[0:32] Thank you to Pastor Mahan, my friend, for inviting me. And thank you everybody. Can you translate? [0:44] Thank you. I am very grateful for all of you. I am very grateful for the invitation to Pastor Mohan. [0:56] Romans 12 is what we are going to start with. Romans 12. How can we live for God? [1:10] Romans 12 verse 1. I beset you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God. [1:22] Romans 12 verse 1. Romans 12 verse 1. That you present your bodies a living sacrifice. Holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. [1:36] And be not conformed to this world. [1:50] and be not conformed to this world but then you transform by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God how can we please God? [2:23] first it is a new way of living God says present your bodies to him, a living sacrifice I beset you therefore brethren by the mercies of God and the people who are in the world are in the world Paul challenges us to present your bodies to God it starts with God's grace it is because of his great love that he gives to us this world does not know God the world says if it feels good do it the world does not care about God but the Lord wants the best for your life for you to choose the best way to live and God's grace and goodness leads us to make a decision we can decide to give our life to God to dedicate yourself to God like a living sacrifice [4:11] God says to us place yourself on the altar to give yourself at his disposal for him to use you and when it says present your bodies it means all of who you are to want your life to be for God's use and when it says present your bodies there was a man called William Booth who founded the Salvation Army and one day they asked him why his ministry was so successful and he said God has had all there was of me to have he didn't hold anything back he gave everything to God what about you are you ready to be a living sacrifice amen give him your life like a sacrifice hold nothing back give him your life to please him not yourself give him your life to please him not yourself it's a new way of living a new life to be a living sacrifice to be a living sacrifice hallelujah [6:21] God shows us how we can live to please him give him your life give him your life to be a living sacrifice holy holy holy it means to live your life with purity to have a holy purpose to live godly to live like Jesus in all manner of conversation to be a living sacrifice for God God calls us to be holy to be like Jesus Jesus 1 Peter 1 15 1 Peter 1 15 it says but as he which has called you is holy so be ye holy in all manner of conversation because it is written be ye holy for I am holy [7:27] I am holy God is showing us how we can live to please Him. [7:50] A living sacrifice, wholly acceptable. Acceptable to please God. What does that mean? [8:09] To please God means to be like Enoch. [8:24] It says of Enoch in Hebrews 11 verse 5, By faith Enoch had this testimony that he pleased God. We can ask God, How can I please you God? [8:47] How can I live my life for you? How can I live in a way that pleases you Lord? [9:00] You can pray, How can my life be best used for your glory? Ask God to show you how to live your life God's way. [9:15] You can be a living sacrifice. As you present your bodies, your life to God. [9:29] You can be a living sacrifice. You can be a living sacrifice. The whole person that is you. So it's a new life. [9:42] We don't dress or act like the world in the fleshly way. We are a living sacrifice. [9:55] Holy to the Lord. The people of the world cut their bodies and tattoo their bodies and show off their bodies. [10:06] They dress with our bodies. They dress with our modesty. But God shows young women how they are to dress to please God and honour Him. [10:24] And in the past, we are going to see that the people of the world are to be able to live their bodies. [10:36] In Proverbs 31, 25, it says, Strength and honour are her clothing. In Proverbs 31, 25, it says, Strength and honour are her clothing. And in Proverbs 31, 25, it says, Strength and honour are her clothing. [10:51] And 1 Timothy 2, 9 shows women who dress decently and modestly. It brings honour to God. [11:09] That means, where what's appropriate. But of course, much more important is what's on the inside. What about the men? [11:23] What about the men? What about the men? Men are to act like men and be honourable to God. And God shows us how to do that. [11:47] In 1 John 2, 5, 14. John says, I have written unto you, young men, because you are strong and the word of God abideth in you. [11:58] And you have overcome the wicked one. [12:09] Men can be men of God and the word of God can live in you. God wants all of us to be ambassadors for Christ. [12:25] 2 Corinthians 5, verse 20. We represent the Lord Jesus everywhere we go. [12:40] When we're at school, when we're at work, wherever we are. The people of the world don't care about their bodies. [13:01] They smoke and drink and they don't look after themselves. But our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. [13:16] 1 Corinthians 6 verse 19, verse 20. What know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost? Which ye have of God and ye are not your own. [13:41] For you are bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God's. [13:54] He has bought you with a precious price, the precious blood of Jesus. [14:07] You belong to God now. So we sacrifice what we want and do what God wants with our life. [14:22] And when we do what God wants