[0:00] Well, both of you, I'm glad you're happy about it. Good to be in church? I'm not asking nothing else. Hope you had breakfast this morning. I want you to open your Bibles to Genesis chapter 12. [0:12] Genesis chapter 12. In your Bible, you have, it's in two sections. It's called the Old Testament and the New Testament. And some folks, and it's not like they're evil or anything, just misapplication. [0:29] Misapplication. Was this not? Okay. Anyway, just a misapplication. Some people call, you've heard about the Old Testament or the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. [0:42] And some folks think that the Old Testament is the Old Covenant and the New Testament is the New Covenant. And that is in error. The Old Testament are the 39 books that we call the Old Testament. [0:54] The New Testament are the 27 that we call the New Testament. The Old Covenant and the New Covenant are two different things. Look at verse 1. [1:05] Genesis chapter 12, verse 1. Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred and from thy father's house unto a land that I will show thee. And I will make of thee a great nation. [1:16] And I will bless thee. Make thy name great and thou shalt be a blessing. And I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee. And in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed. Guys, that is the Abrahamic covenant. [1:29] That is where God arbitrarily, you say, why did he pick Abraham? When you get up here, you can ask him. Because I don't know. But he picked Abraham. And he makes this promise. [1:40] And it's called the Abrahamic covenant. Now take a look at chapter 17. Genesis chapter 17. And in Genesis chapter 17, what's going to happen to that covenant? [1:55] Look at verse 19. And God said, Sarah, thy wife, shall bear thee a son indeed. And thou shalt call his name Isaac. And I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant. [2:07] And with his seed after him. Keep on going. For 20, as for Ishmael. I have heard thee, behold. I have blessed him, and I will make him fruitful. [2:18] And I will multiply him exceedingly. Twelve princes shall he beget. And I will make him a great nation. But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year. [2:31] So God gave the covenant to Abraham in Genesis chapter 12. And in Genesis chapter 17, it confirms that he passed it on to Isaac. [2:42] And the reason I say that is because there's a teaching today. And that teaching is called replacement theology. And that is that we Christians have replaced the Jews. The Jews have been, God has cut them off. [2:55] And, you know, he's now established that covenant with us. He said I'd make it. Now look at verse 19 again. About the middle of it. I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant. [3:06] Guys, doesn't everlasting sound like it's everlasting? And if you want to know, you've got to think about something, okay? If you want to start pulling that covenant away from Israel, then you're saying their everlasting covenant was not everlasting, correct? [3:26] Didn't you get everlasting life? Well, everlasting better mean everlasting, okay? So it goes from Isaac and it passes on to Israel. [3:36] I'm sorry, to Isaac. Now from Abraham to Isaac. Now look at Genesis chapter 27. Now Isaac is an old man. [3:52] And that covenant has to be passed on to one of his sons. There's the eldest, Esau, and the youngest, Jacob. And you know this story, or you should know this story. [4:03] This is where Esau tells, I mean, Isaac tells Esau, go out there and get me some venison. And when you come in, you cook that venison up for me, then I'm going to bless you. And Jacob disguises himself as Esau. [4:18] And look what it says. Verse, oh, verse 26. And after Isaac said unto him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son. [4:29] And he came near, and kissed him, and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of the field which the Lord hath blessed. Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine. [4:44] Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee. Be Lord over thy brethren, and thy mother's sons bow down to thee. Cursed be everyone that cursed thee, and blessed be he that blessed thee. [4:57] So there's a blessing that he just gave to Jacob, correct? That he intended to give to Esau. And here's what a lot of people say. They say, well, see, that's it. [5:08] Jacob stole the Abrahamic blessing. Actually, he did not. Nothing that you read there is what God promised Abraham. In fact, take a look at verse 34. [5:21] When Esau heard it, that Jacob had done this, when Esau heard it, heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, my father. [5:33] And he said, Thy brother came with subtlety, and hath taken away thy blessing. And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? This is Esau talking. For he had supplanted me these two times. [5:45] He took away my birthright. Well, guys, he didn't exactly take away his birthright. I mean, have you ever bought something or sold something, and you had buyer's regret or seller's regret? [5:57] And I would assume, you know, if