Following your feelings rather than trusting God leads to trouble in every part of life.

Each member of Isaac’s family made choices driven by feelings, schemes, or self-interest rather than God’s clear Word. Isaac relied on his senses, Rebekah turned to manipulation, Jacob embraced deception, and Esau sought blessing without repentance. Their choices fractured their home and revealed the cost of following desire over obedience.

In the midst of this we see the steady purpose of God, who fulfills His plan even when people fail. We each need to consider the consequences of our choices and the need to align our life with God’s will rather than impulses or circumstances.

Isaac faced famine, fear, and conflict, but God used those pressures to expose where he trusted his own plans instead of God’s promise.

Think about the “wells” in your life—your walk with God, your home, your church—and how sin, busyness, or neglect may have started to close them off. God cares more about your faithfulness than your comfort. Simple obedience and worship can speak loudly to the people around you.

Watch the full message to be encouraged to stay where God wants you, pick up the shovel again, and let Him grow you through the trials you face.

You’ll see that God’s providence reaches even into what feels small or insignificant, and that He’s never absent in your setbacks.

The same God who made iron swim still works in your life with purpose and precision. Watch how this familiar passage reveals God’s attention to detail and His care for those who trust Him.

It calls for daily surrender. From Romans 12:1–2, we’re reminded that God wants believers who willingly give themselves to Him in obedience and holiness.

Stay alert to the pull of the world and resist its pressure to compromise truth. Renew your mind continually through God’s Word, letting His Spirit shape your thoughts and actions. True transformation begins when you stop fitting into the world’s mold and start pursuing the perfect will of God.

In fact is it happens when you stop paying attention and stop being intentional. Hebrews 2 warns that when you stop giving careful attention to Scripture, you begin to slip away without realizing it.

Christians drift through neglect: Bible reading fades, prayer loses urgency, and the things of this world are given attention over the things of God. The way to prevent this drift is to stay anchored in the Bible, be intentional in your relationship with Jesus, and pay close attention to your walk with God.

God hasn’t changed, but your closeness to Him depends on whether you’re rowing toward Him or letting the current pull you away.

When believers set aside God’s Word, they become vulnerable to unbiblical teachings. Last week, a prediction about the rapture spread online and some Christians were deceived; even though the Bible says no one knows the day or hour. That mistake wasn’t harmless; it gave the world reason to mock God and left some believers shaken because they lacked a strong foundation in God's Word. Don't be drawn away by false claims and unbiblical teachings. We must each know God's word for ourselves.

Jacob was used to relying on himself. He was strong and had always figured out how to handle the various situations he was in. However, God would challenge his self-reliance and bring Jacob to the place of making the choice to live by faith and trust in God and His provision and protection.

Self-reliance is a weakness we all struggle with. True faith requires that we relinquish control and allow God to weaken our self-reliance so we can be strong in faith.

Faith means trusting God to work things out rather than striving in one's own power.