it's always the best, the very best. [14:35] When we truly are living sacrifice we want always to give God the glory. [14:47] With all the decisions that we make. We are all the decisions that we make. We are all the best. We are all the best. We are all the best. [14:59] 1 Corinthians 10 verse 31 it says, Whether therefore ye eat or drink or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Everything that you do. [15:10] So when you are at work you work hard and you work honestly. When you are at work you work hard and you work honestly. [15:32] When you study at school you work hard. And in church you give God your best. [15:51] And God will give you what you truly need to do that living sacrifice. Present your bodies a living sacrifice holy, acceptable to God. [16:08] After all the things that you have been living sacrifice. Which is your reasonable service. God shows us how we can live to please God and to serve God. [16:21] After all the things that we have seen as a living sacrifice. Ask the Lord how can I make my life count for you. After all the things that we have seen as a living sacrifice. [16:34] How can I bless people? How can I work for God? To be that living sacrifice for Him. [16:50] It's our great privilege to do something for God with our lives. It's wonderful to be a servant of God, to serve God. [17:06] Ask your pastor, ask him to help you learn to study. Let your pastor know you want to be God's servant. [17:24] Be a faithful disciple. Do your best to study the Bible, to learn about God, and to serve Him. Ask to serve God with all your heart. [17:49] And the Bible shows us how we can serve. Ephesians 6. Ephesians 6 verse 6, it says, As the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart. [18:04] We serve God because we want to, because we love Him. And He shows us how to please Him. [18:22] And this living sacrifice, it talks about worship. We want to worship God, to do what is right. [18:41] And worship isn't just when we come to church, it's all the time. It talks about making melody in your heart to the Lord. [19:00] And we can worship God all the time. And worship Him in spirit and in truth. And most of all, with our heart, not just our words. [19:20] Will your worship be accepted? Will it be acceptable? With Cain and Abel, Abel's worship was accepted. [19:33] Abel's sacrifice was accepted. Abel gave the lamb. His worship was not his own works, like Cain's was. [19:54] Abel's worship was not his own works. Whereas Cain gave fruit, it was his works. [20:05] It shows us that our own good works are not enough. Our worship must be trusting God, faith in Jesus. [20:26] Just like Abel's sacrifice showed Jesus' sacrifice. Abel's sacrifice was in the cross. So Abel's faith was in the cross. [20:42] It was in Jesus to save Jesus. But Cain's sacrifice was his own good works. [20:55] It was wrong. And Abel's faith was in the cross. And Abel showed his faith in Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. [21:06] And Abel showed his faith in Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. It's a new way of living. It's a new life. It's a new life. It's a new life. It's a new life. [21:17] Holy, acceptable to God. Our reasonable service or worship. So we serve God with our whole lives. [21:30] Not just our lips but our lives. The Lord Jesus said to the Pharisees in Mark 7, verse 6, This people honoureth me with their lips but their heart is far from me. [21:50] The Pharisees worship was in vain. [22:07] It was useless. Because God did not have their heart. [22:20] God did not have their heart. It was just words. So first we need a new way of living. [22:33] And second we need a new way of thinking. In Romans 12, verse 2 it says, Be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. [22:46] That you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. [23:01] The Lord Jesus says, Paul says, Don't be conformed or don't copy this world or what it does. This Godless world, this world without God. [23:19] To act like the world, to think, to walk like the world. To follow the world's music or way of life. [23:31] It's empty. To look up to the idols of this world. The idols the world worships. [23:43] No, we must follow Jesus instead. This world and the people of this world have no hope. [24:00] But we have living hope. We have eternal hope. Amen. And our lives are full of Jesus and for his glory. [24:13] But the people of this world walk in darkness. They sin and swear. They curse and lust. They get drunk. [24:26] But we are not of this world. Our kingdom is in heaven. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. This world wants to squeeze us into its shape. Like clay with a potter squeezing the clay. [24:37] The world wants to squeeze the clay. [25:06] The world wants to squeeze us into its ugly shape. That's what peer pressure does when we follow the devil's crowd. [25:19] That's what peer pressure does when you follow the crowd. But instead, let's stand strong as God's people. [25:31] To be his witnesses. To think different. By the renewing of your mind. To be his witnesses. To be his witnesses. To be his army. To be his servants. To be his servants. [25:42] And we receive his blessings when we do. So be not conformed to this world. But be transformed. To think different. By the renewing of your mind. Having a new way of thinking. In Exodus 23.2 it says, Thou shalt not follow a multitude or follow a crowd to do evil. [26:00] In Proverbs 1 verse 10. My son, if sinners entice thee, consent they