you sold your birthright, you might have seller's regret. But that's what he did. He sold it. He didn't sell it for much. A bowl of bean soup. But he sold it. [6:09] He had taken away my, and middle of verse 36, And behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me? And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren. [6:24] I forgive thee to servants. And with corn and wine have I sustained him. What shall I do now unto thee, my son? And Esau said to his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? [6:35] Bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice and wept. And Isaac, his father, answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth and of the dew of heaven from above. [6:49] And by the sword shalt thou live and shalt serve thy brothers come to pass when thou shalt have dominion that thou shalt break his yoke from off thee. So he gives kind of Esau what we'd call, you ever hear about the consolation prize? [7:03] You didn't get the first prize, you got the consolation prize? So he kind of gives him a consolation blessing. But look at the next chapter. And in chapter 28, it says this, And Isaac called Jacob and blessed him and charged him and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaanites. [7:22] Arise, go to Paddan Aram, to the house of Bethuel, thy mother's father, and take thee a wife from hence of the daughters of Laban, thy mother's brother. Now watch. And God Almighty bless thee and make thee fruitful and multiply thee that thou mayest be a multitude of people and give thee the blessing of Abraham to thee and to thy seed with thee that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger which God gave unto Abraham. [7:51] So the fact is, guys, God gave Abraham that covenant. He passed it on to Isaac in chapter 17. And when Isaac was going to bless Esau, he never intended. [8:03] Didn't he bless Jacob thinking he was Esau? So that was the blessing he would have given. And that blessing was separate from this. So Jacob stole a blessing, and really Esau said it right. [8:17] He said, now he stole my blessing. Well, he did. He did steal his blessing. But he didn't steal the Abrahamic blessing because even while he thought he was blessing Esau, Isaac was holding that in reserve. [8:28] And look at what it says in verse 4. That's the first time you see it projected out into the future. [8:41] He said he gave it to Abraham, and he doesn't say anything about it, you know, other than saying, I'll bless thee, make thee a great nation. And then he says, I'm going to pass it on to Isaac. And with Isaac, it's given to Jacob. [8:52] It's passed on to him. And he says, and to thy seed. In other words, this is not stopping with you, Jacob. It is going to go on. Look at Exodus chapter 2. [9:12] And Exodus chapter 2. And look at verse 24. This is where the children of Israel, of course, are in slavery in Egypt. [9:26] And it says, verse 24, And God heard their groaning, And he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. [9:37] And looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them. So now, it was when God saw Abraham, he saw who he blessed. And then when he saw Isaac, he saw who he blessed. [9:48] When he saw Jacob, he saw who he blessed. Now he looks at Israel corporately, and sees who he blessed. So that covenant has passed on to them. Take a look at Leviticus chapter 26. [10:06] Leviticus chapter 26. And here again, he's talking about Israel, but he sees that covenant as being a corporate covenant for the nation of Israel. [10:23] Verse 42. Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham, will I remember, and I will remember the land. [10:33] So that is the old covenant. Okay? That is what we would call the old covenant. It was given to Abraham. It was officially by God, passed on to Isaac. It was officially by Jacob, by God, passed on to, I'm sorry, from Isaac to Jacob. [10:50] And then it is corporate for all Israel. There is nothing in the Bible that God says he has ever rescinded that covenant. Okay? But now you hear people talk about the new covenant. [11:01] And again, I'm doing a work on some manuscripts and stuff. And I got a list of English Bibles. And I think, you know, because people probably people say there's like 200 English Bibles or 300. [11:14] There's actually 614 have been translated. And that being said, first eight were old English. You couldn't read that. And then the next eight were old, or middle English. [11:27] You couldn't read that. But the remainder, you know, like some of them was the book of Psalms. You know, early on, they didn't translate the whole Bible. But some portion of Scripture in the early days. [11:38] And some of them, you know, like a lot of times when they bring out a translation, they bring out the New Testament. And then they bring out the Old Testament later. Some of them are called the new covenant for the New Testament. [11:50] Or when they do the Old Testament, they call it the old covenant. And that is an error. Here's what happens with the new covenant. Now take a look at Ezekiel. Ezekiel chapter 37. [12:00] Ezekiel 37. Ezekiel 