Anyone here not have a mother? We should talk after, right? 00:01:05.540 --> 00:01:08.040 The reality is, we all have a mother. 00:01:08.040 --> 00:01:18.440 And it's so important for us to recognize and to have this sense of gratitude and thankfulness for our own mothers. 00:01:18.439 --> 00:01:32.039 Today, as we've had the Scripture reading from the Gospel of Mark, and we're going to focus today on the Gospel of Mark, chapter 4, verses 26 through 29, if you'd like to turn there. 00:01:32.040 --> 00:01:38.180 In your ESVPU Bible, that's going to be page 998. It's a short parable. 00:01:38.880 --> 00:01:42.020 And this parable only shows up in the Gospel of Mark. 00:01:42.019 --> 00:01:49.119 It's important for us to not only understand that parables are all scattered throughout the Gospels. 00:01:49.699 --> 00:01:59.359 Sometimes we find parables that they show up in three Gospels, but this particular one shows up only in the Gospel of Mark. 00:02:00.299 --> 00:02:05.239 And I had the reading, starting from verse 21, the lamp under a basket. 00:02:05.239 --> 00:02:12.680 It's kind of interesting when you're reading that, where it says a lamp be put under a basket or under a bed. 00:02:13.579 --> 00:02:23.259 Going on in that verse 22, that nothing is hidden except to be made manifest, nor is anything secret except to come to light. 00:02:25.120 --> 00:02:34.719 We see the lamp under a basket, the parable of the growing seed, and the parable of the mustard seed. 00:02:35.240 --> 00:02:40.300 This helps us with the context in our know, God I don't understand why all of these things are happening. 00:14:31.940 --> 00:14:40.520 And in the book of Habakkuk, that's one of the only times in scripture where God responds by saying, I'm doing something. 00:14:40.519 --> 00:14:41.740 I'm paraphrasing here. 00:14:41.740 --> 00:14:47.240 That if you even knew what I was doing, you would not be able to fully understand it. 00:14:47.279 --> 00:14:50.560 And then he goes on in explaining what he is, what he's doing. 00:14:50.559 --> 00:14:58.279 And the premise of that is to show that God works behind the scenes in our
