We thank God you have tuned in to this message by David and Tree at Carish Church. No hand can help you with the fulfilment of your destiny but the Word of God. May God hand a line with you further into your destiny through this Word. [0:15] Acts chapter 2 verse 1 to 13 And when the day of Pentacles was fully come, they were all together with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. [0:35] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. [0:56] And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men of every nation under heaven. Now, when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together and were confounded because that every man heard them speak in their own language. [1:18] And they were all amazed, they marveled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue wherein we were born? [1:34] Parthians and Medes and Elamites and the dwellers of Mesopotamia and in Judea and Cappadocia, in Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and in the parts of Libya. [1:51] About Cyrene and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians. We do hear them speak in our own tongues the wonderful works of God. [2:07] And they were all amazed and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine. [2:22] Here ends the reading of God's word. Shall we pray, Father? Thank you for bringing us together to hear your word. And to fellowship, thank you for the praise and worship, the songs, and every aspect of the service. [2:35] We have gotten to a crucial moment. We pray, Holy Spirit, breathe upon us. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. You being the triune God, reveal to us things that naturally we can't even find, but can only be discovered in you by revelation. [2:55] As your word is taught, let us discover Jesus and let us see your works amongst us and how you have worked with the early church. That we will know that you will do with us. [3:05] We thank you in Jesus' name. Thank you for the healing of the sick. Thank you for deliverance. Thank you for conviction and salvation. Thank you, O Lord, for revelations. [3:16] Thank you for your power. In Jesus' name. Amen. Hallelujah. Amen. Thank God for the opportunity for us to dig into art again. [3:31] We want to sink our teeth into the book of art and to extract all the nutrients for our spiritual nourishment as much as the Holy Spirit can give us the opportunity. [3:44] So we have understood what the Day of Pentecost signified. We have also understood what happened to the apostles when they were praying on the Day of Pentecost. We have actually also established prior to that the things that they went to do in order to prepare for the Day of Pentecost. [4:01] So five things I said they did. They were obedient. Jesus said, wait. So they were obedient to the voice of Jesus Christ. [4:12] And then they were together with one accord. They were unified. So obedience to Christ, unity. And then they were praying. That's the number three. [4:23] So number one, they were obedient. Number two, they were unified. Number three, they stayed together praying. Number four, they searched the scriptures. And then number five, they were given to apostolic authority. [4:37] Or they submitted. There was an apostolic submission or submission to the apostolic authority. And when all these things were together, it leads us into the chapter two where it says that, and when the Day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all together. [4:53] And suddenly, now, they were all together. It's a continuation of what they have been doing. Unity and praying. All right? And scripture. And submission to apostolic authority in obedience to Jesus. [5:06] And then Bible says that when those things were together, on the Day of Pentecost, suddenly, there came a sound from heaven. When you read there, I think, the Message Bible, it puts it this way. [5:19] I think it said, it wasn't announced. Okay. It said, without warning. There were no signs. Without warning, there was a sound like a strong wind, gale force. [5:34] I suppose we all, we live in UK, we know gale force. The difference between the strong winds and what happened there is that this time, back to our text. [5:45] This time, normally, gale force and strong wind is always outside. But this time, the sound was inside like it. And they look outside. [5:55] Nothing was happening. But it looks like it was inside. It was a sound, as I said earlier on. So they heard a sound like a gale force or a hurricane. And it filled the house where they were sitting. [6:08] Number one, that happened when they were together. One, they heard a sound. There was a sound. Number two, Bible says in verse three, And clothing tongues. [6:19] That's very interesting. As of fire. Let's look at how the NIV people put it. And then, potentially, the New Living Translation. And they saw what seemed to be tongues of fire. [6:33] All right. So it wasn't fire. It seemed, when you look at it, something that you could see. And the only description you can give to this phenomenon is that it appeared. [6:48] It looked like fire. And not just fire. The King James says that clothing or clothing tongues. In fact, when I was studying, other authorities and stuff didn't really mention much about the tongues. [7:05] But it got my attention. What clothing tongues? I was trying to see if I can find a different translation that would use something different from tongues. Because is it different from the tongues in the verse four? [7:18] So look at verse three. Verse three says that clothing tongues like fire. So clothing tongues appeared. And the description of the tongues, the clothing tongues, was it was like fire. [7:31] So it wasn't actually fire. But what they saw was clothing tongues. Does that make sense? And the clothing tongues was like fire. So tongues. And the verse four, they all began to speak with tongues. [7:43] So I was trying to find out, is there a