37. And as we study what we're going to be looking at now, keep in mind and watch. [12:23] Because a lot of people say this. Well, you know, the New Testament's for us. We don't have to read the Old Testament. Just forget the Old Testament. It doesn't matter. If God wrote it, it matters. All right? [12:34] But what you begin to see when you study the new covenant, and the new covenant has not been made yet. But when you study the new covenant, you begin to see how much future, how much prophecy is in the Old Testament. [12:49] Look at Ezekiel chapter 37. And look at verse 21. And saying to them, Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, where they have gone, and gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land. [13:09] Guys, that has not happened yet. A lot of Jews have gone back to what we call Palestine or Israel today. But he has not gathered them all together yet. [13:21] Verse 22. And I'll make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel. And one king shall be king over all. And they shall be no more two nations. Neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all. [13:35] Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, for with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions. But I will save them out of all their dwelling places, wherein I have sinned, and will cleanse them, so they shall be my people, and I will be their God. [13:54] So this is a future promise to Israel. He said, I'm going to gather all of Israel from around the world. I'm going to put them back in the land. And then he says, I'm going to cleanse them, and they're going to be my people, and I'm going to be their God. [14:06] Look at verse 24. And David, my servant, shall be king over them. You say, David's dead. Well, nobody's dead if God don't want you to be. I mean, really, isn't that a fact? [14:19] Can God raise the dead? I think he can. In fact, I'm pretty sure he's got a corner on that market. And so he is actually going to raise David from the dead and make them king over Israel. [14:32] I don't know if you noticed, but that hasn't happened yet. All right? Take a look at Jeremiah chapter 31. And I'll just give you a little heads up on this. In promises about the new covenant to Israel, they are, you read Jeremiah, if you keep your eyes open, you'll be tripping over them. [14:53] They are all over the book of Jeremiah. We're not going to look at all of those because you do have to eat sometime today. But Jeremiah chapter 31, and look at verse 31. [15:08] Behold, the days come. Wait, wait. Behold, the days come. When you hear the days come, what's that tell you? They're not here now. This is future. This is prophecy. [15:18] Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. [15:28] So now he's talking about a new covenant, not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, which my covenant, they break, although I was a husband unto them, saith the Lord. [15:45] But this shall be my covenant that I will make with the house of Israel. After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts and write it in their hearts. [15:56] And I will be their God and they shall be my people. And they will teach no more every man his neighbor and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord, for they shall all know me from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord. [16:11] And I will forgive their iniquity and I will remember their sin no more. I want you to remember just basically the idea of what you read in verses 33 and 34. But he said, I'm going to bring Israel back in the land. [16:23] Now, you guys know what the Ten Commandments are. And where did God write those? On stone. And of course, hey, you know, did you hear anybody say, I don't believe in double inspiration? [16:37] I said, well, really Ten Commandments you do. Because Moses is the only guy in history that is known to have broken all Ten Commandments on the same day. But they were written on stone. [16:48] And maybe you, you know, maybe I go to your house and you got a picture of the Ten Commandments. Sometimes I go in a church and the Ten Commandments are on a wall. But see, this has been our problem. Is our problem not that we have to go to the Ten Commandments and go, oh yeah, I'm not allowed to do that. [17:00] I can't do that. I can't do that. Which is all good. But he said, but that's the problem. They're hanging on the wall. And we're trying to get them in our heads, in our hearts. He said, when I make a new covenant with Israel, I'm not writing them on stone. [17:14] I'm writing them on their heart. He said, no one will tell a Jew, you need to know the Lord. They'll all know me. You say, well the Jews know the Lord today. You know, that they all recognize not Jesus Christ, but they recognize God. [17:27] Actually, they don't. They don't all. I was, there's a, I never, ever, I gotta write this down somewhere. I never remember the name. Gipper, what's the name of that six CD set, or DVD set? [17:40] Beyond All, Odds. Okay. If you can find it, it's a, it's a CD set, six of them, DVD I mean. And it's videos, it's called, Beyond