With much fanfare, she departed Southampton but would never reach New York City, sinking a few hundred kilometers southeast of Newfoundland after hitting an iceberg. Hundreds of people would die. 00:00:46.000 --> 00:00:59.799 History is littered with examples of catastrophes and failures that have come about because very wise, very learned, very strong people have found their sense of security in the wrong things. 00:00:59.799 --> 00:01:08.759 There's a real temporal danger, danger in this mortal life and trusting in false securities. rhetorical point from the greater to the lesser. 00:03:17.439 --> 00:03:27.740 If the religiously and morally upright Jewish people that God himself singled out, and we'll see, gave the law, gave all is a rhetorical, a few sentences that provide a rhetorical basis from the greater to the lesser, 00:05:04.819 --> 00:05:09.640 we can understand that Paul is not some anti-Jewish Christian crusader. the other nations. 00:09:35.440 --> 00:09:38.519 So the law that was a gift from God, 00:09:38.919 --> 00:09:41.659 that didn't define them, 00:09:41.779 --> 00:09:44.720 but was, again, an expression of God's love towards them, 00:09:45.360 --> 00:09:50.220 and in response they were to love God in return and keep the law, 00:09:50.940 --> 00:09:53.779 the law became the very identity marker for them. 00:09:53.779 --> 00:09:58.100 And they became prideful, 00:09:58.779 --> 00:10:00.480 and they became hypocritical, 00:10:01.199 --> 00:10:06.720 and they claimed to have the very highest level