not. Say no. [26:33] We don't follow the crowd. We stand strong with God's people. We stand strong with God's people. We can be like Joshua. [26:45] In Joshua 24.15 he says, If it seems evil to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve. [27:03] But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. [27:14] Joshua said, I'm going to decide to follow the Lord and my family. It says that we can have a transforming of our mind. [27:28] A renewing of our mind. It's like a caterpillar transforms and it becomes a butterfly. [27:39] That's the picture when we get born again. We become a new creature, a new creation. It's a transformation, a conversion. [27:55] God changes us and we're born again. He makes us his own dear people. [28:08] A people who can bring him honour and glory to our lives. He renews our mind. [28:29] We think differently from this world, the way the world thinks. We set our affection, our love, not on this earth but on things above. [28:45] On what God wants. God wants to give us a new way of living and a new way of thinking. [28:58] God wants to give us a new way of thinking. As we surrender our lives to God, the Bible shows us what to think about. God is a new way of thinking. [29:09] God is a new way of thinking. God is a new way of thinking. God is a new way of thinking. God is a new way of thinking. God is a new way of thinking. God is a new way of thinking. God is a new way of thinking. God is a new way of thinking. God is a new way of thinking. God is a new way of thinking. God is a new way of thinking. [29:20] God is a new way of thinking. God is a new way of thinking. God is a new way of thinking. God is a new way of thinking. God is a new way of thinking. God is a new way of thinking. God is a new way of thinking. [29:31] things of good report, any virtue, any praise, think on these things. That's Philippians 4 verse 8. Think on these things. [30:01] It's a new way of thinking. He renews our mind. In the Bible it talks about the washing of water by the word. It talks about the word being like water that washes us. [30:22] It brings cleansing. He gives us His peace. He wants to use our mind to think biblically, to decide things by the Bible. [30:42] These are the maker's instructions. Do you care about God's will for your life? [31:05] Do you care what He wants? Will you do what He wants you to do? [31:20] He tells us here what to do. In John 2 verse 5 it says, Mary, the mother of Jesus said, Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it. [31:34] God's will is good, acceptable and perfect. [31:49] God's will is the very best way to live. And we find His will by His word. [32:08] So study your Bible. Come to Bible study with pastor. Learn God's will by reading His word every day. [32:23] So you know which way to go, who to follow. So you can know more and more how can I please God. [32:38] To find and to do God's will. This is where your purpose and fulfillment can be found. [32:57] What is God's will for my life? God's will is that you be a strong Christian. And if you are an active Christian. [33:15] That you learn His word and want to follow Him. And if you are a Christian, you will be a Christian. That you put your faith in Him and follow Him every day. And if you are an active Christian. [33:28] That you will be a living sacrifice. That you will be a living sacrifice. Have you given yourself to God? Or are you holding something back? [33:40] Are you only half a Christian? Half a Christian is not enough. a christian is not enough yeah it's like in acts 26 28 paul was talking to a man acts 26 28 paul was talking to a man called agrippa and he said almost thou persuadest me to be a christian you're saying you almost persuade me to be a christian he was close but not close enough he was not a christian just almost a christian some people are like that they're close but they're not a christian christian or sometimes they're like um i haven't got this but like a chameleon you know a chameleon a lizard that changes color yeah there's creatures that change color depending where what what they're what color is around them sometimes we can we can make the mistake of trying to blend in and be like the world all around us instead of following jesus fully so i want to ask you to present yourself to god i feel like to be a living sacrifice to surrender your life your will to him and to say to god take me use me for me i give you my life as a living sacrifice the rest of my life for you to use me for you to fill me to lead me for the rest of my life help me to walk in your will to know you more to serve you more to worship you not just with my lips but with my life with my heart he wants your love he wants your heart he wants you to have his truth his best for your life his will let god shape your life not the world let jesus guide your life follow him how can we live to please god it's a new way of living a new way of thinking romans 12 verse 1 we might read that again romans 12 verse 1 [37:41] i beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of god that you present your bodies a living sacrifice holy acceptable unto god which is your reasonable service and be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good acceptable and perfect will of god god bless you god bless you Let us pray. [38:34] Jesus, we love you. Thank you for your love. Thank you for your word. Help us to follow you and to be living sacrifices. In Jesus' name, Amen. [38:49] Hallelujah. Thank you for your love. Thank you.
