[0:00] it'll take on a whole different meaning probably find exodus chapter one find exodus chapter one and forgive me i just got an itch in my throat like i i don't know i probably will for months but i feel like i'm clear in my throat i want to just do it every six seconds it feels i'm trying to hold back uh i i've been just thinking and praying on this and i just felt recently and a little bit back a week or so ago that the lord would have me preach through this book and it's kind of a daunting task to me as a preacher to to feel like oh man i i'm forced to just stay here and and it's going to take forever and and those kind of thoughts and and how can i do that and there's things in there i don't understand and it gets into the ten commandments and the and the tabernacle and the law and the statutes and all of that and that's that's my like red flags going off in my head but then as i just considered i felt i really felt the lord just putting this on my mind and and so we're going to go into this and i think we're going to just continue working our way through the book and that's the goal at least today but i i would feel a whole lot better if i had things laid out for a good ways and and that's just not going to happen there's no way so we're just going to work our way little by little and see how it unfolds and this morning i want to start the book of exodus and so the book as you know by title it's called the book of exodus about the children of israel exiting egypt and it's about their march toward this land that god made a promise long ago to abraham and confirmed it to isaac and to jacob that that land was his that he was going to give it to him and to his seat after him but the book i find the book contains so much more than the title alone expresses this is not more just a book about an exiting of egypt of getting away from pharaoh this is a book of conflict this is a book of suffering this is a book of obedience and redemption this is a book about a journey of dependence upon god does that sound relatable it ought to sound relatable a journey of dependence upon god it's a book of miracles it's a book of the display of the power of our god it's a book of revelation revelation there's things that were never known nor understood nor perceived or conceived until certain spots in this book and god reveals things to that people it's a book of power it's a book of fear and it's a book of much much change from adapting to life where it was not necessarily comfortable but it was nevertheless it was where they were rooted to a degree in egypt to now traveling and sojourning and working their way through the wilderness like migrating what a change it had to be for men and women and children is an adaptation to their uh to their lifestyle not only that but there were new laws and statutes that were non-negotiable that showed up in their lives and now everything changes so there's much to learn as we journey alongside the children of israel in their exodus but before we can even get to the actual event of the great exodus from egypt there's over 11 chapters in the book of preliminary things leading up to that exodus but before we can even get to that there's some things that we just have to [4:05] understand so come back to genesis chapter 15 all the way back to genesis 15 there's many many years of background and this is the first place that god revealed this thought of what we're going to study and read through in exodus he told abraham this a few hundred years before it would actually looks like four hundred and thirty years before it would actually take place now genesis 15 and look at verse number 12 when the sun was going down a deep sleep fell upon abram and lo and horror of great darkness fell upon him and he said unto abram know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs and shall serve them and they shall afflict them four hundred years and also that nation whom they shall serve will i judge and afterward afterward shall they come out with great substance long before isaac long before jacob long before the twelve sons long before joseph long before anything to do with egypt god had already told abram that your seed's going to be in a strange land and then i'm going to bring them out and so there the exodus was foretold now the book of genesis goes on to give give some details about those the unfolding of abram's life and his wife and his son and all of that took place it gives you details all the way up to jacob and then his sons and then we get to chapter 37 and we learn about joseph and we get some real good details and we need to know this because it's joseph that was treated cruelly by his brethren they envied him and they they sold him into slavery to these midianites that carried him down into egypt and then sold him into to an egyptian uh governor or or master and now joseph finds himself in egypt all alone he's falsely accused he's thrown in prison he ends up interpreting some dreams of the baker and butler and because of that eventually gets known to pharaoh when he has some dreams that trouble him and then joseph answers these dreams gives an interpretation gets lifted up out of prison to second in command of the entire country of egypt and what an amazing thing for this this hebrew boy from the land of canaan to now be second in command in egypt over a very mighty and powerful country and now joseph's lifted up and he uses that position to get his father and his brethren down into egypt because of the famine that had distressed not only egypt or was coming rather to distress egypt as well as i think it's an axe where stephen talks about this he says it was in egypt and it was in canaan so that famine had gotten all the way up to where jacob was now um notice in genesis chapter 50 come all the way to the end of genesis just before exodus that it was god that had his hand in this unfolding this situation with joseph his brethren to get jacob to egypt to get to where they could be survivors from the famine this was god's doing the entire time genesis 50 after jacob dies the brothers get scared they think oh he's going to get us now because we did him wrong and in verse number 18 his brethren also went and fell down before his face and they said behold we