All Odds. [17:52] And a secular Jewish reporter from New York went over to Israel and he just documented some biblical, but mostly modern times. [18:04] Modern times, miraculous deliverances of Israel. I don't know if you, if you know this or aware of it, but the modern state of Israel came into, came into existence on May 14th, 1948. [18:15] Not the next day. On that afternoon, 14 Arab nations declared war on Israel. This country was an hour old and, now try this, man. [18:27] Can anybody, can any one man here whip 14 people? Okay, I'm talking about unarmed. Okay, now I can whip 14 guys if they didn't have any arms. But, 14 nations declared war on Israel and they said what they had been saying for decades. [18:44] We're going to push them into the ocean, push them into the sea, they're going to be over. And they defeat them all. But, one of the incidents it's talking about, these Jews were facing these Arabs and they knew the Arabs were about to attack and these Jews are going down the line and one guy says, how many bullets you got? [19:01] He goes, I got one. He goes, I got two. How many you got? Oh, I'm out. How many you got? I got two. And there weren't a handful of bullets that all these Jews had and so they knew they were going to die and they said, all of a sudden these Arabs stood up and screamed and turned around and ran. [19:20] They just left. They never understood it. Well, 20 years later, again, if you're aware of your history, in 1968, there was what is known as the Six Day War when Israel whipped. Kind of did a rematch of that and they beat all these Arab countries in six days. [19:38] And this Jew, an older man who had been in that battle where the Arabs ran. He was talking to another Jew about, we were about to be able to run and for some reason these Arabs jumped up and ran off and there was an old Arab man sitting there and he goes, you were at that battle? [19:56] He goes, yeah, I was at that battle. He goes, so was I. He said, I'm one of the Arabs that was facing you. He goes, yeah. He goes, why'd you guys run? He said, didn't you see him? He said, see who? [20:08] He said, Abraham. We saw Abraham standing behind you guys about 50 feet tall and we took off running. A miraculous delivery. It tells about, it tells about a Jewish tanker. [20:22] I'm talking about a guy in a tank in the 1973 Yom Kippur War and this man was miraculously saved when his tank was knocked out. [20:34] and this Jew that was miraculously saved, he's, now God saved him, saved his life and he's telling this reporter, I am a secular Jew. [20:45] I don't believe the Bible. He's one of the people of the Bible, correct? But what I'm saying is, you know what he needs to do? He needs to know the Lord. I mean, he needs to know, he needs to know Israel's God and then he needs to take the total step to Jesus Christ, correct? [21:02] But he didn't even acknowledge his God and so that's what God's talking about. He said, nobody's gonna, you know, you go to Israel now and you say, you guys gotta know God. I know there's some Orthodox Jews there but there are a lot of secular Jews. [21:13] They need to know God. They won't have to after the New Covenant. God's gonna write it in here. Take a look at chapter 32, Jeremiah 32 and look at verse 37. [21:31] Behold, I will gather them out of all countries. Okay? I will. That's future and that has not happened yet. I used to say that, because this used to be true, there are more Jews today in New York City than in the nation of Israel. [21:47] Proper. But I had a guy tell me that actually now there are more Jews in Israel than New York so I guess gotta immigrate back. But, he hasn't brought them all out. [21:58] So he says, Behold, I will gather them out of all countries whither I have driven them in my anger and in my fury and great wrath and I will bring them again unto this land and I will cause them to dwell safely. [22:14] Anybody that would like to say the Jews in the land of Israel right now is a fulfillment of this prophecy, would anybody like to claim they dwell safely? They don't know when they walk out in the morning if they're not gonna be killed that night. [22:28] We were over in Israel in 2014 and we were touring it, you know, and you remember reading about when Jeroboam set up a golden calf up in Dan? [22:43] Now, have you ever seen a house where a house used to be and it's all filled in with grass but you can see the foundation of the house through the grass? The foundation of that complex is still there. [22:55] It's about a foot above the ground. All the walls are gone but you can just, it'd be like cutting your house down to about one foot tall and you could walk through all the rooms of your house by following what is left and the foundation of that facility is still there and the platform that that golden calf was on is still there and so we're standing there looking at it and there was a Jewish high school that was doing a tour. [23:23] So here's these high school students touring this thing in Israel high school students with their M16s over their shoulder. [23:34] I didn't say the teachers I said the students. They're