The first one is in verse 11. 00:11:19.500 --> 00:11:20.799 It's the trustworthy title. 00:11:21.979 --> 00:11:22.759 Faithful and True. 00:11:24.219 --> 00:11:26.500 The second title is found in verse 12. 00:11:26.639 --> 00:11:28.979 It's the mysterious title. 00:11:28.980 --> 00:11:33.519 A name written that no one knows but himself. 00:11:34.700 --> 00:11:38.220 Verse 13 is the sobering and True. 00:12:25.179 --> 00:12:30.679 And in righteousness, he judges and makes war. 00:12:31.359 --> 00:12:34.379 Well, verse 11 opens with the opening of heaven. 00:12:34.459 --> 00:12:35.059 A revelation. 00:12:35.379 --> 00:12:38.859 And God gives John this vision of the returning Christ. 00:12:39.639 --> 00:12:40.439 And what does he see? 00:12:40.779 --> 00:12:43.299 He sees Jesus Victory, triumph over one's enemies. 00:12:52.639 --> 00:12:55.539 Caesar's would ride into Rome on a white horse, 00:12:55.599 --> 00:12:57.299 or following white horses. 00:12:59.099 --> 00:12:59.659 Victorious. 00:13:00.459 --> 00:13:01.179 Victory won. 00:13:02.519 --> 00:13:04.859 And so John starts this description saying, 00:13:05.099 --> 00:13:05.399 Done! 00:13:05.659 --> 00:13:06.579 Victory won! 00:13:06.579 --> 00:13:06.620 Victory won! 00:13:08.699 --> 00:13:11.419 But John doesn't stay focused on that white horse. 00:13:11.419 --> 00:13:13.819 He actually focuses the rider, 00:13:13.979 --> 00:13:15.860 on the rider of the white horse. 00:13:16.759 --> 00:13:20.339 The one who accomplishes the victory. 00:13:20.979 --> 00:13:23.240 And John calls our attention to that first title, 00:13:23.699 --> 00:13:25.899 Faithful and True. 00:13:26.139 --> 00:13:28.019 But can we just ask a question? 00:13:31.000 --> 00:13:32.399 Of all the titles, 00:13:32.639 --> 00:14:02.500 --> 00:14:05.719 Hey, send out seven letters to seven churches, 00:14:06.139 --> 00:14:09.259 and here is the last letter to the church of Laodicea, 00:14:09.259 --> 00:14:10.679 and this is how it begins. 00:14:11.200 --> 00:14:13.019 And to the angel of the church in Laodicea, 00:14:13.080 --> 00:14:15.019 write the words of the Amen. 00:14:15.879 --> 00:14:18.980 The faithful and true witness. 00:14:20.259 --> 00:14:21.019 It's a clue. 00:14:22.559 --> 00:14:23.720 What do witnesses do? 00:14:24.399 --> 00:14:25.500 They bear testimony. 00:14:26.200 --> 00:14:27.980 They bear 00:15:26.720 --> 00:15:29.720 And what we learn from Matthew 24 and 25 is 00:15:29.720 --> 00:15:33.720 that no one knows the day or the hour of Jesus' return. 00:15:33.840 --> 00:15:34.320 No one