difference between the tongues? I found out that it's the same Greek word that was translated tongues. In the clothing, the verse three. And the same Greek word that was translated, which is glossa. [7:55] And it's the same word that is translated as the organ tongue. So it looks like what appeared is like, actually, it's like a tongue on somebody's head. [8:12] Did you understand that? So it's clothing tongues that appeared. How does that? Let's see how the NIV puts it. The NIV says that. And they saw what seemed to be tongues of fire. [8:26] Tongues. Let's all say tongues of fire. Tongues of fire. New King James. How does New King James put it in the New American Standard Version? I'm just showing you how to study Bible. Not read Bible. [8:38] Study. Sometimes it helps you not to go too far by giving it a wild interpretation. Because if it doesn't fit all the interpretations, how the versions are put in, then maybe you are going off. [8:54] Because maybe. So how does the divided tongues? They all use the word tongues, which got my attention. And now these tongues, the tongues in verse 3 and the tongues in verse 4, even though they were same Greek word, glossar, they were pointing to two different things. [9:15] Because glossar can mean tongue, you know, like a tongue. Or it can also mean like language or dialect. So in the first bit, obviously, it was referring to something you don't, can you see a dialect? [9:30] You can't see a dialect. So then if you said something appeared, you are talking about something you can see. So the first glossar is pointing to the organ. Glossar has organ. Which they're only, unless you have tongue somewhere else in your body. [9:44] But so long as I'm, my basic biologist is concerned, the tongue is only one and it's in the mouth. All right? I hear you can't actually speak without tongue. If they cut off your tongue, that's it. [9:58] You can't speak. You can't speak. So the tongue connotes speech. Speech. It points to something. [10:09] So, suddenly, there appeared to them, of them, what seemed to be like fire, but the appearance, there was tongues. [10:19] Tongues appeared on each one. Or what looks like tongue, not physical tongue. Okay? It was, it seemed to suggest that maybe it's the tongue of God. God was giving them an ability to speak on his. [10:33] So, they appeared, but this one is fire. Fire signifies the nature of God, holiness of God, and purifying power of God. [10:45] So, clothing, tongues, that was like fire. This is no ordinary tongue picture, but the tongue looked like fire. So, it was like my tongue or your tongue, but this time it was on somebody's head, not somebody's mouth. [10:57] It was on somebody's head, and it looked like fire. That's what we, so they appeared to them, clothing, tongues, as of fire. It seems to me that when you look at the next text, it actually seems to throw a bit more light on the clothing tongues. [11:18] The next verse says, you know my hobby. I like it when we all read the scripture in church. So, it's okay for us to read it. All right, let's read it out. Let's go, please. One more time, louder, please. [11:40] Wow. So, now, for things that happened to them, first, they heard the sound. Two, they saw clothing tongues that sat on each of them. [11:53] Okay? And then, three, they were filled with the Holy Spirit. That is the crucial thing. So, the first two things that happened was, it seemed to be outside of them. [12:05] They heard a sound that was outside of them. And then, they saw tongues that was outside of them. But, then, the Holy Spirit filled them inside. [12:17] And when the Holy Spirit filled them inside, something spontaneously happened. Without they having, it was involuntary. When the Holy Spirit filled them. When the Holy Spirit filled them, there was an involuntary reaction. [12:33] So, the fourth thing they did was involuntary. Even though the first thing, they also heard it. It's involuntary, but you can block your ears. It's like, all these things happen without they engineering. [12:47] None of them engineered it. The only thing they engineered was the five things. They obeyed Jesus. They were unified. They prayed. [12:58] They searched the scriptures and apostolic submission. But, the other ones, the sound came from heaven. They couldn't have control over. They heard the sound. Two, clothing tongues of fire didn't ask anyone. [13:08] It just sat on everyone. Because, they were all united there. And then, three. Oh, the biggest thing. The biggest thing they were all waiting for. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah. [13:19] I see somebody being filled with the Holy Spirit. And then, they began to speak with tongues. It was spontaneous. They began to speak with tongues. [13:32] Now, three and four. Tongues and tongues. First one is organ. Second one. The first tongues in verse three. Clothing tongues. It's referring to the tongue as an organ. [13:44] And then, the second one is referring to tongues as dialect. So, then, it looks like what they were able to speak was an ability from God upon them. [13:55] Because, when you study scriptures very carefully, every time God wants to use people, he has a way of speaking through them more. [14:07] That's why I spoke about preaching. He has a way of speaking through them more. When the Holy Ghost came upon them, the first thing Peter did to the outside world was begin to speak to them. [14:19] And, Bible says that they were cut to their heart. They were always speaking. They went everywhere preaching. They went everywhere. Preaching is speaking, okay? Maybe you don't know. But, preaching is speaking. [14:31] It's not even writing. Preaching. When they say someone is preaching, it's speaking. It doesn't always have to be religious. Preaching is a speech. So, they went everywhere speaking. [14:42] But, you can't go speaking without God giving you his tongue. Else, you, that's why I pray that, let's pray the