be thy servants and joseph said unto them fear not for am i in the place of god but as for you ye thought evil against me but god meant it unto good to bring to pass as it is this day to save [8:05] save much people alive so it was god all along it was god that brought this family into this place and what i want to do this morning by kind of way of introduction before we really get into the context and and really move too far at all into exodus is i want to show you some things that are probably commonly overlooked when it comes to this book when it comes to the exodus if i say turn to exodus what happened in exodus your mind goes right into the plagues of pharaoh maybe you think ahead to the ten commandments and maybe and you go on from there but there are some things and i want to show you three things this morning that i think you overlook i overlook and don't even consider uh the hand of god and things that's going on in the background or even that brought this to pass and so first thing i want us to see it starts right at the beginning is that before there ever was an exodus there was an entrance look at verse number one now these are the name of the children of israel which notice the words came into egypt while the book of exodus starts in the very first verse about them coming into rather an entrance into egypt and it gives the names every man of his household came with jacob verse two reuben simeon levi judah issachar zebulun benjamin dan and naphtali gan and asher gad and asher and all the souls that came out of the loins of jacob were seventy souls for joseph was in egypt already before there was ever an exodus there was an entrance and that entrance was god's divine plan they all happily thankfully entered into egypt where they found provision for their starving families now they're going to be sustained now they're going to survive this harsh famine when we think of egypt we are very quick to think of egypt we are very quick to think of slavery bondage pharaoh taskmasters but remember before any of that god brought his people he entered them into egypt before the slavery and the servitude egypt was a place of salvation we read that in genesis 50 that joseph said it was god's doing to save much people alive we might think of of egypt what's called in scripture a furnace of iron and we might fail to remember we easily overlook that egypt was first in place of salvation it was a place of preservation for the people of god god chose to nourish and to grow this chosen family into what what became a mighty mighty mighty nation and he chose the land of egypt for that egypt was a place of salvation i know conflict is coming and we know that we read the story there's there's cruelty on the horizon and god even told abraham that they'd serve them they'd be afflicted but before any of that took place egypt was a sanctuary for the seed of abraham and i bet when i say egypt that never comes to your mind i bet when i talk about egypt you're quick to overlook salvation because that's an easy one to overlook and i want to drive that home just in a moment it sounds so simple it does but i think it's bigger than we remember we're quick to overlook salvation because we've been saved and we are saved and we know what it's like to be saved and we [12:07] come to church with other people that are saved and we have a bible and now we're we're growing and we're learning more things and we're getting into the deeper things of the text and we want to know more and know more and learn more or in some cases in some cases it's not that at all we just see our health problems and we see our financial situations and and there's just pains of growing old and the world is getting worse and those are the things that we see and those are the things the problems that we are consumed with and have we forgotten that even with the problems and the pains and this wickedness in this world have we forgotten that we have it far better than anybody on the planet have you forgotten have you forgotten that that getting that day of getting saved changed everything for eternity for you it's sealed your destiny you're now you're born spiritually a child of god with eternal life it'll never be taken from you why you could fall back into the the depths of hell spiritually speaking you could fall into filthiness and sin and destroy your life and it won't change the fact that you are one of god's own the bible says he knoweth them that are his and by the grace of god the day you got saved things changed forever and if you're saved and if you know it you're saved forever and you know it and you're in christ and you've been fully justified from every filthy thing you've ever said or thought or done you're declared righteous in the presence of god because of his glorious son who now you are a joint heir with don't quickly overlook salvation as if it's just yeah i got saved when i was young i got saved yep i'm saved boy salvation is something to take don't ever overlook it don't get past it don't lose the joy of it don't let that zeal and that that spirit inside of you cease to come alive when we sing about calvary we sang it this morning years i spent in vanity and pride caring not but oh calvary calvary changed it all and now i'm saved there's nothing like it salvation church i know this is preaching to the choir but salvation is such a glorious and wonderful gift and don't we just overlook it did you overlook it yesterday did you overlook it this week that god sent his son to save your soul that you have it that you possess eternal life and this is a work of god why the truth is we put we put more energy into our carnal temporary lives and making sure they work than we ever do into what god has given us spiritually to do into that new life that we've been granted by his son you know why because we overlook our salvation our lives our eyes are on this world they're on this day they're on this week they're on what we're going to accomplish and have to accomplish and have to do and get prepared for and and i know there's duties and responsibilities but god help us not to allow those to take priority over the salvation and the gift of god which is eternal life that we have and that we ought to work out our salvation with fear