[0:00] We're going to look at Luke 12, 29. And you know, serving God is the most exciting thing in the world. You don't get involved in it because of the money. [0:12] You don't get involved in it because of the education. You don't get involved in it because of the popularity. You get involved in it because you believe God. And so I would like to challenge you, and I'd like to challenge the whole church. [0:25] I'm going to preach to you tonight about doubting God and what it does. And I don't care who you are, if you're in the ministry or not in the ministry, it's easy to doubt God. And we've decided that we don't believe and believe in God because the Pentecostals do that. [0:38] And so if whatever I'm going to say tonight, you're going to call it name it, claim it, and I'm going to call it Bible. Because I'm going to read it straight out of the Bible. And every issue you have with it, you have to take it up with Jesus because he said it. So you and I need to believe God. [0:52] And you guys are going to step out and go do ministry. I don't know where you'll go, and I don't know how the finances will be taken care of. I don't understand any of that, but I know this. You can trust God. He's been working in my life a long time. [1:03] He's always kept his word, and he's good. Luke chapter 12 and verse 29. The Bible said, And seek not ye what you shall eat or what you shall drink, neither be ye of a doubtful mind. [1:15] That's where the message comes from. Don't be doubters. Why don't you underline that? How many of you got that in your Bible? Neither be ye of a doubtful mind. Don't be doubters. [1:26] Don't go around doubting. How many of you have a doubting problem? Say amen. Say oh me. Oh me. We got doubting problems. Underline it in your Bible. Read that last part with me together, if you would. [1:37] Starting with neither. Neither. Neither be ye of a doubtful mind. Neither be ye of a doubtful mind. We ought not be doubters. I will just go ahead and confess before I preach. [1:49] My name ought to be called Doubting Austin most of the time. So this is not by any means like I'm some great man of faith and I believe in God all the time. It's not the way it works at all. [2:00] I'm just telling you these are truths I need to constantly remind myself of. Several of you are already in ministry doing stuff, but you want to know some things here. [2:11] So open your Bibles if you would. The first John chapter 4 and verse 18. Number one thing. Doubting God makes us miserable. Doubting God makes us miserable. [2:22] It makes us anxious and worried. Makes us live in suspense. We're always wondering what's going to happen. If our thing's going to work out. Is God going to come through? Is the ministry going to go forward? [2:33] Am I going to be able to pay my bills? Are my children going to turn out right? Will this airplane stay in the sky that I'm flying in? Will my wife keep loving me? And it's always everything. [2:44] We're doubting all the time. And it makes us miserable. It makes us. Your God never intended for you to be a doubter. He says in the verse, don't be of a doubtful mind. [2:57] Hope you got that underlined. In 1 John 4 18. He said, I don't want you to doubt because it causes fear. 1 John 4 18. He says, there is no fear in love. But perfect love casts out fear. [3:08] Because fear has torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. Now this is John. And John when he writes his gospel. Doesn't even call himself John. He just calls himself the one Jesus loves. [3:19] Like there's 12 of us. But there's one of us. That he really loves. 11 other guys. There's Peter James. And don't mention John. There's Peter James. The one God loves. The one Jesus loves. The rest of them. [3:30] So he's big on love. And here's what he says. He said, when you doubt. When you're in fear. There's not love. So look at the verse to me. I want you to open your Bible. So you'll mark it. [3:41] It says, fear causes torment. Did you underline that? It really doesn't say causes. It said it has torment. So when you live doubting. When you live doubting. When you live fearful. [3:51] It brings torment. The Bible says, love doesn't have fear. Fear causes torment. Fear is a sign that our love isn't mature. Look at the last part of the verse. [4:02] He that feareth is not made perfect in love. If I fear. It's because I'm not really trusting God. So there's no fear in love. So you