So, 2 Peter chapter number 2, and begin in verse number 1. 2 Peter chapter 1. 2 Peter chapter 1. 2 Peter chapter 1. [22:36] 3 Peter chapter 1. But there were false prophets. That's past tense, right? That's back in the day. There were, also among the people. [22:46] That's the Old Testament, Peter reminding, there were false prophets, and Moses warned about them, and Deuteronomy, and Christ even warned about them, coming back around. So, verse 1, but there were false prophets, also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers, among you, among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. [23:17] Peter calls them false teachers. The word that we're pulling out here, that he focuses and uses, the holy word, the pure word, is teachers. [23:33] There shall be teachers. False teachers, to be more specific, but nonetheless, they're identified as teachers. Now, from verse 1, to verse 22, the entire chapter, is talking about those teachers. [23:51] And it never goes back, and refers to them again, as teachers, but rather as, just the pronoun, them. Like at the end of verse 1, bring upon themselves, swift destructions. [24:03] Verse 2, many shall follow their, pernicious ways. Verse 3, through covetousness, shall they, and you're going to find, they, their, them, themselves, the entire chapter, all the way to the end. [24:18] Look at verse 22, but it has happened unto them. Verse 19, while they promise them, they promise themselves, them liberty, they themselves, are the servants of corruption. [24:30] So, the entire chapter, you get that? Verse 1's key, that he's talking about false teachers, and then the whole chapter, expounds upon them. One, one note I must give you here, back at the very last verse, verse 22, in closing this chapter on them, he says, but it has happened unto them, according to the true proverb, the dog has returned, to his own vomit again, and the sow that was washed, to her wallowing in the mire. [25:01] Now, this may be taking, a little bit of liberty, I don't know, but I don't have a problem, with this at all. He uses they, false teachers, they, them, and he never describes, too clearly, but when he gets to verse 22, the them, is likened unto, a dog, returning to his, masculine, and the sow, that was washed, to her, wallowing, his and her. [25:30] The them, is likened, or being applied, that proverb, is being applied, directly to, these, as men and women. That's what I believe, that is. [25:41] And, you could say, well no, he's just taking the proverb, the proverb is what it is, just plugging it in, and saying, that's the truth, the proverb is what's being expounded. You could argue that, if you want, I'm, I can't argue beyond, what I'm just telling you. [25:56] I think it's men, and women, because you can see, the his and the her, in verse 22. These teachers, are men and women. I'll back it up. [26:06] As a matter of fact, I believe likely, it's primarily men, as is the case, in the world today, but be on the lookout, for women. What did Paul say, about women? [26:18] We even read the verse, last week, I suffer not a woman, to teach. And yet, here comes teachers, false teachers. The last office, given to the body, of Christ, in Ephesians chapter 4, are was pastors, and teachers. [26:35] And these, false teachers, show up, to fulfill, or to imitate, the latter half, of that office. Because in the last days, that's all they're, going to want anyway. [26:47] What did Paul tell us, about that? Look at 2nd, Timothy chapter 4. You can keep your place, in Peter. Go to 2nd, Timothy chapter 4. When you study, the scripture, and you pay attention, to the very words, of the scripture, you'll get some light. [27:14] And this book, is flawless. And it's more than just, a perfect rendition, of God's words. It is just, screaming with truth. It is just, screaming with light, if you'll study it. [27:29] So, they're teachers, false teachers. The office, was pastors, and teachers. But nobody, wants pastors. They just want to, they want to hear a speaker. They'll go to hear a speaker. [27:41] Our special speaker, today. Look at chapter 4. And, I'll start in verse 1. I charge thee therefore, before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick, and the dead, and is appearing, in his kingdom. [27:57] Preach the word. Be instant, in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering, and doctrine. For the time will come, when they will not, endure sound doctrine. [28:09] But after their own lusts, shall they heap to themselves, teachers, having itching ears. And they shall turn away, their ears, from the truth, and shall be turned, unto fables. [28:22] So, something that's not true. Interesting. In the last days, the time will come. In the last days, it's in verse, chapter 3, talks about the last days, chapter 3, in verse 1. [28:36] And in chapter 3, in verse 1, that in the last days, perilous times shall come. Later, he says in verse 7, they're ever learning, and never able to come, to the knowledge of the truth. [28:50] They're surrounding themselves, with, they're resisting the truth, in verse 8. Yet, corrupt