Holy Spirit. God uses preaching, but not every preaching. [14:56] The preaching of the one on whom his tongue is. Do you understand that? If a pastor is going to preach, or any of us, you don't have to be a pastor to preach. [15:07] You can just talk about Jesus anyway. One of the things we have to pray is, so we don't just go reasoning. Reasoning is important. Reasoning is important. [15:18] There must be a lot of reasoning in your preaching. Because, if there's no reasoning in it, it's also another, you open it a different chapter. It's a different thing altogether. So, there must be reasoning in the preaching. [15:29] But, primarily, chief of all, what must be in the preaching is the anointing of God. It's the fire of God. Prayer of God purges. [15:40] Prayer of God burns away chaff. That's why I was teaching some time ago, and I said, that if, let's say, I preach on forgiveness. [15:51] And, there are people, let's say, people in the congregation are very bitter about something. And, I preach on forgiveness. I can reason with them that they were saints. But, it is the tongue of God on the preaching. [16:03] That will give them the fire, the ability to carry out what the preaching is saying. Does that make sense? So, when we keep preaching and we are not seeing results, that means we have to go back to the drawing board. [16:16] Go and collect some tongues from God. Are you going to do that? Go and collect some, or go spend, it pays for a preacher to spend time with God. It's necessary for a preacher to study. [16:28] But, it pays for a preacher to spend time with God. I'm not talking about me as a preacher. You as a preacher. Tell somebody, you are the preacher today. I'm a preacher today. Yeah. [16:39] And, tell the person, I'm a preacher today. I'm a preacher today. That's why you are saying it. If you are not saying that, you are not saying it. So, clothing tongues of fire sat on each of them. [16:52] And, the verse 4 says that, and they all, say all. All. Everyone who was there was entitled. They all were filled. [17:04] This feeling tells us that there seemed to be a gap. Or, there's supposed to be a space. [17:16] Somewhere within us. Because, you can't feel something that has not got space in. Or, that has not got some. I will use the word vacuum. But, wholeness. [17:27] Or, you know, there must be something inside. So, that's why Bible calls us. Watch, this is very important. I've said it before. That's why Bible calls, we believers, more vessels than instruments. [17:41] We can be instruments of God to a certain extent. But, really, we are vessels. Because, what do you do with a vessel? You fill it up. [17:52] So, the more you recognize that you are a vessel, the more it helps you to open up yourself to be filled. That if the Holy Spirit is not filling you, it's likely something will fill you because nature of God's vacuum. [18:06] Romans chapter 9, 22 talks about vessels of wrath and vessels of mercy. Talking about human beings. We are vessels. In 2 Corinthians chapter 4, verse 7, it talks about how, but we have this treasure in earthen vessels. [18:24] We have vessels. We have vessels to be filled. So, it doesn't matter what has happened in your life. One of the things that you should always strive for is that as you walk with God, He fills you more. [18:36] And when it comes to filling, it's not once and for all. Being baptized is once and for all. But being filled is not once and for all. [18:48] So, when you look at Acts chapter 2, verse 4, they were filled. But Acts chapter 4, verse 31, they were filled. Again. They were filled. And you notice that you, and look at Acts chapter 4, verse 8. [19:01] Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit. Filled. Acts chapter 13, verse 9. So, whose name is Paul? Filled with the Holy Spirit. When you read some other translations, it uses the word, full of the Holy Spirit. [19:17] How do you know you are full of something? When you begin to overflow. You can't be filled with the Holy Spirit, and it's not impacting anybody. [19:27] You are the only one who are having a good time. No, it's not properly filled. When you are filled with the Holy Ghost, it always fails to overflow. That's why in Acts chapter 6, it says, look for people who are full of the Holy Ghost to do this work. [19:43] Acts chapter 6. Full of faith and full of... Full. You have to be full to be an effective usher. You have to be full of the Holy Spirit to be an effective sanctuary keeper. [19:57] You have to be full of the Holy Spirit to be an effective deacon. You have to be full of the Holy Spirit to be an effective singer or musician. You have to be full of the Holy Spirit to be an effective, for the work of God, sound man. [20:10] You have to be full of the Holy Spirit to be an effective children's minister. Or whatever you do, video man, photographer, to be useful to the Holy Spirit, you have to be full or filled with the Holy Spirit. [20:26] And it starts with when you are born again. After you are born again, you have to be filled with Him because you are a vessel He can fill. If you are not born again, you are not a vessel He can fill. [20:37] That's why Jesus has to go to heaven or go to the resurrection first, pay for our sins. Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the... [20:50] So He had to take away the sins in John chapter 1 verse 29. Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. And then when you go to four verses later, He said, I saw the Holy Spirit be sending on Him, which indicated that this is the one, verse 33, this is the one who baptizes with the Spirit. [21:11] So He's not only one who takes away sins, but He baptizes with the Spirit. But He can baptize with the Spirit until sin has been taken away. So when He came on earth, His first assignment is come and deal with this issue of sin. [21:26] Now that He's resurrected from the dead, His next assignment is to fill those whose sins have been forgiven with the Holy Spirit. Shout hallelujah. [21:38] So, from the text, you can see that they were all filled, not some. All filled with not water, not liquor. [21:57] What were they filled with? What were they filled with? What qualified each of them to be filled? What necessitated the coming of the Holy Spirit were the five points I spoke about. [22:10] But what qualified each, they were all, each of them, to be filled with the Holy Spirit was primarily the same. New birth. Redemption in Christ. So I don't see why you have been redeemed. [22:24] You are born again. You are in Christ. And you don't desire what no human being can get. Being filled with the Holy Spirit. Or no other human being can get outside of being redeemed. [22:35] When you are redeemed, now the next thing you should desire is the filling of the Holy Spirit. When He resurrected from the dead, He breathed unto them. I've taught this already some time ago. He breathed unto them. [22:46] He said, receive you the Holy Spirit. John chapter 20, verse 18 and 19 and verse 22 particularly. Receive you the Holy Spirit. And He breathed unto them. But they had to wait to be filled. [22:57] So the first one was filling inside. To be filled throughout on the outside like a uniform. Being filled with the Holy Spirit is something exclusive to believers. It's not for all human beings. [23:10] It's only to believers. That's why it's only those who were there. Can I show you, give you another scripture to show you that it's only for believers. In the same chapter 2, verse 39, Peter said, okay, let's start from 38. [23:24] It makes sense. Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ. For the mission, you see where the thing starts from? For what? For what? For what? [23:36] And then what happens? So there need to be remission of sins first. Then receive it. Then He says that for the promise of the Spirit is not only for us. [23:47] It's unto everyone, as many as the Lord God shall call. But you can't receive the Holy Spirit until first of all, your sins have been remitted. So the Lamb of God who remits sins, who takes away the sins of the world, is necessary for the Holy Spirit to come upon us. [24:06] Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. Galatians chapter 3, verse 13 and 14. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having been made a curse for us. For it is written, curse is everyone who hangs on the tree. [24:19] Verse 14. Why? That the blessing of Abraham will come upon us, the Gentiles also, that you receive what? The promise of the Spirit. So the receiving of the promise of the Spirit comes after the cross. [24:33] And so if you've come into the cross, then you have to expect that best gift. Jesus told them in John chapter 16, verse 5 and 6. I told you I'm going, so your sorrow has filled your heart. [24:46] He said, I tell you, it's to your advantage. It is expedient for you that I go. Now, because if I don't go, the Holy Spirit will not come. Now, watch this. This is what it means. That when you are born again, it's good. [24:58] But that is not all. It's actually to your advantage to be filled. Do you understand that? So why is it that you have so much heavily advantage and ignore it? [25:12] I mean, looking for prayers from somewhere. Looking for prayers, looking for help, depending on everybody. But the Holy Spirit, who wants to fill you? [25:22] I see the Holy Spirit filling somebody. In the mighty name of Jesus. Now, you use that they were all filled. In Ephesians chapter 5, verse 18, it says, Do not be drunk with wine, wearing his excess. [25:39] What's the meaning of that? Let's look for a different version. So change the version. To be honest, I don't know if you understand wearing his excess. I think I do, but initially, when you read it, it's not straightforward. [25:51] If I tell you. All right, let's do that. Do not be drunk with wine, which leads to the bouchery. Oh, that's also another word now. What is the bouchery? [26:06] What's the bouchery? All right. Let's go to the New Living Translation. That might be okay. A little lighter on your ear. Don't be drunk with wine. Oh, so is that the bouchery? [26:20] The bouchery will ruin your life. That's just even... Oh, wow. Okay, how does the message put it? Let's see how the message puts it. Don't drink too much. [26:34] Oh, that cheap is your life. I know some of you only focus on too much. Thank you. [26:44] I know you'll be thinking about, is that too much? So a little is fine. New American Standard Version. And the English Standard Version. Do not get drunk with wine. [26:56] For that is dissipation. All right. So, if you get drunk. See, the way this one puts it. Don't get drunk. He didn't say don't drink. Why should I read into it when the thing is... [27:09] This is basic grammar. I'm not trying to make a case. Because I don't drink alcohol. And I've never drank alcohol all my life. So, I am not making a case for drunkiness. Okay. [27:20] I'm not making a case for drinking. But what I'm saying is that sometimes, let's be fair to the text. If you want to make a case about drinking, maybe look for other ones. [27:34] But here, it just said don't get drunk. It didn't say don't drink wine. Pastor, so I can drink wine. Are you asking me that question? It said don't get drunk. [27:48] But let me leave it. Because... I don't want to deviate from my message. We'll come to... One day I have to preach on drinking. [28:01] Drinking both water and coke and wine. And Ray and nephew or somebody and cousins. Jack Daniels. [28:11] So, it says that... All right. Let's get to the text. Don't be drunk. Let's go to New King James, please. Let's leave the rest because of my times. [28:22] New King James. New King James said do not be drunk with wine. Okay. But instead of being drunk with wine, when you get drunk with wine, it leads into things that can destroy a lot of things. [28:33] Including your life. I can't ask