and trembling remember this morning the value of your salvation remember the cost of your salvation remember the cost of your salvation remember the difference that it's made every in every day of your life i mean today you know why you got up and came to church [16:09] it's probably because ultimately because you have eternal life because you know the lord jesus christ i can promise you if i wasn't saved i would not be anywhere near this building i wouldn't be you i'm telling you there's a wicked man in me that is selfish and wants nothing to do with anything spiritual but by the grace of god my life was changed and by the word of god it cleaned me up and changed this mind to start thinking about what's real and what's right and who i'm pleasing with my life don't take your salvation for granted church don't overlook it and pretend like it's just it's just become normal to me and if that takes place all it takes is a little bit of time on your knees and to let the lord bring those scenes before you and to remind you that you're on your way to hell that you deserve to be in hell today and that is the grace of god and the love of the lord jesus christ and his willingness to suffer for your sins that you have salvation thank you god thank you lord glory to his name but we're quick to overlook salvation so there was egypt a place of salvation and we don't even think of it like that do we we miss that we would look we look right past that but then something else i want us to consider there's a time element that's involved in in all of this that's going on here i want you to see in verse number six look at exodus one in verse six and joseph died and all his brethren and all that generation so time is passing in egypt joseph the one that got him there now he's gone and all of his brethren and they're listed by name as they came in and and so is their sons earlier in genesis that came in to egypt with them and one by one they step off the scene and disappear and so it's actually a couple hundred years that pass and at this point think about it the famine is long gone that's a very very distant thing the famine these great years of dearth why are they still in egypt why haven't they packed up and said all right guys let's get back to canaan let's get back to where we're from why is it going on this long what's keeping them in egypt what are they waiting for well it appears to me they're waiting on the lord and look back at genesis 50 just right across the page probably genesis 50 at the end of joseph's life he makes some comments i'll see verse 24 and 25 joseph said unto his brethren i die and god will surely visit you and bring you out of this land unto the land which he swore to abraham to isaac and to jacob and joseph took an oath of the children of israel saying god will surely visit you and you shall carry up my bones from hence it seems like they're waiting on god to do something they're they're absolutely just stuck there i don't think anybody's taking the leadership role and saying why are we here what are we doing but they're waiting waiting on something maybe don't even know what it is don't know who it is but they're waiting and they're waiting and and time is passing and time is passing and and all that generation is gone their experiences their leadership their knowledge of the land of canaan and the trip south and and the way they took and that's all gone that's all just a memory it's a story jacob their father [20:10] the patriarch of these 12 long gone his sons each of them one by one fathers over their respective households gone and what are we left with but a people that have known only the land of egypt they've never been to canaan never seen this supposed land of milk and honey the only thing they know is egypt egypt egypt the land of goshen and there they are there's time passing time passing waiting on god to visit them they have a promise that god would visit them they have a promise that goes as far back as abram that god would bring them out joseph concurred god will visit you he will surely carry you up you're going to leave now come back to genesis 15 i want to point something out i didn't read earlier genesis 15 again god made a promise to abraham a prophecy about this exodus but that was over a hundred years ago and then that was over 200 years ago and time is just passing and they're still in egypt but there's something to consider something that is overlooked maybe it's overlooked because it's not really understood at all what is going on here and i can't say that i really fully understand it but we will point it out for genesis chapter 15 and notice now we read verses 13 and 14 look at verse 16 but in the fourth generation they shall come hither that is to this place back to canaan they shall come hither again for the iniquity of the amorites is not yet full now first of all he said the fourth generation levi went down into egypt and his son kohath and his son mara or amram and his son moses makes four generations until they bring them back out now i understand moses was upwards to 80 years old and so others had sons aaron had sons and so forth so there was another generation but that generation's the one that got out now he said in 16 in the fourth generation they shall come hither god has some kind of time thing he knows what he's doing but there's this other thought from verse 16 that is kind of elusive the iniquity of the amorites is not yet full what in the world if you study a little bit about the amorites and i spent some time on it there are people that are on both sides of the jordan and even for as far away as assyria or babylon this the amorite was somebody that abraham in chapter 14 helped out when some kings came and started causing some trouble in the region and canaan and uh but the lord says to abraham the the iniquity of the amorites is not yet full there's something going on specifically with the amorites he doesn't say the hivites he doesn't say the hittites he doesn't say the moabites doesn't say the edomites he doesn't say the ammonites the amorites that that people specifically that people god is monitoring them and their iniquity is filling up and it's coming to a place that it's going to be an end of it that's what the reference is when