carrying M16s. Say why? Because they never know if somebody's not going to try to kill them. So no one could pretend that Israel today in the land is dwelling safely. [23:49] 36 wait a second I'm sorry 38 and they shall be my people and I will be their God. Again notice how he said that before they're going to be my people and I'm going to be their God and I will give them one heart and one way that they may fear me forever for the good of them and for their children after them and I will make there it is an everlasting covenant with them. [24:16] Look if God said I will make an everlasting covenant it hasn't happened yet. So I will make an everlasting covenant with them that I will not turn away from them to do them good but I will put my fear in their hearts and they shall not depart from me. [24:32] Look at chapter 50. Jeremiah chapter 50. When I was a pastor I led this guy to the Lord. [24:46] He came to visit our church of all things on New Years Night. It was December 31st 1983. He actually got saved about 10 minutes after. [24:58] He was probably the first guy in 1984 that got saved. This guy was a big tall guy, big bearded guy and he was a member of the militia and that's those guys you know they go running through the woods and pretend they're playing cowboys and Indians or army or whatever and I don't know if you ever heard this but you ever hear me say this about you know talking about the left wing we know what the left wing is we know what the right wing is and we say yeah they're in the left so we need to be in the right and I heard somebody say it this way and if you read your Bible Deuteronomy chapter 17 about verse 18 and 19 it says if you read your Bible you will not turn to the left or the right and here's the problem with the left wing and the right wing they're both flapping on the same bird isn't that true so you think about it when this when this bird is out like this aren't the wingtips as far from each other as they can be yeah so so on the left wing they think gun control is them coming to your house and taking your gun not theirs but yours on the right wing they think gun control is hitting what you aim at on the left wing or the right wing they they think if you want money you get a job on the left wing they think if you want money you take it from the guy on the right wing on the left wing they think you kill unborn babies abortion is murder on the right way on the left wing they think it's good business and so but but if you start at those those wingtips you're working toward the center aren't you and don't those wings meet let me tell you where the left wing and the right wing meet let me tell you what what both the left wing I'm talking about liberals commies everything else and the right wing national socialists and and patriots everything else they both hate [26:46] Israel they both hate Israel and this guy that I led to Christ he was he was as far from a commie as you'd ever want to see and he told me it was several years I he you know he got saved I mean the guy got in church boom and has been in church every Sunday since and and he said preacher the one thing you preach that I had a hard time with after I got saved was not hating Israel but someday they're going to be in the land and God's going to make a new covenant and they will be his people chapter 50 and look at verse 4 in those days in that time almost sounds future doesn't it saith the Lord the children of Israel shall shall come they and the children of Judah together going and weeping they shall go and seek the Lord their God and they shall ask the way to Zion with their faces to the word saying come let us join ourselves to the Lord in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten my people have been lost sheep their shepherds have caused them to go astray but they they turned them away on mountains they have gone from mountain to hill they have forgotten their resting place that's where [28:02] Israel is today but the two verses before it says one of these days Israel is going to come back take a look at Isaiah chapter 61 back to Isaiah chapter 61 now I'll be honest with you I'm not I'm not a I'm not good at trading but I know guys are traders I don't mean I don't I'm not talking about the guy in the white house I'm talking about traders okay no T in it but a D I'll trade you this for that and I know guys they barter and they trade and I'm not good at that and maybe you're not good at that but I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna show you a deal what God is going to offer if you're willing to trade look at verse 1 and as you might think is well I don't have anything of value to trade well let's find out Isaiah chapter 61 verse 1 the spirit of the Lord God is upon thee because the [29:03] Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to them that are bound to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance of our God to comfort all that mourn to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion to give them beauty for ashes now that doesn't sound like a very fair trade but all God wants he says you want