how many of us have been drunk before. But how many of you have seen someone drunk before and is misbehaving and spoil a lot of things? Yeah. There are people working in London who were conceived because of drunkenness. [28:49] Yeah. But it was God's plan for them to come. But not for them to... For the means they came through. God can use any means. Look at how Jesus died. It shouldn't have been betrayal. [29:00] But God said, I will show Satan that I'm in charge. So if, just in case your mother got drunk before you came, don't think it was... You are wrong. You are not wrong. [29:11] Your life is not a mistake. Even though your mom made a mistake or your dad made a mistake, your life is not... No life is a mistake. Because life comes from God. Do you understand that? [29:23] Just for you to also know, just so you know, it's not every sexual activity that brings pregnancy. Right? You didn't know that? Oh. [29:36] And there are more millions that never produce babies. So the coming of a baby is God-given. It's God who determines when a child is coming. [29:49] It's not intercourse between husband and wife that determines when a child is coming. Don't forget that. So I'm trying to make a point that a child being born is not the will of man per se. [30:01] But it is in the jurisdiction of God. So no human being is a mistake. It doesn't matter the circumstances surrounding their birth. No human being is a mistake. So don't be filled with wine. [30:13] Because you'll make a mistake and God will use it anyway if he wants to bring somebody. But don't be filled with wine. But instead of being filled with wine, said be filled with the Holy Ghost. [30:25] No. He says that if we should be filled with the Holy Ghost, then that means there's something wine can do which the Holy Ghost can do. [30:36] There are few similarities. When you read that text very carefully, the Bible says that when people heard them, they said these people are filled with new wine. Verse 13. Acts chapter 2 verse 13. [30:47] They said that they are full of new wine. In other words, they are drunk. New wine gets you drunk very quickly. Old wine is different. So they are, they, they, you understand? [31:01] So when they say wine, please, we have to check which one it is. Now, they are full of new wine. Because they were seeing certain mannerisms of drunken people. [31:12] So when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, now let me mention three mannerisms, or three things that when you are filled with wine, it can do for you with the Holy Spirit also does for you. [31:23] Number one, when people are filled with wine, have you noticed that they talk a lot more? They talk a lot more. [31:36] Yeah, give somebody wine, they will say a lot more. Yeah, when they are, when they are, when wine begins to take over, you talk more. Number two, when people are filled with wine, when they, the self-awareness becomes lowered. [31:53] They lose certain level of self-awareness. Am I right? Many years ago, my early days in UK, I saw, because where I grew up, it's, it's, it's, it's, you hardly see women drunk. [32:06] Maybe things have changed now. And, you know, I hardly saw women drunk. And I came to UK, and one evening, I saw some women. They were drunk, and they removed their, and some of them were sitting in the shopping trolley, and they were pushing them. [32:27] And when you look at the kind of woman who was being pushed in the trolley, this seems like a decent person. Why is she doing this? Why? Wine is taking over. [32:38] She's lost self-awareness. Self-awareness is lowered to the extent that you feel, some of you, you don't get drunk, because you take your wig off. At the wrong place. [32:52] So, number one, they talk a bit more. Number two, lose self. So, the more the wine, the more you talk, or the more you lose yourself. And then number three, they forge relationships very quickly. [33:06] They'll make friends very quickly. Before we go, hello. They'll talk to me. Hey, hello. By the time you realize they've made... That's why some men, when they want to picture a certain lady, they have to go and just get tipsy. [33:19] And then, sister, why are you believing a man who is tipsy? He will tell you later that I wasn't aware of what I was doing. In the same way, when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, this every time about me, the way people will think about me, the way people... [33:40] The more you are filled with the Holy Spirit, the less you care about what people will think outside, if you are obeying God. If you are obeying God for some reason, the more you are filled with the Holy Spirit, someone can speak to you in a way that can be very demeaning, but you don't focus on it because you know it might distract what God has asked you to do. [34:02] The more you are so concerned about, human beings are concerned about, when it comes to that, and the people go as far as even things like, personal abuse, you are not serving, or you are not doing what you have to do. [34:14] When there's a family, a father can tell you, don't do this, don't do that. Some of us here, didn't your mother or your father tell you, don't date that guy? And later on, was it all right? [34:26] Is that a family? Is it parental abuse? It's no. Sometimes there are things, obviously the human beings, they're always gray areas, all right? [34:40] But the point I'm making is that, you've come to church, and Asha said, no, there's an empty space here, you have to go there. You said, no, I don't like sitting there, I have to sit. And Asha said, no, you have to go. You take it upon yourself that, Asha doesn't like me, and you walk out of the church. [34:53] It's because, you are too full. of yourself. And every one of us, is full of ourselves. Every one of us. I can be preaching, and still be full of myself. [35:05] You can be singing, and be full of yourself. You can be sitting, it's natural, it's human. So