their iniquity is full there's going to be an end there's going to be a time of reckoning there's going to be a visitation from god not a pretty way it's going to be judgment now i'm going [24:14] to do a real quick study with you and see if we can just learn a little something but not promising too much really i'm just going to give you a few verses and then leave you hanging okay just being honest but uh go to amos find the book of amos we're going to run just a few verses a little side study about the amorites amos chapter two if you find hosea next is joel next is amos amos chapter two i'll give you a moment i ran a bunch of references on the amorites and there's uh they were a real people they had some um seemingly some power and uh spread out so amos chapter two and this is understand this is some hundreds years later much a long time later when amos prophesies amos chapter two and verse number nine he speaks in the past tense and god says yet destroyed i the amorite before them speaking of before his children israel i destroyed the amorite before them whose height was like the height of the cedars so metaphorically speaking a very powerful nation and he was he was strong as the oaks yet i destroyed his fruit from above and his roots from beneath now it's those two phrases at the end that really caught my attention because metaphorically speaking of a tree his fruit from above his roots from beneath but the metaphor means something it's not just staying oh he's a tree and i knocked him down but rather he did something to his fruit and to his root the ones from above the other ones from beneath you see that what could that mean look back at deuteronomy you can lose amos but come back to deuteronomy and in deuteronomy 3 we have an account moses giving the account to this next generation that's about to go into the land and as he's giving this account he talks about the trip they took and some of the things they encountered and some of the people they encountered and he talks specifically about two kings of the amorites the one's name is sihon the other's name is og and these two kings what caught my attention about them was that they were referenced multiple times from here on to the future go through the book of psalms you'll see them talking about god did this and god did that and he destroyed sihon and og he's like these two because they were very very very powerful men of that time the amorites have really grown to power as amos had alluded to now deuteronomy 3 uh let's see verse 6 describes a sihon he says we utterly destroyed them as we did unto sihon king of heshba and utterly destroying men and women children of every city uh verse 8 says we took at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the amorites the land now the two kings sihon's mentioned in verse uh two you can see him at the end of verse two and og is mentioned at verse one i'm kind of just flopping around here on you sihon's mentioned back in chapter two even more uh but if you see those two names in verse 8 says the two kings of the amorites and he talks about we went in there and we destroyed them and verse number 11 says something i want to draw your attention to for only og king of bashan [28:21] remained of the remnant of giants giants the king of bashan one of the kings of the amorites is a giant he's a remnant of the giants this is wild because there's something going on with giants and if you know your bible from genesis 6 the giants are a seed of some sons of god that have come down and cohabitated with the daughters of men and they produce giants and they're still alive after the flood and they're still alive and living in the land the land of canaan specifically and this guy og king of bashan is remained of the remnant of the giants there's another verse verse 13 verse 13 and the rest of gilead and all bashan being the kingdom of og gave i under the half tribe of manasseh and all the region of argob with all bashan which was called the land of giants and now this is on the the east side of the jordan river and what you need to understand then is that god brought his people not up along the coast through the philistines he said lest they learn war they repent because of the war they're not ready and he sent them south and he sent them through the wilderness he sent them mount sign he sent them up the other side to where they'd come right up through this land and destroy these people and what it's showing me is to the message sake god is seeing a timing here that nobody else is considering nobody's aware of but the lord's watching that when their iniquity fills up now one more thing about this this og king of bashan go to psalm 22 i believe that that reference to the amorite the tree with his fruit from above his connection to those giants being fruit from those sons of god that came from above and then come to psalm 22 and he also mentions their root from beneath and in psalm 22 you have jesus christ prophetically speaking through david the prophet david speaking of jesus christ on the cross and you can see this from verse one you can see it in verse six and seven and eight much of this chapter or this psalm is prophetically showing very detailed view of calvary and notice something in verse number 12 verse 12 says many bulls have come past me strong bulls of bashan have beset me round they gaped upon me with their mouths as a ravening and roaring lion a lion bulls are likened to lion a ravening bulls plural are gaping upon christ with their mouth as a roaring as the ravening and roaring lion like our adversary the devil as a roaring lion he goes on to talk about his bones and out of joint in verse 14 verse 16 says for dogs have come past me the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me they pierced my hands and my feet that's christ i may tell all my bones they look and stare upon me they part my garments upon them there's christ verse 20 but deliver my soul my soul from the sword now he's already on the cross in this moment deliver my soul from the sword that's something my darling from the power of the dog mentioned dogs earlier in whatever verse that was [32:24] anyway verse 21 save me from the lion's mouth for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorn you say what in the world's going on here there's some spiritual devilish things going on at calvary that is not visible to the naked eye to the human there is what's called bulls strong bulls of the man's mouth of bashan that's where og was king over these amorites but they're spiritual beings that are surrounding christ at calvary and gaping on him with their mouths and like a roaring lion they're just intimidating him and threatening him and there's dogs in verse 16 that have come past him those aren't people those are spirits and there's christ facing more than you know and more than man knows in that moment and i think those are devils and i think the roots from beneath is a connection to that hell and the satanic forces and they're they're drawn back to the amorite and so my point is in this just a little study told you i'm gonna leave you hanging with it but what i can give you is that that thing in amos is picturing something and i believe the fruit from above is picturing those giants that were there these offspring of satanic activities or sons of god that have followed that way and left their first estate and then the roots from beneath picture the devils and some devilish activities and it's all associated with that region that land and those people the amorites specifically and there's more references and it mentioned them being like a strong oak and i could run you a few references on that and a lot of it ties back into a second coming of jesus christ and him pledging to come through and take care of business all of it and i'll admit i don't understand a lot of this but there's definitely a reason that god singled out the amorite in genesis 15 that was not just some random thing so getting back to this there's something else to this time element that i'm talking about first it was a mention about this fourth generation and then the iniquity of the amorites is not yet full that's there's some time has to pass before that takes place but look at exodus chapter 12 and we're coming back to exodus now exodus 12 and i want to show you a verse in verse number 40 this is as they're leaving and they're journeying out it says in verse 40 now the sojourning of the children of israel who dwelled in egypt was 430 years notice this verse 41 and it came to pass at the end of 430 years even the self-same day it came to pass that as the host of the lord went out from the land of egypt that all the host of the lord the self-same day now running that back it goes back to abraham to what god pledged with abraham and he was a sojourner and so were his sons and i can show you the references on that but what it looks like is these 430 years in total to the very day is not by choice of the egyptians or pharaoh it's not by coincidence it's not random it's not by chance the timing church the timing is so very specific to the self-same day there's a timing that has already been set and it is being closely monitored by the lord and so they're sojourning in a land that is not the land of promise but it's where god put them for the time being and one generation comes another goes and they're all awaiting the promise of god from the visit his people to bring them out many hebrews only knew [36:28] egypt never knew anything but it cradle to the grave and this places the calling then of moses at a specific time and a generation this also shows us that these terrible plagues and and all of what pharaoh is doing why pharaoh would you keep them there one more night why would you not because there's a timing there's a timing there's an exact day coming that god has planned there's a real time element involved in all of this that i think we just we don't consider probably because some of it's just well over our heads and that's fine but i also think church that we easily overlook that god is still operating on a time schedule a timetable and it's ticking it's absolutely ticking in romans chapter 11 and in luke chapter 21 we hear a phrase called the fullness of the gentiles there's an exact time when the fullness of the gentiles are when it's filled when it's done and god's going to put an end to that and he's going to go back to israel and and revisit them as his people there's an absolute timing that god is still monitoring he's still watching and i think i really think sometimes we're just completely oblivious or or just overlook that there's a day coming for us called the day of redemption it's called the day of christ it's it's it's our moment it's the moment for the body of christ for the church to be taken up to exit this world i think we might overlook that this thing is it's coming it's ticking it's daily getting closer daily getting closer this thing is is a biblical doctrine we're we're told to be looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our great god and savior we're told to that our conversation is in heaven from whence also we look for the savior the lord jesus christ there's a timing to what god's doing what we're not to be looking for is to make america great again we're not to be looking for peace to come on earth what we're not to be looking for is to make sure we're our our retirement is padded and our business is settled and successful we're to be looking for the day when our savior the lord jesus christ returns for me and for you he's coming the time is set he's coming this world will steal that expectation from you this world will steal that thought that hope from you it'll fill your mind with vain thoughts and lusts of your flesh it'll bombard you with all the the cares of this world and the needs of a successful happy home and family and life it'll steal the expectation of looking for the lord jesus christ remember that the lord put this world together and he promised he's going to take it apart and there's a timing to it and while we wait while we wait there's something to do and it's in our text god brought them to this place of salvation god promised to get them out at a specific time but until then he kept them there so what are they to do [40:30] i think when we think of exodus there's something that we often overlook and that is look at verse number seven and this will be our final place of scripture here verse number seven it says the children of israel were fruitful