beauty yeah but I you know I am I don't have anything I don't have any money well I'll tell you what you do you bring me the ashes of your life and I trade you beauty you say I'd be an unfair trade that's God's terms you're not making those terms that's the terms God's making I'll give you beauty for ashes the oil of joy for mourning probably everybody in here has mourned over something you've mourned over the death of somebody in your family you've mourned over the death of somebody that you love you might be mourning over the condition of our country you mourned over some happenstance in your life if you've ever mourned he said bring your mourning to me and I give you joy guys this is not a bad trade and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness you ever felt heavy you ever felt like somebody just added about 50 pounds to each leg I mean something happens you like you can't go God says no he says so you're saying oh you know I don't have anything of value all I got is ashes and all I got is heaviness and all I got is mourning he says yeah that's good enough for me and he said you bring me your heaviness and I'll give you the garment of praise that that might be called the trees of righteousness the planting of the [30:51] Lord that he might be glorified they shall build the old waters they shall raise up former desolations they shall repair the wasted the way cities the desolations of many generations so let me look through here and it's just oh look at verse 8 that's what it was for I the Lord love judgment I hate robbery for burnt offering and I will direct their way in truth and I will make and there it is everlasting covenant with them so this is God again saying I'm going to make a good covenant with you now let's go back to Hebrews chapter 8 and I'm going to tell you a scripture that I have over the decades consistently misapplied and I know you say well you shouldn't misapply scripture yeah but I like to do this one look at Hebrews chapter 8 and verse 12 I'll lead somebody to Christ and I'll quote verse 12 for I'll be merciful to their unrighteousness and their unrighteousness and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more isn't that true when somebody gets saved isn't that basically the same truth of 2nd Corinthians chapter 5 verse 17 therefore if any man be in Christ he's new creature old things are passed away behold all things become new I show guys that that one after I leave them to Christ which is totally out of context look back to verse 8 Hebrews chapter 8 verse 8 for finding fault with them he said behold the days come guys this is [32:28] New Testament and the promise that he promised we read back in Jeremiah is still in the future finding fault behold the days come saith the Lord when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah now do you know he's talking about which how do you know keep reading not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers and day when I took them out of the land the hand of to lead them out of the land of Egypt because they continued not in my covenant and I regarded them not saith the Lord for this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days saith the Lord I will put my laws into their mind and write them in their hearts and I will be to them a God and they shall be to me a people and they shall not teach every man his neighbor and every man his brother saying know the Lord for all shall know me from the least to the greatest for I will be merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more for that in that he saith a new covenant he hath made the old of the first old now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away so in context that is a that is a future promise of what God is going to do to the nation of Israel he said I'm going to bring it back to the land I'm going to take my law I'm not going to give to on stone I'm not going to give it to one paper they're not going to hang it on their wall I'm going to write it on their heart but wouldn't that be nice you know you guys you you know you don't have to take commandments tell you kind of what you already knew like little things like thou shalt not kill thou shalt not steal thou shalt not commit adultery cover thy neighbor's goods cover thy neighbor's wife I mean you already knew that now we we we drag our feet on thou shalt worship worship the Lord thy [34:24] God him only shalt thou serve not have any idols but God says what he's going to do he says I'm going to take the Jews I'm going to write my covenant on their heart it's going to be a new covenant it is not yet established but it's going to be a new covenant and he said they're going to have it nobody's going to have to say go know the know God because they're all going to know God look at chapter 10 Hebrews chapter 10 and he says it again verse 16 this is the covenant that I will make future that I will make with them after those days saith the Lord I will put my laws into their hearts and in their minds will I write write them and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more so the new covenant is going to be