say, well I am a. [4:13] I am saved. I do love God. But maybe your faith isn't mature. I know mine isn't mature. My love isn't mature. So fear causes torment. [4:25] That makes me anxious. Worried. In suspense. It makes me miserable. Doubt. Doubt. Moves into the vacuum. Where there's no love or faith. Doubt. Moves into the vacuum. [4:35] Where there's no love. Or faith. In Mark chapter 4. Verse 35. Jesus tells the 12. Let's pass over to the other side. And so he gets them in the boat. And heads them across over the other side. [4:46] And the storm comes up. And he's down above the ship. And he's got his head on a pillow. And he's asleep. Now you and I both know. He knew exactly what was going to happen. He was God in human flesh. He didn't even have to keep an eye open. [4:57] All the time when I preached. I'd say he was preaching. And he had his eye open. Watching them. Just see what they do. But he didn't have to do that. He's God. He knows what's going to happen. And they come running downstairs. And they wake him up. And they say. Master. Verse 38. [5:08] Don't you care? We're about to die. Master. Master. Carest thou not? That we perish? And he wakes up and says. After he calms the storm. [5:18] All he does is stand up. He's so funny. He just stands up. Hey wind. Stop it. Wind stops. That's because when you make the wind. You can't do anything you want to do. Amen. He's the creator of God. Wind stop it. [5:28] Peace be still. You know. The wave. Settle down. That's enough. And it's all over. And he said. Why are you so fearful? Why is it? How is it that you have no faith? You've been hanging around me. [5:40] All this time. I've been meeting your needs. I've been working in your life. I'm a powerful God. You know I'm powerful. And yet you still doubt me. If he loved him. [5:50] They might have thought. Why did he put us in the middle of a storm? If he loved him. Why wouldn't he take care of them? Didn't he know what was going to happen? Didn't he have power to take care of them no matter what happened? Why did it seem that he wasn't the least bit worried? [6:02] You know I could often think that about it when things go wrong. But doubt. Doubt fills up that vacuum where love and faith belong. Doubt fills up that vacuum where love and faith belongs. [6:15] Doubt makes us unstable. Doubt makes us unstable. Well in James chapter 1 and verse 5. The apostle James writes. James writes in James 1.5. [6:26] If you lack wisdom. Ask God. Let him ask God. But in verse 6 he says. Ask in faith. Don't waver. Just ask and believe. Don't go to me. [6:37] I don't know if you really want to help me. I'm not sure if you believe in this. I'm not sure if you're going to do this or not. I ain't sure how you feel about this. I thought I'd ask for wisdom. But I don't know if you want me to ask for wisdom. If you do want me to ask for wisdom. I'm asking. If you don't want me to. I'll try to take my ass back. [6:47] And he said. Just ask. Don't pull in that junk. Just ask. Just ask. In faith. Nothing wavering. Verse 7. Because if you doubt. You're like the sea. You're like the waves. [7:00] Being driven by the wind. And if you think that you'll receive anything. You're crazy. Let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. [7:10] Some days I believe God. Some days I doubt God. Some days I think God will work in my life. And he said. If that's the way you are. You're unstable in all your ways. Doubt makes us miserable. We can't get anything from God. [7:21] Well you don't have to overcome the world. You don't have to overcome the world. This is what the Bible says in 1 John chapter 5 and verse 4. For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world. [7:32] How many of you are born of God say amen? You are already an overcomer. The darkest day of my entire life. The darkest day of my entire life. I preached that Sunday morning. [7:43] I will win. In this too. Because I knew one thing. I was in the middle of hell itself. I was hurt. I was embarrassed. I was broken. I was dying inside. [7:55] But I knew one thing. I can't lose. I'm a child of the king. Amen. I got a God in heaven that loves me. I got a God in heaven that answers prayer. And what's the word of God overcomes the world. [8:06] What is it that overcomes the world sir? This is the victory that overcomes the world. Even our faith. So doubt makes you miserable. By the way. It's not faith in your faith. It's faith in who