minds, instead, that are reprobate, concerning the truth, in verse 8. [29:01] So, they want teachers. And it's after their own lusts, that they're getting these teachers. The teachers aren't just, so terrible themselves, that's what man wants. [29:14] They're popular for a reason. Now, pastors and teachers, is the office. But teachers, is the thing we're warned of, and cautioned about. [29:27] And, that's what the body of Christ, is going to go after, is teachers. And Peter warns, the false teachers, that slip in, or they're crept in, it says, they privily, shall bring in, damnable heresies. [29:40] I think it's Jude, that says, they're crept in unawares. And so, they're sneaking around, that's something, I'm getting ahead of myself. In the last days, all they're going to want anyway. [29:54] Nobody wants to submit, to a pastor. Nobody wants to admit, that God calls a man, and sets him up, to be a leader, and a head. But instead, what people say is, well, I can just get online, and learn that. [30:07] I can listen to that, on YouTube, or I can, I've got my own, YouTube church, or you know, it's just going that direction, little by little, creeping that direction, to where, what was once revered, and please, don't ever get, this wrong, it's hard to say, some of this as a man, but, the position once, was called reverend, because it was revered, as an office, that God gave, to the body of Christ, and it wasn't, it shouldn't have ever been, the man himself, but it's the office, and the fact, that God calls a man, places him, into the ministry, enables him, and empowers him, and instructs him, and leads him, all the way through, it's a working of God, the way God saw fit, to set it up, it's being undermined, it's being little by little, stripped down, to where that side is gone, but we want this instead, and we'll heap to ourselves, the teachers, I'll just give you an example, of this, this is kind of a, little bit off topic, slightly, but, it's kind of the, the difference between, preaching and teaching, where, teaching or just, certain teaching, exploring new things, making connections, getting enlightened, that's intriguing, preaching, that is rebuking, that is putting down, that's what Paul told Timothy, preach the word, and to reprove, and to rebuke, and exhort, those are the things, that kind of, they scrape against you, they don't, you don't come to church, because I want to get, my face ripped off, or because I want to be told, who I am, and exposed, and have to deal with it, and be confronted, but rather, if I can learn something, that's interesting, [31:50] I'll be, I'm interested in hearing, more about that, we had a revival meeting, at our church, some years ago, by a phenomenal speaker, in my opinion, very convicting preacher, and one of the best, I've ever heard, and the church, had heard him before, and he was coming, to preach a meeting, and the attendance, for that meeting, was moderate, at the best, average, if that, for the, for the, what I would say, the caliber of preacher, and preaching, and the scripture, and the, the force behind it, and the, the conviction in it, people just didn't want to hear it, they weren't coming, they weren't inviting friends, you know, if it was somebody, that was a little flashier, maybe that, could put on a big presentation, and dance around, and jump on the pews, and scream, well that's a little different, that's more of an entertaining, factor to it, people might have come, for that, but, a month went by, and we had another speaker, come in, and this guy, was a, a creation, seminar, host, and I like those guys, [33:01] I do, I like, I was considering, trying to get one out here, for doing a weekend, of that, but what I noticed, was, while the church, barely attended, the preaching, it was not a conference, it was not a prophecy conference, it was not a dispensational, truth conference, where you're going to learn, learn, learn, it was just preaching, the word of God, the people didn't come, but when we had, the dinosaur guy come, the place was packed, the church was packed, I'm talking about, hundreds of people came, and they sat for, guess how, three hours, each night, they couldn't get enough, they bought, all of his DVDs, what a difference, to me, is so eye opening, to what the body, of Christ wants, they don't want, preaching, of the scriptures, that convicts their heart, that reveals their sin, that draws them to God, they want to hear, something interesting, oh that's neat, oh I like, when he kicks, those evolutionists, that's good stuff, gets you a little excited, [34:10] I think it's, it's crept in brethren, it's crept in all right, check yourself, right there, now, they're teachers, preaching gets despised, nobody gets confronted, with their sin, they're not reproved, and their heart's not pricked, so they like teachers, that they heap to themselves, of their own lusts, come back to Peter, 2nd Peter, chapter 2, 2nd Peter chapter 2, now please don't, misimply, that I'm suggesting, that anybody, that has some creation ministry, is a teacher, a minister of the devil, I'm not implying that, but I