that that God is going to forgive Israel everything bring them all back to the land of Israel and then he's going to say guys I'm going to make a brand new covenant and I got these 10 commandments here but and then maybe God will have one stone maybe he'll throw them down break them because you don't need these on your wall you don't need these at your church you don't need to carry me in your wallet I'm going to write them on your heart let me show you what's what's in the future go to Zechariah chapter 8 Zechariah chapter 8 has it's got a couple of verse here that absolutely bless my heart and they bless my heart because they're not true today they are future isn't [35:57] Jesus Christ one of these days going to be sitting in Jerusalem and ruling the earth take a look at verse 22 Zechariah chapter 8 verse 22 yea many people and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem and to pray before the Lord guys anybody else here ever been to Jerusalem okay we've been there he's not there he's not there there's no temple Jesus Christ is not in Jerusalem today but he is going to be in Jerusalem one of these days isn't that true so he said many people and strong nations will come to Israel come to come to Jerusalem to pray before the Lord now look at verse 23 thus saith the Lord of hosts in those days it shall come to pass future that ten men that's a Gentile number shall take hold out of all languages of the nations even shall take hold of him of the skirt of him that is a Jew saying we will go with you for we have heard that God is with you so there's going to be a day when somebody going to say to a Jew you go in Jerusalem [37:03] I'll go with you I want to see the Lord now you remember I think it's Isaiah Isaiah chapter 9 and in Matthew chapter 1 the angel says in Matthew 1 Joseph said I got the angel says Joseph your wife's going to have a child and it's going to his name is going to be Emmanuel we've heard that name I preached in I preached in churches that are Emmanuel Baptist Church when was Jesus ever Emmanuel what does Emmanuel mean God with us correct you know why they never called him Emmanuel down here because the Bible says he came unto his own and his own received him not he was never with them that's why he's known as Jesus Jehovah saves but he's got to be Emmanuel someday now look at verse 23 again and remember this was written in Hebrew and in Hebrew basically it says the same thing thus saith the Lord of hosts in those days shall it come to pass the ten men shall take hold out of all languages of nations even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew saying we will go with you for we have heard that God is with you you see those words right there that's Emmanuel for we have heard Emmanuel we have heard God is with you I don't believe I don't believe when this comes true anybody is going to say let's go to Jerusalem and see Jesus they're going to say let's go to Jerusalem and see Emmanuel because God will be with them take a look again at [38:32] Revelation chapter 21 Revelation chapter 21 and I was talking with somebody the other day about about the entire the entire thousand year millennial reign is really only the 15 verses of chapter 20 it starts with chapter verse 1 it's over at verse 15 and after the millennium look at what it just read and see what you're reading in chapter 21 verses 1 through 3 after the millennium I saw a new heaven and a new earth many people think that the millennium is going to be new heaven or earth the millennium is going to be this lousy place you're on now with two major differences no devil he'll be bound for a thousand years which really basically just takes the excuse for sin away because everybody say the devil made me do it now they're just gonna say I guess I'm wicked and instead of governments you're gonna think about you know what the what the world's trying to do right now they're trying to get a one world government so one guy can run the whole world well I got news for you that's the same plan Jesus Christ has and he's going to get the entire world together and he's going to run it so if this were the millennium right now there'd be no devil and sitting in Israel in Jerusalem would be not Jesus they called him the [39:56] Lord he says he'll go to Jerusalem to see the Lord and we'll refer to him as Emmanuel now watch again and I saw new heaven new earth for the first heaven the first earth were passed away and there was no more sea and I John saw the holy city new Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven prayer prepared as a bride adorned for her husband now watch the wording of verse 3 I heard a great voice out of heaven saying behold the tabernacle of God is with man Emmanuel God is with man and he shall he will dwell with them that's Emmanuel and they will be his people and God himself shall be with them Emmanuel and be their God three times in one verse God refers to him being with man God with us Emmanuel so God made a covenant with Abraham passed it on to Isaac passed it on Jacob in his seed he confirmed it with Israel that that covenant still stands but he says