you trust in. [8:17] Amen. Some of you guys are like I hope I got enough faith. It don't take much faith. It takes a big God. It's a small amount of faith than a big God. I hope you understand that. It's not like God's up in heaven saying you got 99% of faith. [8:29] This is not some video game where your faith meter is going low. So and God said you got to run over and grab some faith because if you don't I ain't going to do nothing. God's like I'm not that worried about how much faith you got. I don't want you to believe in me. [8:40] I'll take care of it. They asked George Mueller the great preacher who was the man of faith. They said you were given the gift of faith. He said no I wasn't. He said I didn't have any more faith than anybody else. He said faith's like a muscle. You don't use it. [8:51] It's awful weak. You learn to use it. It gets stronger. Number two. First one doubt makes us miserable. Number two doubt hinders God's work. Doubt hinders God's work. [9:03] I'm going to read you verses from the Bible and I want you to know this. Where vision goes has a lot to do with how much we're willing to believe him. And what you guys will be used to do will have a lot to do with how much. [9:13] And let me explain something to you in the Bible. I ain't talking theology books. But in the Bible God says stuff like this. If you'd have believed me I'd have done more. He doesn't say I already wrote it down. I knew you was going to fail. I planned your failure for you. [9:24] He said I was going to do something but you didn't believe me. Watch and see if that's what it says. Go with me if you would to Matthew chapter 13 and verse 58. Matthew chapter 13 and verse 58. [9:35] And he did not many mighty works there. Somebody read out loud with me why he didn't. Because of their unbelief. He didn't. He got there and he said I'm not going to do a lot of mighty works here because they don't believe me. [9:47] George Mueller again. The man of faith. He said they tell you location, location, location about your business. And he said I'd say prayer, prayer, prayer about your business. [9:58] He said you can put your business on the main street and pay a lot of rent. Or you can put it on the back street. If you talk to God enough he'll help them find your business. Believe God. Believe God. [10:10] Something wrong in the church we don't believe God. We're here supposedly because we believe God. Let's believe him. The work of God hinges on faith or doubt. Will they believe God? In Matthew 12 and 21 he said if you have faith and doubt not. [10:23] Tell that fig tree like I did. If you have faith and doubt not. Believe me. Believe me. Verse 22. What things whoever you shall ask in prayer believe and you shall receive. You say that's for charismatics. [10:35] Why don't you mark it in your Bible like it. Okay. Put a P there for Pentecostal. And say if we was one then that'd work. But we're B for Baptists. Which means bums that can't get anything from God. Know what that means. God said that didn't he? [10:47] God said that. God wants to work in your life. God wants to work in your life. Look at what he said in Mark chapter 6 and verse 5. By the way is Jesus talking. In Mark chapter 6 and verse 5 he said. And he could there do no mighty work. [11:01] Save that he laid his hands on a few sick folk and he healed them. I wish you'd underline in that verse. You need to look it up. He said he could there do no mighty work. This is God. And he said I can't do any mighty work here. [11:11] I'll heal a few people but I can't do much here. That's God in human flesh. He couldn't do much. And then in verse 6. And he marveled because of their unbelief. I want you to understand. It says Jesus is going. [11:22] I just don't get it. They don't believe me. I just don't get it. He marveled. He was shocked. He was like I cannot believe these people. I am God in human flesh. And they don't believe me. [11:33] They don't believe me. And he didn't do many things there. And he went about their villages teaching. You see believing God has to be a core belief in our heart. In Mark 11 22. [11:44] Jesus answering said unto them. Have faith in God. Believe God. In verse 23. He said. For verily I said to you. Whosoever shall save this mountain. Be thou removed. [11:55] And be thou cast at sea. And shall not doubt in his heart. But shall believe. That those things which he saith. Shall come to pass. He shall have