do have some thoughts, about some of that, 2nd Peter chapter 2, and verse number 1, it says, there were false prophets, also among the people, even as there shall be, false teachers among you, notice what he says, who privily, shall bring in, damnable heresies, false teachers, so, a mark, of these false teachers, is their false teaching, they're bringing it in, to the church, to the saved, to the house of God, to the body of Christ, bringing in heresies, my, my, my, my, we are not going to have time, for this now, but I'll at least turn you, to this last passage, go back to 1st Timothy 4, [35:54] I mentioned this earlier, 1st Timothy 4, just going to be able, to touch on this, and then we'll pick it up, next Sunday, in this place, in 1st Timothy 4, notice, the first few verses here, now the spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall depart, from the faith, giving heed, to seducing spirits, and doctrines, of devils, doctrines, doctrines are teachings, Timothy was told, to take heed, to the doctrine, that's in verse 16, he was told, to preach the word, and to reprove, and rebuke, resort with all long suffering, and doctrine, why, because the time will come, when they will not endure, sound doctrine, they're going to be, led away, they're going to have, spirits that seduce them, with other doctrines, in verse 2, speaking lies, like those false apostles, were found liars, speaking lies, and hypocrisy, having their conscience, seared with a hot iron, verse 3, says, forbidding, to marry, that's a doctrine, and commanding, to abstain, from meats, which God hath created, to be received, with thanksgiving, and then which believe, and know the truth, that's important, but there's another, false doctrine, or a doctrine, of devils, is commanding, to abstain, from meats, priests, now that sounds, an awful lot, like the Roman Catholic Church, right away, on the surface, they forbid, their priests to marry, they claim, of course, they make a holy claim, out of this, but Paul just calls it, what it is, forbidding to marry, it's not a command of God, the Old Testament priest, married, the Levitical priesthood, married, how do you think, the high priest, had a son, that had a son, that had a son, yeah they married, and yet the Roman Catholic Church, of our day, decided to adopt, the Levitical priesthood, but shave off, some of it, and then add to it, some other things, which they don't have, any scripture for, the only thing they could do, is try to take, what Paul said, in verse Corinthians 7, about, he that is married, cared for the things, of the world, [38:21] I would that you, would remain as I, being unmarried, they claim, that they have devoted, their lives to God, and I don't want, to spend any time, in this, but do, you could read some, there's plenty, of sources out there, plenty of resources, to know, what kind of lifestyle, that brings on, when a man, makes a choice, to remain celibate, and give himself, to God, in the ministry, it doesn't work, it doesn't work at all, he's, he's, man, on his own, is incapable, I'll just, leave it at that, so then, commanding to abstain, from meats, that sounds like them, on certain days, but also, that sounds like, some other denominations, as well, that abstain, or they try to follow, in line with the, Old Testament practice, of abstaining from pork, and anything, that's considered unclean, but, while we're here, in closing, notice what God, [39:22] God's, or, yeah, the spirit speaketh, in verse number four, every creature, of God, is good, except for those, under the law, that are considered unclean, no, every creature, of God, is good, and nothing, to be refused, if it be received, with thanksgiving, that's the only condition, the other condition, if it's a condition, is just your mind, it's in verse three, that you believe, and know the truth, when you know the truth, the truth shall set you free, or make you free, and verse five says, it's sanctified, why would it need, to be sanctified, because it was unclean, but now it's sanctified, by the word of God, he's declared it, to be sanctified, rise Peter, kill and eat, not so Lord, nothing common, or unclean, Peter I'm telling you, what God hath cleansed, is sanctified, by the word of God, all right, so, that's just a rebuke, of the false doctrine, but we'll get into this, next week, because what this, these, they're privily, bringing in, heresies, damnable heresies, false teachers, bringing in, false doctrine, no surprise, but some of these, teachings, and even just, this little, little glimpse, that Paul gives Timothy, here in verse, in chapter four, sounds like the cults, that are in this world today, and so next week, [40:58] I'm going to point out, just a few quick things, about cults, and I'm not going to spend time, studying individual cults, I'm not going down, that road here, but just be very broad, and make a very, a blanket statement, that is true, about every cult, and, then we'll be able, to move forward, by learning, about his ministers, so we'll have to stop, with this, and come back to it, next Sunday, let's take a break, Thank you.
