At the start of Acts chapter 12, the church seems to be in crisis - but the gospel advances and has continued to advance for 2000 years.

Acts switches from Peter to Barnabas and Paul, marking the start of the gospel being taken to "the ends of the earth". The governor Sergius Pollus was amazed by the teaching on the message of Jesus, rather than by miracles. The church was praying, worshipping and fasting, and prepared.