whatsoever he saith. He said. Believe me. [12:06] Say you. Have faith in God. And believe it. In your heart. This is a whole New Testament lesson. I don't have time to go through. But it's an amazing thing. In the New Testament. That there were a lot of people. That weren't Jewish people. [12:16] That would believe God. That Jewish people were too educated. They had been to too many seminary classes. And they had read too many theology books. And had too many dead heads. Out of a seminary. Teach them that God couldn't. [12:27] And so they couldn't get anything out of God. And so God says. Since y'all won't believe me. I'll do it with other people. You say. That's not in the Bible. Hang on. Got your Bible with you. Let's go to Luke chapter 4 verse 25. [12:38] I tell you of a truth. Many widows there were in Israel. In the days of Elias. When the heavens was shut up. Three and a half years. Or three years and six months. [12:48] When a great famine was throughout all the land. But none of them. Unto none of them was Elias sent. Save to Sarepta. A city of Sidon. Unto a woman that was a widow. God said. [12:58] There's a whole lot of widows in Israel. I could have used. But I just chose the one over. And said. You know why he did don't you. Because when he walks up to her. And says. Hey. I need you to give me that last bite of food. You got. She had to believe God was going to do something. [13:09] If he'd have said that to that Israelite woman. Who'd had enough seminary classes. She'd have said. I know. You claim God's going to take care of me. But I don't trust that. So I'll lead it. And then you can figure out what to do. God wants somebody to believe him. He said. [13:19] There's a lot of widows. In Israel. But God didn't do it there. Chapter 4. Luke chapter 4. Verse 27. He said. There were many lepers in Israel. But God went to Naaman. The Syrian. In Matthew chapter 8. [13:30] Verse 5. A centurion comes to see Jesus. And the centurion needs help. And the centurion tells him. And the centurion said. I don't. I'm not worthy. You'd come to my house. I just want you to answer my prayer. [13:42] I know you can. Just speak the word. It'll happen. And what's beautiful in verse 10. Jesus heard it. And he marveled. Jesus was like. Wow. Wow. [13:53] And then he said in verse 10. I have not found so great faith. No. Not in all the Baptist. Sad truth. No. Not in Israel. Amen. Sad truth. There was a woman of Canaan. [14:05] Matthew 15. 21. Jesus went thence. And departed the coast of Tyre and Sidon. And a woman of Canaan. She came to me. She said. I need help. I need help. My daughter is grievously vexed from the devil. [14:16] And he ignored her. He ignored her. It says in verse 23. He answered her not a word. And the disciples came and said. Let's get rid of that woman. But he answered and said. Basically he goes. [14:27] Lady. I was not sent to the lost. I was only sent to the lost sheep of Israel. Not to you. And when she heard that. She worshiped him. Said. Lord help me. Said. I ain't listening to you. I wasn't sent to you. [14:38] She just fell on her face. And goes. Lord help me. I gotta have help. I ain't going nowhere. I need you. Say amen right there. Lord help. And he said. Then he said. He said. [14:49] Well it ain't right for me to take the children's bread. And give it to dogs. I mean. This poor woman. That's a third time she's been rebuffed. And she said. Now I know that's true. Jesus. [15:00] But even the puppies get to eat the crumbs. That fall off the master's table. He goes. Oh woman. Look at verse 28. Oh woman. Great is thy faith. Be it unto thee. Even as thou wilt. Said. [15:10] Man I like you lady. You believe God. Here's the way we do. God I'm asking you for something. He doesn't answer. We go. Okay. That's it. Forget it. Then somebody rebuffs us a tad. And we go all upset. [15:21] And don't do anything. But these people believe. There was a wicked woman. In Luke 7 36. Well the Pharisees had Jesus come by the house to eat. And they were at the house. And there was a woman in the city. Evidently she was a prostitute. [15:32] She was a sinner it says. And she brought an alabaster box of wine. And she washed his feet. Washed. Washed. Washed. Making sure I'm saying that right. Washed his feet with tears. Wiped them with the hairs of her head. [15:43] And kissed his feet. Anointed them with ointment. And everybody in the room is going. What kind of. Doesn't he know