nation. 00:05:00.819 --> 00:05:03.680 And the prophet Micah predicted it would happen. 00:05:03.680 --> 00:05:06.139 The word of the Lord came to him. 00:05:06.660 --> 00:05:08.800 In Micah 1 verse 6, he said, 00:05:08.800 --> 00:05:16.079 Therefore, I will make Samaria a heap in the open country, a place for planting vineyards, 00:05:16.139 --> 00:05:21.139 and I will pour down her stones into the valley and uncover her foundation. 00:05:22.639 --> 00:05:26.540 Their turn from God led to their demise. 00:05:27.420 --> 00:05:31.860 Because God does not hide the heartache that comes from --> 00:06:59.680 Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of rivers of oil? 00:07:00.220 --> 00:07:04.819 Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 00:07:05.460 --> 00:07:09.220 He has told you, O man, what is good. 00:07:09.960 --> 00:07:12.019 Key verse in all this book. 00:07:12.019 --> 00:07:17.939 And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice and to love kindness 00:07:17.939 --> 00:07:20.979 and to walk humbly with your God? 00:07:22.240 --> 00:07:30.819 Micah was a country preacher that went to a big city in Jerusalem with a burden and a message. 00:07:31.459 --> 00:07:34.579 He described his situation in Micah chapter 3, verse 8, 00:07:34.579 --> 00:07:41.019 But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might 00:07:41.019 --> 00:07:46.379 to declare to Jacob his transgressions and to Israel his sin. 00:07:47.039 --> 00:07:50.699 Micah was just a common man with a burning message, 00:07:50.699 --> 00:07:55.979 and he knew if his nation didn't change their ways that it would not last. 00:07:56.120 --> 00:07:57.419 And his prophecy came true. 00:07:58.399 --> 00:08:01.519 Within these nations, there were a lot of unfair treatment. 00:08:01.519 --> 00:08:08.139 There were corrupt leaders in business, corrupt leaders in politics, and in every way of life. 00:08:08.240 --> 00:08:13.060 And their fatal sins involved moral corruption, violence, deceitfulness. 00:08:13.939 --> 00:08:18.979 In Micah chapter 3, verse 9 and 10, he reveals the sad lack of loyalty among the leaders. 00:08:19.439 --> 00:08:20.439 When he says this, 00:08:20.439 --> 00:08:25.379 Hear this, you heads of the house of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel, 00:08:25.600 --> 00:08:29.000 who detest justice and make crooked all that is straight, 00:08:29.360 --> 00:08:33.659 who build Zion with blood and Jerusalem with iniquity. 00:08:34.679 --> 00:08:37.919 Micah predicted disaster would come to a nation, 00:08:38.039 --> 00:08:42.059 and such disgrace would come to the whole nation, 00:08:42.659 --> 00:08:46.460 would cause them to blush with embarrassment. 00:08:46.460 --> 00:08:51.860 Proverbs 14, 34, and I always think about this passage on July the 4th and the week of. 00:08:52.900 --> 00:08:54.300 Righteousness exalts a nation, 00:08:55.360 --> 00:09:00.920 but sin is a reproach, also translated a disgrace to any people. 00:09:02.000 --> 00:09:04.060 With the moral corruption, 00:09:05.440 --> 00:09:07.019 the unfair