instead of thinking, who is full of themselves, I think we should be focusing on, how can I be full of the Holy Ghost? [35:16] Because the more I'm filled, with the Holy Ghost, it will begin to show, in my reaction. Then you realize that, my husband, should thank Jesus. [35:27] Because, if it was those days, how I would have dealt with him, or what would have, but sometimes, you look at how people, get away with things, and you are happy, they got away with it. But, then you remember, if it was those days, you only speak in tongues, and we cannot see anything, that shows that, you are going less, when it comes to self-consciousness. [35:52] The strongest sign, that you are filled, with the Holy Ghost, is that, there's less, of self-consciousness, and more, of speaking, on the behalf of God. [36:03] When you open your mouth, it doesn't, it might not be quotations, but it lines up, with God. That's why, the tongues, come upon your head. You speak more, about God. [36:15] You speak more, about the things of God. When people hear you, they feel encouraged, to serve God more. Sign of the Holy Ghost. If you are going to sit online, or if you are going to be, streaming online, stream please, those of us, who are bloggers. [36:31] If you are doing it for God, then do it, that by the time, someone finishes listening to you, they want to even, do more for God. They want to do more for God. You know, I'm telling you, you see what, deep Joshua has done, and then you begin to, elaborate, and this, this, this, please, please, please, I think, discipleship setting, can help, but online, it's so vast, you don't even know, who is waiting, for an opportunity, to give their flesh occasion, to sing. [36:59] So, some things, are not worth, talking about. Be filled, with the spirit. [37:11] When you are filled, with the spirit, I tend to, struggle, I tend to struggle, please, forgive me, if I sound, too personal, but I've been trying, to wrap my head around it, for a long time, I tend to struggle, when someone is born again, and it can relate, with other believers. [37:34] I struggle, what kind of, born again version, is this? You don't even have, a believer friend, a believer brother, a believer sister, you relate with, and you know, you are growing together, you don't, you don't, you come, into church, you sit in it, and then after church, you go home, or now, you have resorted, to just watching online, nobody knows you, nobody is in, active fellowship, with you, you are only looking, for miracles, this is not, the version of Christianity, that the Bible prescribes, the more you are, full of yourself, the less you will be able, to build, effective relationships, in church, how many of you, have attempted, building relationships, in church, and you found out, that sometimes, it's not nice, it rubs you, in your flesh, in some area, if you are not, full of the Holy Spirit, your flesh will jump, into it, and it happens, to all of us, every now and then, but the more, we are growing, the more we are being, filled with, the Holy Spirit, the more it doesn't, the more we build, effective relationships, how many, godly relationships, have you had, and kept for a long time, kept for a long time, you were, you know, usually when you get born again, you have a team of people, everybody will get born again, you have somebody, you are pursuing God, sometimes your friends, you are pursuing God together, because when you are, filled with the Holy Spirit, you build relationships, you don't say, ask for me, ask for me, ask for me, [39:04] I don't, ask for me, ask for me, when you are filled, with the Holy Spirit, ask for me, jumps out, ask for me, begins to diminish, begins to diminish, begins to diminish, don't leave the ashes, stay there, because it's, your ego, that is driving you out, don't leave the choir, stay there, don't leave that church, stay there, it's your ego, it's not the word, the word is good, ego is driving you out, it's the ego, that is driving you out, when you become a Christian, there are some things, Christianity, let me use the word, Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit, begins to work on you, he works on you, and you begin to lose, your self awareness, and gain more of, God consciousness, God awareness, and that is what judges, the kind of quality Christian, you have, not necessarily, your quotations, you can quote, not necessarily, your regularity, because you have not, missed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, all the prayer and fasting, you are there, but you are not growing, the Holy Ghost, is not finding an expression, in your life, it's not a sign, that you are growing, and then, if you are free, and you can, and there's gathering, and you are also not going, it's fellowship now, relationship now, you are not, it's also a sign, so those who don't go, it's a sign, and those who also go, is not necessarily, a sign, does that make sense, for goodness sake, not everybody, can make it, to church services, every time, it's, it's not practicable, but when you can, and you don't, you may have to, encourage yourself, and pray, so that, there are some things, when we do, it helps us, build stronger, alliances, and our alliances, will help us, to grow better, and more effective, [41:05] I don't celebrate, a Christian, watch this, that's a strong one, it's good, it goes up, I don't celebrate, a Christian, who is not part, of a local church, and doesn't intend, to be part of a local church, I'm not saying, you are not a Christian, I don't celebrate you, because commitment, develops character, commitment, develops character, they were, all filled, with the Holy Spirit, and we can see, when you are filled, with the Spirit, when you are filled, with wine, these are some of the things, that happen, and when you are filled, with the Holy Spirit, this is also, what can happen, is someone getting something, I think I believe, at this point, let me just, add