what kind of woman that is that's touching him. She's a sinner. She's a sinner. Jesus said. [15:54] A guy had. A guy had two debtors. And he forgave them. But one of them owed a bunch. One of them owed a little. Which one of them loves him the most. He said the one he forgave the most. Amazing. [16:04] Every story. Where they just believed God. So I want to tell you something. There's going to be a ton of junk. You're just going to have to step out there. And don't worry about what the Baptists believe. Fooey on the Baptists. [16:15] And fooey on the Presbyterians. And fooey on the Calvinists. And fooey on every theology book you read. Just believe God. And watch him do something. He's going to do big stuff with you. I could tell you stories. You wouldn't believe. [16:25] I've told you stories. You don't believe them. You're like he's a nut. I'm just telling you. You've got a big God. Who hears and answers prayer. Why do we doubt God? [16:37] Why do we doubt God? Maybe it's because we're too close and accustomed. You see sometimes when you're around spiritual stuff. It becomes old hat every day. [16:48] Regular stuff. In Matthew 13, 53. They were coming to his own country. Jesus was coming. He was talking to Aaron. And everybody said. Isn't that Mary and Martha's. Isn't that Mary and Joseph and Mary's kid? [16:59] Don't we know him? Don't we know his brothers and sisters? And Jesus said. A prophet's not without honor. Saving his own country and his own house. It seems that Jesus didn't do much stuff around him. Because none of them believed him. [17:09] Because they thought he was a regular guy. It was like they were used to him. That's the Jesus we saw playing soccer out in the street when he was six. We don't believe him much. Something I've learned. [17:20] In the years in the ministry. Is it's easy to get used to the pulpit. It's easy to get used to the Bible. It's easy to get used to church buildings. It's easy to get used to doing all this stuff. So that you stop believing God. [17:31] Because you're just so used to it. We've got to not be used to it. Maybe. It's because they wanted an explanation. Like God. [17:42] Why were you so good to them and not so good to us? And so you start comparing yourselves among yourselves. Which means you're not wise. That seems to be what happens in Luke chapter 4 and verse 14. Jesus returned and the power of the spirit unto Galilee. [17:53] Went out a fame of him. He was being glorified of all. The Bible says. And he stood up in front of them and said. This scripture is fulfilled in your ears. And then in verse 23 it says. [18:04] He said. They said. You do all kinds of big stuff everywhere else. Why don't you do something here in your own countries. In your own country. Why do you do it for everybody else? Some of us could easily say. [18:15] Well why didn't God answer my prayer? Why does God answer somebody else's prayer? You could easily begin to play a pouting game. Instead of a praising game. You could begin to become a whiner and a complainer. Instead of a believer. [18:27] You can trust God. You can trust God to do many things. And so he goes in the same story. Verse 25. He said. There was a lot of widows in the land. But I didn't do it with the Jewish ladies. [18:37] There were a lot of lepers in Israel. Verse 27. But I didn't do it with them. And everybody got really mad. They said. Why are you talking bad about us? They got really mad. Maybe we feel like we deserve different. [18:49] Or better treatment than we're getting. That's why they got offended. And said. Why do you do it with everybody else? Maybe we believe that he would do it for someone else. Just not me. I think that's probably the biggest problem I've had all my life. [18:59] All my life I've thought. He'll do it for that guy. He's good looking. I wasn't born good looking. I don't have all the good looks. I don't have all that stuff. But he'd do it for that other guy. I was born in the country. Raised by a country family. He'd probably do it for the other guy. [19:09] He's good looking. He could sing. He could do stuff. And sometimes I doubt God could do it for me. I knew God could. I just didn't think he'd do it with me. But real faith says. I know God can. I know God will. I know God can and will with me. [19:21] Right here. Right now. I'm going to do it. I've told the students this. But I remind you. Every boy, every young man in Israel knew that day that