and increased abundantly and multiplied and waxed exceeding mighty and the land was filled with them i think there's something that we overlook or maybe are just completely unaware of is how greatly this people multiplied it's astounding it is you've probably never considered it it is mind-blowing how greatly these people multiplied the population exploded in four generations this is not an overstatement to say that they were fruitful and increased abundantly and multiplied and waxed exceeding mighty that's not an overstatement at all they entered about 70 not even counting their wives but about 70 and they exited with over 600 000 men that were men 20 and upward able for war a general a a number is often kind of two million ish that they came out in four generations you could add a fifth in the sense of like i said aaron already had some sons and so that fifth generation was up and coming but this is this is ridiculous look at verse number 12 it says that the more they afflicted them the more they multiplied and grew look later in verse number 19 it says it again verse 20 therefore god dealt well with the midlives and the people multiplied and waxed very mighty this is nothing but a miracle of god to be doing this it's not natural for any civilization to grow at such a rate you can't find it you can say the chinese are just doing it now not even close there is nothing like this and to my knowledge that you can put even close to it in history of civilizations how they multiplied and increased abundantly they were fruitful they were fruitful do you know what we as saved people ought to be diligent ought to be faithful toward while we wait for our exit out of this world being fruitful being fruitful seeing the body of christ increase abundantly abundantly multiply the bible says that the fruit of the righteous is a tree of life and he that winneth souls is wise there's some fruit you know what activity we often overlook because we're too busy with our things in life we often overlook winning winning precious souls to jesus christ amen i know these times are cold i know people are hard i know america's in bad shape i know sin abounds i know all about it i've i used to go out door knocking and see results and see people come to church as a result and i know it's it's it's probably the end times it's probably getting closer and closer and to that praise the lord but until we're there church isn't there an activity that we should be working about isn't there something we should be after [44:32] the more we can take with us the better i wonder is your family ready for the exodus is your family ready there's a song that i don't i don't know what it is i know i've heard it on my my car my girls play it it's it's something about it's the time's getting closer we're going to be going home and one of the lines in the song says make sure your family's in and that whenever i hear that part of the song it just strikes me i'm like oh man i can't imagine if the rapture took place and my family wasn't in i can't imagine it as a father to think one of my kids didn't make it they weren't in they weren't ready all that would just tear me up and yet isn't it true that in this room there's family members that aren't ready they're not going in the exodus when the day comes when the time's up when christ takes us out oh church may god lay it on your heart to be fruitful may he impress you today and this week to be fruitful to seek a lost soul to reach to a lost soul to get them in before it's too late something we overlook we overlook our salvation like it's just become part of the past and yet it's it's the it's the only thing that we have it is the greatest thing that we have because we don't have an inheritance yet that we've received we haven't even gotten our new bodies yet the only thing we have is eternal life in the new man and those spiritual things that the book tells us about we have that let's not overlook that let's not overlook that our time is getting closer and there's a specific day that's coming and we're going home and until that day comes we've been given an opportunity maybe it's more like a duty to be fruitful and to grow the body of Christ as the Lord God allows so there's some things that we overlook about this story of the Exodus and I thought they're worthy to bring out and to bring before your attention and Lord willing next week we'll just pick up in verse number 8 and go forward and before long we'll find ourselves all with those taskmasters in affliction and see the type of the world and see Pharaoh and see wickedness and see the great hand of God but before that how about we focus on a few of these things how that land was a place of salvation and how the whole time [47:27] God had a plan and a timing that he was moving and taking care of business over here and moving one here to get that over there he's still doing the same thing he's still above it all his eyes still see all his eyes run through the earth to and fro all of it he knows what's going on and let's be ready let's make sure our family's in church Father as we dismiss I pray that you'll use these thoughts may we not overlook these truths and thank you for showing them to us in the scriptures thank you for revealing them from the text a thought that probably is a bit obscure in some ways something we don't traditionally think on with the exodus but Lord I pray that as they were drawn to our attention that each one would consider that each one Lord myself especially would take the heart my responsibility to have others near me ready and prepared presented with the gospel to hear the truth of Jesus Christ his death burial and resurrection [48:31] God I want to thank you for saving me thank you for that day thank you for allowing me to understand judgment for my filthy sins and to understand your holiness and what Jesus Christ did Lord I pray for any lost soul here this morning that has not come to that understanding that you'll reveal it to them that you'll show them why Christ died and that they'd make it personal speak to their hearts Lord speak to our hearts and help us to respond with obedience we pray in Jesus name Amen Amen you got a number? [49:16] no? no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no
