to the earth and worshiped and said to him, 00:12:59.000 --> 00:13:01.460 What does my Lord say to his servant? 00:13:02.539 --> 00:13:03.240 Verse 15. 00:13:03.919 --> 00:13:06.100 And the commander of the Lord's army said to Joshua, 00:13:06.240 --> 00:13:07.639 Take off your sandals from your feet, 00:13:08.220 --> 00:13:10.199 for the place where you are standing is holy. 00:13:10.879 --> are starting to get a clue 00:13:29.339 --> 00:13:33.819 into the real identity of this commander of the Lord's army. 00:13:34.399 --> 00:13:36.179 He is not some angelic person. 00:13:37.079 --> 00:13:39.559 He is, it would seem, the Lord himself. 00:13:41.039 --> 00:13:43.559 So Joshua falls prostrate in worship. 00:13:44.639 --> 00:13:48.479 And he's worshiping the one true God. 00:13:48.480 --> 00:13:52.379 And we know this also, I'll just mention this really quickly. 00:13:52.480 --> 00:13:54.940 We know this because there's other parts of the Bible 00:13:54.940 --> 00:13:59.139 where an angelic being shows up and people fall down. 00:13:59.639 --> 00:14:01.539 And the angel's like, no, no, no, no. 00:14:01.600 --> 00:14:02.920 We don't worship angels here. 00:14:03.039 --> 00:14:03.440 Stand up. 00:14:03.500 --> 00:14:04.460 I am a servant of the Lord. 00:14:05.180 --> 00:14:06.340 But there's none of that. 00:14:06.659 --> 00:14:08.580 It is the right pause, a step back, 00:15:27.659 --> 00:15:33.059 and consider that Israel is a group of former slaves 00:15:33.059 --> 00:15:38.059 that had experienced decades of nomadic wanderings. 00:15:38.860 --> 00:15:39.059 Okay? 00:15:39.179 --> 00:15:41.299 They get into the promised land, 00:15:41.480 --> 00:15:45.480 not because of some incredible engineering feat, 00:15:45.939 --> 00:15:48.559 but because God does a miracle stopping up the Jordan. 00:15:48.679 --> 00:15:49.360 They go through, 00:15:49.980 --> 00:15:54.500 and now they see a fortified city that is impregnable. 00:15:54.500 -->