God could take out Goliath. Everybody in the whole crowd knew it. [19:33] Every man there knew it. Saul knew it. Jonathan knew it. They all knew God could. They all knew that God could use a man to do it. But what they didn't know was that God could with them. Old David was a nut. [19:45] He wakes up. He walks up to Saul. And he said. Have no fear. For I am here. I'll take care of that guy. He's walking around the whole community. He said. What they said they're going to do for the guy that kills a guy. What they said they're going to do for him. [19:55] What kind of dingbat talks like that. They're all laughing at him. He said. You can't do it. You should go back home with a few sheep your daddy has. Old David's like. Didn't you say I could get a wife out of the seal? If you mean if I could. [20:06] I'll get to. I'm married to the king's family. Woo. That's coming off the farm big time. Get to marry to the king's family. I like that pretty good. He said. Here. Try my armor on. I can't use the armor. But when he got to the battlefield. You know what he did. [20:17] Don't you? He took off running straight. Goliath comes out. And he said. Hey Goliath. You come here. You're a big muscle man. You got a lot of weapons. You look like a guy. I could whoop anybody. But I come in the name of the Lord Jesus. [20:28] For it's all. I'm going to cut your stinking head off. Feed your body to the birds. It's over boy. And he took off running straight at him. That ain't the way you do it. If you grew up watching those David and Goliath movies. When we was a kid. David's dancing around. [20:39] And Goliath's throwing spears at him. And David's like dodging. That ain't Bible. Bible is. He just took off running. Bam. Didn't kill him. Just knocked him over good. Ran over and said. Excuse me. Can I borrow your sword a minute? [20:50] Chopped his head off. By the way. For the next several days. He walked around with that giant's head in his hand. He walked around and said. Yeah. I told y'all God. Good. Check it out. How do you like that? Can you imagine when he comes in for supper at the Cracker Barrel? Walks in and says. [21:02] Man. Can you bring an extra chair? I got. I got his head here. It's Goliath's head. It's a big head. I need a big chair. Believing God. Instead of doubting God. Let me show you something about that in the Bible. Time to quit. [21:13] I'm going to get fired. Believing God. Instead of doubting God. Look at Romans chapter 4. In verse 17 and following. I'll just give you several things that you can mark there if you would. In Romans chapter 4. Believing God means you hope against hope. [21:25] No reason to believe except the character of God. Hope against hope. In other words. What happens is I'm going to say. I don't see how this could ever work. In all honesty. I don't believe there's any human way this could happen. [21:37] But I'm going to hope anyway. Romans 4.18. Who against hope believed in hope. That he might become the father of many nations. According to that which was spoken. So shall thy seed be. That's Abraham. By the time Abraham finally has a son. [21:51] He's an old man. And his wife can't have babies anymore. But he's still believing God. He's hoping. Hoping. He's hoping. He's not considering the circumstances. Romans chapter 4 verse 19. [22:02] He doesn't look around and say. Economy is looking pretty bad. Not sure my business is going to be in business tomorrow. I'm not sure. He said. No. I ain't going to consider any of that. Look at verse 19. And being not weak in faith. [22:13] He considered not his own body now dead. When he was about 100 years old. Neither the deadness of Sarah's womb. You know. He could have walked in and said. Baby. God said we're going to have a kid. But he ain't looked at you. You are one dead old woman. [22:24] You have dried up. No baby's coming from you. No baby's coming from me. But God said it's going to have us. Here's what he actually did. He walked in and said. Woman. You ain't going to believe this. I know you'll pass the age of childbearing. But you better get out the nursery. [22:35] And get her fixed up. He said we're having a baby. That's what the Bible says he did. It's time to not consider the circumstances. How about another verse. Verse 20. He didn't stagger. