00:03:10.939 You know, Easter is supposed to be one of, really should be one of the great celebrations 00:03:10.939 --> 00:03:21.579 of the year, and it is because we celebrate that day when the first disciples beheld the risen 00:03:21.579 --> 00:03:22.859 Christ. 00:03:26.579 --> 00:03:32.479 And just try to imagine what that experience was like. 00:03:32.479 --> 00:03:41.079 You know, when Peter writes in 1 Peter about this inexpressible joy, he was talking from experience. 00:03:44.399 --> 00:03:48.179 You know, Sunday when we worship at Easter, it's going to be upbeat. 00:03:49.060 --> --> 00:04:54.340 And so, we don't like to talk about pain and suffering, 00:04:54.740 --> 00:04:57.300 but when we think about that Friday, 00:04:58.080 --> 00:05:01.180 there was plenty to go around. 00:05:03.420 --> 00:05:05.379 You know, Good Friday is just hard. 00:05:07.080 --> 00:05:11.240 Because I think down inside, we feel that this, there is something wrong here. 00:05:11.240 --> 00:06:46.439 --> 00:06:47.860 he says, yeah, we're going to go to Jerusalem, 00:06:48.180 --> 00:06:49.240 and I'm going to suffer, 00:06:49.519 --> 00:06:50.779 and they're going to put me to death. 00:06:50.839 --> 00:06:52.759 And he even tells them about the resurrection, 00:06:53.019 --> 00:06:53.740 but that thought, 00:06:54.180 --> 00:06:56.199 that totally escapes them. 00:06:58.339 --> 00:06:59.300 And so, Peter, 00:06:59.480 --> 00:07:01.839 at least exercising a little bit of tact, 00:07:02.040 --> 00:07:03.920 didn't do this in front of the group, 00:07:04.000 --> 00:07:05.659 but took him off to the side. 00:07:07.120 --> 00:07:07.860 And basically saying, 00:07:07.860 --> 00:07:11.420 you got this wrong. 00:07:13.459 --> 00:07:15.060 This is not the script. 00:07:16.439 00:07:57.199 he's determined to go to Jerusalem, 00:07:57.519 --> 00:07:59.559 because that's why he was called. 00:08:00.519 --> 00:08:01.919 That's why he came. 00:08:02.219 --> 00:08:04.959 He did not come just to make life better. 00:08:04.959 --> 00:08:08.079 He did not come just to heal diseases. 00:08:08.439 --> 00:08:09.879 He did not come 00:08:09.879 --> 00:08:14.479 just to teach people 00:08:42.120 And the first is the calling of Jesus 00:08:42.120 --> 00:08:44.379 is all about death. 00:08:45.419 --> 00:08:46.839 It is all about death. 00:08:46.840 --> 00:08:49.740 The year, 00:08:56.120 in so many ways, 00:08:56.580 --> 00:08:58.280 but yet his goal 00:08:58.280 --> 00:08:59.920 was this garden. 00:09:00.620 --> 00:09:02.259 But way back in the beginning, 00:09:02.560 --> 00:09:03.680 there was another garden. 00:09:04.879 --> 00:09:06.300 A garden where things 00:09:06.300 --> 00:09:08.660 should have gone better. 00:09:08.659 --> 00:09:12.179 God created all things, 00:09:12.339 --> 00:09:13.379 declared it to be good, 00:09:13.459 --> 00:09:14.860 and at the heart of that creation 00:09:14.860 --> 00:09:15.740 was man, 00:09:16.839 --> 00:09:18.159 and he put him in a garden. 00:09:20.519 --> 00:09:22.139 And man was made 00:09:22.139 --> 00:09:24.319 to give glory 00:09:24.319 --> 00:09:26.659 to his creator 00:09:26.659 --> 00:09:28.779 through