someday in the future new heaven new earth there's gonna be a brand new covenant I'm gonna put [41:00] Israel in the land they're not there yet they're gonna dwell safely they're not doing that he said I'm gonna write my law on their hearts no Jew in in the new heaven earth is ever gonna say you need you need get back to God haven't you read what the what the commandments say because they're gonna be your guys wouldn't it be nice if they're written on your heart I mean you read your Bible and read your Bible you hope makes a difference but would it be something if they were written on your heart and so as you read especially especially Jeremiah if you're reading read Jeremiah and watch how many times it will say it shall come to pass it shall come to pass and it's almost every time when I say almost every time I can't think of a time when it's not I'm saying you might find one but almost every time when it says it shall come to pass that is a prophecy for what God is going to do with Israel now somebody says well what about us guys aren't you saved well ain't that enough guys how many how many here got saved at a young age okay I always say this my wife she got saved at seven years old if you if you got saved young you have the best testimony in this room you know guys like me get up you get like [42:14] David Spurge or something guy gets up says I'm a biker I was a biker and I was a dope dealer and I was a Democrat and and all these ungodly things guys and I say it this way you got saved early man thank God don't ever say oh gee I've never been out in the world don't say thank God I've not been out in the world I had a guy in my church and he was a big guy six foot four still had the red in his cheeks and and some of the guys were talking one day and they weren't they weren't you know they weren't glorying in their old life but they were talking about about the old life and this guy is standing like like they're in a circle here and he's he's just behind him he's not even he's not even in the circle I said Dave what's the matter he said preacher he said I was raised in a Christian home he said I got saved when I was young he said my dad was a deacon my mom was a Sunday school teacher and as a as a as a little child he had a drug problem they drug him to Sunday school they drug him to church they drug him to Wednesday night they drug him to revival he said I and he wasn't boasting honest he wasn't but I'm being self-righteous he said I've never held a cigarette in my hand I have never tasted booze I said Dave you got the best testimony of building but I say it this way guys some of us God found in a ditch right okay if he found you in a ditch isn't this true you were in that ditch and you're on your way to hell if he'd have saved you and left you in the mess he found you in wouldn't you be better for it yeah I don't know anybody did that with instead he gave you a brand new life he made you a son I am I am always amazed astounded that when I pray to the father couldn't we call God when we address him in prayer couldn't we call him the almighty the everlasting one God maker all kinds of great things Lord isn't that true but you pray to who our father so when I talk to God a piece of dirt talks to its creator and addresses him as father because God did that and has he not given us some some measure of a reward system where we can reign with him in eternity so quit griping you know what I found I got so many blessings when [44:29] I got saved I don't I don't feel any compulsion to knock a Jew out of the picture or pick his pocket and grab one of his blessings he's God is dealing good with us has is he not but he has dealt with Israel he has not written them off we are not their replacement and one of these days he's going to reestablish them just like he promised Abraham but that day is still in the future so that shows you the new covenant of the New Testament the Old Testament New Testament are not the old covenant and the new covenant the old and new covenant are indeed like contracts they are covenants that God made with the children of Israel let's have a word of prayer we'll take a break father we thank you now God for your goodness your grace God I am glad for Israel that you love them as much as you do and you've been patient with them and you've been merciful and kind and gracious and God they've done some terrible things but there is always me and I don't I don't stand any more righteous than them but I'm glad for their sake God and yours that one of these days you're going to make a new covenant with [45:33] Israel and establish it for all the world to see I look forward to that day but God on our side of it thank you for saving us and God if you'd have saved us and done nothing more we'd still go to heaven when we die but what did you do you you wiped out our sins old things passed away you gave us a brand new life you give us a promise of a new body you give us a chance to serve you God you've been good to us we don't need to pick Israel's pocket for a blessing you've been good to us we thank you for it in Jesus Christ's name we pray amen take a break