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief. [22:48] But was strong in faith giving glory to God. He said. Have a baby. Wow. All right. Having a baby. That's exactly what David did when he took off running. That's what Peter did when he jumped out of the boat. [23:00] And he started walking. Everybody in the Bible just says. If God says it. I think I'll believe it. I remember standing up on a mission field. Not knowing if anybody gets saved. Not knowing if any lives will be changed. And preaching and thinking. Watch this. [23:11] God's fixing to do something big. And he did. Bunch of us believed God for a meeting in the basement at John Pearson's house. And it looks like God did something there too. Romans chapter 4 and verse 21. [23:23] He was fully persuaded. And being fully persuaded that what he had promised he was able to perform. I believe God can do what God says that God can do. I believe him. So my last point to be done in a minute. [23:35] Quit doubting God. Quit doubting God. Number one. Confess it as sin. It is a sin to doubt God. [23:48] I just want you to picture this for me just a second. Your child walks into the kitchen at lunchtime. Or into the dining room at lunchtime. And looks up at you and says. Mama I really am hungry. [23:58] And I'd like something to eat. But I doubt you'd ever be able to fix it or would. I doubt you care enough about me to fix my meal. That would be a very hurtful thing for your child to say. Amen. But we look up at God and say that all the time. [24:10] Well the young man was talking to me this week. And he said something about God. And I said. Let's be careful. Only say things that make God look good. I said. He's listening. Let's make big out of him. [24:20] Amen. You can't make bigger out of God than he is. How do you make bigger out of the biggest? You can't make bigger. So let's believe God. And say like we do. So it's a sin. The Bible said in Romans 14.23. [24:31] Whatsoever is not of faith is sin. In Hebrews 11.6 it says. Without faith it's impossible to please him. Confess it as a sin. Number two. Focus on the God of your salvation. [24:42] You have to focus on God. In Isaiah 26.3. He said. Thou will keep him in perfect peace. Whose mind is stayed on thee. Now you listen to what I'm going to tell you right here. [24:53] Church people. You got financial problems. Your bills aren't getting paid. You don't know how you're going to get stuff done. You're kind of in a pootie mood. Just go ahead and admit it. You're hanging. You're hanging. [25:04] Everybody hates me. Nobody loves me. I think I'll go eat worms. That's your theme song. Amen. And that's the way you're living. And the whole truth is. That God in heaven is like. [25:15] If you just look at me. And trust me. And think about me. You'd find out I'm a pretty good God. And I do pretty good. Take care of my people. And he'll give you peace. Yes. In Philippians chapter 4 verse 8. [25:25] He said. Here's what I want you to think about. What's true. What's honest. What's just. What's pure. What's lovely. What's of good rapport. That's what I want you to think about. Number three. Believe God. And ask him for more help. [25:36] You already do believe God. You wouldn't be sitting here. If you didn't believe him. Some. He knows that. You know. He doesn't ever look down from heaven. And go. Y'all so dang. You can't believe me. He looks down and says. I know y'all ain't much. I know where I got you. [25:48] That's what he says. When he looks at us. Hey man. Yeah well none of you came out like a shining trophy. You will be a trophy in heaven. In heaven. He'll put you in a trophy rack. [25:58] Walk by. I said. Check out what grace can do. But he got us out of the mud hole. Every one of us. Every one of us. And so when you don't believe. Like y'all to believe. Here's all he wants to hear is. [26:08] Here's what he says. Mark 9 23. Jesus said unto him. If thou canst believe. All things are possible to him that believes. In verse 24. The father of the child said. [26:19] Lord I believe. But help my unbelief. You know what he was really saying don't you? I don't believe very much. I believe a little. But I'd like you to help me with the rest of it. You know what Jesus did don't you? [26:31] That's good enough buddy. That's all I wanted. Just want you to believe me. Say amen. He's a great God. Believe the promises of God. Did you know that God's promises. [26:43] If you don't mix them with faith. They don't work. The promises of God don't work. [26:54] If you don't mix them with faith. That's salvation. That's every other