one more, and then, then it says that, verse five, hmm, and they were, dwelling at Jerusalem, Jews, devout men, out of every nation, now, three categories, of people who were there, when this thing happened, [42:07] Jews, devout men, and then when you look, at the verse eleven, proselytes, okay, and then, verse ten, I'm sorry, when you look at the verse ten, it said, proselytes, let me take this time to, maybe when I get there, I'll talk about the proselytes, so let me just, stay systematically, so, now, four, says that, and they were all filled, with the Holy Ghost, and they began to speak, with tongues, as the Spirit gave them, the utterance, I think, I won't go to five, let me just mention, there are some points, I wanted to mention in here, two points here, number one, they were filled, with the Holy, and they began to speak, when you study scriptures, very carefully, number one, in the Old Testament, it was only about 40 people, who were filled with the Holy Spirit, the feeling of the Holy Spirit, was not, all inclusive, and on all, it was always one, one, about 40 people, in the Old Testament, got filled with the Holy Spirit, but in the New Testament, Bible said, they were all, filled with the Holy Spirit, right, and then, when you study the scriptures, very carefully, most of the time, when people were filled, with the Holy Spirit, there's one, way of, the initial sign, is they speak out, in the Old Testament, as well, when the Spirit of God, fills people, there's, there's some, so in Luke chapter one, verse, 40, 40, 41, 42, talking about Mary, and Elizabeth, when Mary saw, went to Elizabeth's house, she greeted her, and the Bible says that, and when Elizabeth, heard the greetings of Mary, the baby in the womb, lived for joy, and Elizabeth, what, did you see that, she was filled, the Holy, look at the next verse, she was filled, the Holy Spirit, and what did she do, she spoke out, she spoke out, in the verse, [43:54] I think, 70 or 68, downwards, Zachariah was also, filled with the Holy Spirit, and he spoke, Zachariah was filled, with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying, so, and, all throughout, the Old Testament, you see, when people are filled, with their spirit, there's always, one way, speaking, so, we saw here, in Acts chapter, 4, they were filled, with the Holy Spirit, and they began, in Acts chapter 19, verse 6, 6, when Paul had laid his hands, on them, the Holy Spirit, came upon them, and what happened, they spoke, in Acts chapter 10, verse 46, verse 44, whilst Peter, he has speak these words, the Holy Spirit, fell upon all those, who were listening, and, Bible says that, the, verse 45, says, the Jews who came with him, were surprised, that the Holy, how did they know, for the sake said, for they heard them speak, so usually, when the Holy Spirit, came, now, you won't see that, in Acts chapter 8, but, it's implied there, because there must have been something, someone, the sorcerer's soul, in Acts chapter 8, verse 17, when the apostles, laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit, came upon them, verse 18, and when he saw, how would you see, the Holy Spirit, has come upon them, there was no clothing, tons of fire, because that was, it was not, repeatable, it was a repeated experience, okay, and then speaking in languages, you poke and hear, it was a repeated experience, but, what was a repeated experience, was the Holy Spirit, coming upon people, and then when the Holy Spirit, comes upon people, came upon people, we saw, that they spoke, so here, we saw, they were all filled, with the Holy Spirit, and what happened, [45:30] Bible says, in Acts chapter 2, verse 4, they were all filled, with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak, now, in conclusion, to end, to this message, they began to speak, now, they're speaking, what did they speak, they speak, in glossary, now, these tongues, you remember the tongues, dialects, and then verse 3, tongues, the tongue, the organ, now, they spoke with languages, you can, for one, I believe, I believe, some version, it's likely, New Living Translation, or, message Bible might use languages, it's possible, they might use, yeah, there you go, they speak in other languages, so, it is not a false, or wrong interpretation, tongues, it's languages, it's dialect, so, what they spoke, was language, it's not gibberish, it was languages, now, this brings a big situation, that people use, it has become, a divisive issue, in the church, the church, worldwide, tongues, one of the questions, people will ask is, there, look, look at that, they began to speak with tongues, and then, those who have been there, they said, verse 7 says that, are these not all Galileans, did you see that, they were all amazed, saints, are they not all Galileans, verse 8 says that, and how hear we, every man in our own, see that word again, tongue, it's language, our own dialect, our own language, so, we, it's their head, so, let's say these guys, on the front seat, are speaking, and I can hear them speak, a certain language, they are not even aware of, where I came from, and God waited, on the day of Pentacles, [47:11] Jews travel from, all over the world, because it's one of the, it's actually, the biggest, feast, that has more people, in attendance, because, the timing, around, it's more summer, so people try, it's easy for people, as I mentioned, the other time, so, there are more people, and when you look, at the verse five, it says that, they've come from, King James used, every nation, under heaven, can you imagine, but when you read, other versions, it puts it, in a better call, how does the New King James put it, out of, New King James please, out of every nation, New King James also uses, out of every nation, but I believe, if you read the NIV, or the New, the international, how does the NIV put it please, God fearing Jews, from every nation, under heaven, in other words, watch, this is