way. In Hebrews 4 2. The Bible says. For unto us was the gospel preached. As well as unto them. But the word preached. Didn't profit them. They didn't get saved. [27:04] And they heard it. Because they didn't mix it with faith. You got to have the word and faith. That's what you got to have. And by the way. If you're going to be a missionary. You're going to take the word of God. You're going to. I'm going to throw in a whole heap of faith. [27:15] On that. And just trust God. Just trust God. I am tempted to tell you stories. [27:28] But I won't. We'll talk someday. But on the day of my darkest problem. I preached. I will win in this. [27:39] I was alone with God upstairs. I wanted to die. I'll never explain to you. You'll never understand. I was at the end of my rope. I was ashamed. I was embarrassed. I was beaten. And I was whipped. [27:50] And I looked to him. And I said. I don't know. I've messed up big time. You don't care about me. Nobody cares about me. Or you'll never let this happen. And I honestly. Would tell you. It was like. He said. [28:01] Yeah. He changed. I'm in love with you. So on that Sunday morning. I walked in the pulpit. And I apologized to the church. For how I could have been a better dad. And a better husband. [28:12] And I could have done better. And I apologized. And I said. And I believed it with all my heart. Man. I danced around that stage. With my little Bible. And a bunch of Mexican. Peruvians. Don't tell them they're called Mexican. [28:23] I danced around there. I'm saying. He can be trusted. And I said. The title of my message today is. I will win in this too. By the way. I won. Big time. Man. I've been blessed. [28:33] It's like. That's like a greatest thing. Whatever happened. Terrible as it was. Terrible as it was. God did something great. Out of my mess. Believe him. Believe him. [28:45] Now I'm going to tell you what I know you're thinking. You say. I'm not doubting God. I'm just doubting me. I ain't doubting God. I'm doubting me. If that ain't. [28:57] The biggest excuse. Some football coach said. An excuse. Is the skin of a reason. Stuff to the lie. The truth of the matter is. If we want to talk about you. On your end of this whole deal. You ain't never been nothing. [29:08] But a failure. And I'm one of them guys. I do everything. By holding my tongue right. You know. If you ever saw me. If I was working. I'd be. None of y'all got that problem. Why are you laughing? [29:20] Some of you do. I was looking. I was looking at one of my grandkids. The other day. And he was. He had his tongue out in bed. He said. What you doing? Working with your tongue? And he jerked his tongue. Back in his mouth. And he said. Oh don't worry. Your granddaddy's bad about that too. [29:31] But that ain't the way I hold my tongue. That ain't the way I hold my tongue. God wants to do a work. Amen. And all he likes to do is take weak. Messed up. [29:43] People. And prove how big he is. You know why he liked. You know why he liked killing Goliath with David. Don't you? He liked killing Goliath with David. Because nobody ever thought it'd happen. [29:54] And when it did happen. Everybody said. Wow. He must be connected to God. Everything we do. That's how it works. Everything we do. So don't doubt him. Believe him. Don't be of a doubtful mind. [30:06] Be of a believing mind. You start. Eric. Your own deputation. You call them preachers. Don't you even. Don't let it cross your mind. They ain't going to give you a meeting. You got a hold of a. Hey. Hey preacher. I've got a hold of you. [30:17] That must mean God wants you to give me a meeting. You better get with the program. Tell him God. Go ahead. When can I have a meeting? You say. I can't be that bold. Yeah you can when you believe me. Go out and talk to some Spanish people. [30:27] Trying to tell them about Jesus. And they don't act interested. You can just look at them and say. Hey. I wouldn't be here if he hadn't sent me. He might as well be doing something with you. I mean. Why else am I here? You down there in Cobb County. It looks like you can't get enough people. [30:38] And you're wondering what things go out. I'll give you a hint. Ain't nothing to do with big old Bo. It's nothing to do with the big old God Bo has. You step out to London. Or wherever it is that God's put you. Whatever it is you're going to do in the future. [30:48] You can trust God. He uses us. You're going to do with big old Bo.