very important, it was Jews, from every nation, it doesn't mean, everybody from every nation, so, if, there were no Jews, in Britain, Britain might not be represented, do you understand that, or devout men, or proselytes, there are no Britons, because people mentioned, the nations that were from there, it was, it's unambiguous, it mentioned, that's why I took my time, to read it back, time will not permit me, we'll go into that, next time, mention, but the point here is, they had them, in their own language, nations have different languages, [48:27] Genesis chapter 11, God scattered them, and scattered their language, for, in Acts chapter 2, on the day of Pentacles, God brought people, from different nations, and then he brought them, the language, that they could all understand, now, the point here is, that they spoke in languages, people can understand, how come you say, you are also filled with the Holy Ghost, and you are speaking in tongues, and no one can understand that, that's what, they say, so when we come to church, they say, let's pray, you are speaking in tongues, and no one can understand, can I use these few moments, to talk about this subject of tongues, no one can understand, the tongues you are speaking, what, is there a difference, is there a difference, between the tongues, that people speak nowadays, which seem, to a lot of people, to even the speakers, themselves as gibberish, 1 Corinthians, touches on that subject, of tongues, in a very important context, 1 Corinthians chapter 14, verse 2, it said, if a man speak in a tongue, okay, if I, he who speaks in a tongue, what, does not speak to me, does not speak to God, now watch this, in the first place, what happened, on the day of Pentacles, how many of you know, they were not speaking to the man, when you look at the verse, 11, and verse 12 particularly, actually, verse 12, it says that, [49:54] Arabians, how, we do hear them speak, in our own tongues, what, they were praising God, they were not talking, no, when we get there, to be interesting, there's some of the things, I'll say about this act, they are not talking, to the people, they were actually, praising God, so, he who speaks, in an unknown tongues, or he who speaks in tongues, does not speak to men, 1st Corinthians 14, 2, but speaks to God, right, so, if you don't understand, the tongue, I'm speaking, yeah, yeah, so, what, anyway, it says that, there, it says that, for no, so, this tongue, he's talking about, is certainly different, from the tongues, they actually spoke, on the day of Pentacles, because, this one, has got this, for no man, understands, the one they spoke, they understood, so, that means, there's a certain type, of tongues, that you can speak, and no one understands, hello, he says, no one understands, he says, however, it's not gibberish, in the spirit, the person is speaking mysteries, in the verse 13, he says, verse 13 and 14, he said, if I speak in, an unknown tongue, you see that, now he has added, an adjective, an unknown tongue, he's using the adjective, unknown, nobody knows about that, so, it's not surprising, that someone is speaking in tongues, and you don't understand, because you are not supposed, to understand anyway, it's an unknown tongues, they shall speak with, new tongues, [51:35] Mark chapter, 16 verse 17, they shall speak with, new tongues, unknown tongues, and other places, you hear strange tongues, which is different, from other tongues, so, there's a difference, between other, Acts chapter 2 verse 4, they spoke in, other tongues, is it right, they spoke in, other tongues, but, in first Corinthians chapter, 14, verse 13 and 14, we speak in, unknown tongues, so, there's a difference, so, which one is, inspired by the Holy Ghost, both of them, the first one, was a supernatural act, Bible says, as the Holy Spirit, inspired them, a supernatural act, because people have, come from the world, and that's what, brought their attention, we're going to, go deeper into that, next week, however, when it comes to, this second one, that we speak, or you speak, in church, first Corinthians chapter, 14 verse 18, he said, if I speak in, unknown, he said, [52:38] I thank God, I speak in, Paul spoke in tongues, Paul spoke in tongues, and not the tongues, that they spoke in, Acts chapter 2 verse 4, because, if, if it was the, Acts 2 verse 4, he wouldn't say, what he said, in the verse 19, he said, I thank God, I speak in tongues, however, in the church, I rather speak five words, with my understanding, so that, by my voice, I can teach others, when I come to church, to come and teach, when I come to church, to come and communicate, why do I have to do it in tongues, that's madness, but, when it comes to me praying, I speak in tongues, more than all of you, because tongues, is not, a language, for human communication, so, those who say that, why is it that you are speaking in tongues, no one understands, but why do you have to understand, I'm not speaking to you anyway, now, if I'm speaking to you, then you should understand, and if I come and speak to you, in tongues, I better make sure, there's somebody, with the gift of interpretation, to interpret the message, [53:40] I'm giving, because, human beings, don't understand tongues, human beings, don't understand tongues, so, it's not the same action, Paul's own, was not even the action, after two verse four, because, he said, he speaks in tongues, so, if Paul speaks in tongues, then, it's a good thing, and they were all, filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began, to speak with tongues, as the Spirit, gave them, or trans, being filled, the Holy Spirit, gives you so many benefits, in life, it's, first of all, it starts with, what God can do, through you, and it begins to overflow, to affect, everything you do, affect people, you relate with, and affect the community, you find yourself in, did somebody receive something, hallelujah, praise the Lord,
