WEBVTT

00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:27.600
 In the light of thy love, on every shore,

00:00:27.600 --> 00:00:27.600

00:00:30.000 --> 00:00:37.000
 O Lord Jesus, I find my home.

00:00:37.000 --> 00:00:45.000
 The Lord's guilty sinner, the dead of God,

00:00:46.000 --> 00:00:55.000
 Yet redeem our glory love.

00:00:55.000 --> 00:01:04.000
 Glory love, glory love,

00:01:04.000 --> 00:01:14.000
 The love of my Savior come heaven above.

00:01:14.000 --> 00:01:23.000
 Glory love, glory love,

00:01:23.000 --> 00:01:29.000
 I long to be worthy of

00:01:29.000 --> 00:01:36.000
 My Father's guilty sinner, the dead of God,

00:01:36.000 --> 00:01:40.000
 The love of my Savior come heaven above.

00:01:40.000 --> 00:01:44.000
 The love of my Savior come heaven above.

00:01:44.000 --> 00:01:53.000
 In the light of thy love, on every shore,

00:01:53.000 --> 00:02:01.000
 My Father is found in humility.

00:02:01.000 --> 00:02:08.000
 In sin and in pride and in shame,

00:02:08.000 --> 00:02:20.000
 I see in the light of Calvary love.

00:02:20.000 --> 00:02:27.000
 Calvary love,

00:02:27.000 --> 00:02:29.000
 Calvary love,

00:02:29.000 --> 00:02:31.000
 Calvary love,

00:02:31.000 --> 00:02:33.000
 Calvary love,

00:02:33.000 --> 00:02:35.000
 In the light of thy love, on Calvary,

00:02:35.000 --> 00:02:38.000
 Calvary love, on every shore,

00:02:38.000 --> 00:02:42.000
 In the light of thy love, on Calvary,

00:02:42.000 --> 00:02:44.000
 The holy of all things of earth I see,

00:02:44.000 --> 00:02:46.000
 O Lord, precious Lord, for thy pure and deep,

00:02:46.000 --> 00:02:56.000
 To be told us by Calvary love.

00:02:56.000 --> 00:03:01.000
 Calvary love,

00:03:01.000 --> 00:03:04.000
 Calvary love,

00:03:04.000 --> 00:03:09.000
 Calvary love,

00:03:09.000 --> 00:03:25.000
 Calvary love,

00:03:25.000 --> 00:03:29.000
 Calvary love,

00:03:29.000 --> 00:03:36.000
 My Savior from heaven afar.

00:03:37.000 --> 00:03:47.000
 Calvary love, Calvary love,

00:03:47.000 --> 00:03:59.000
 I long to be worthy of Calvary love.

00:03:59.000 --> 00:04:15.000
 Calvary love, Calvary love,

00:04:15.000 --> 00:04:24.000
 Calvary love.

00:04:24.000 --> 00:04:45.000
 Calvary love, Calvary love, Calvary love.

00:04:45.000 --> 00:04:52.000
 Show me the cross of Calvary.

00:04:52.000 --> 00:04:59.000
 Open my eyes to see.

00:04:59.000 --> 00:05:06.000
 Thy dying form in agony,

00:05:06.000 --> 00:05:14.000
 Lord, make it real to me.

00:05:14.000 --> 00:05:25.000
 Lord, make Calvary real to me.

00:05:25.000 --> 00:05:34.000
 Jesus, dying in agony,

00:05:34.000 --> 00:05:45.000
 Thy great sacrifice let me see.

00:05:45.000 --> 00:05:58.000
 Lord, make Calvary real to me.

00:05:58.000 --> 00:06:05.000
 Show me the cross of Calvary.

00:06:05.000 --> 00:06:13.000
 Open my ears to thy plea.

00:06:13.000 --> 00:06:23.000
 Father, forgive them, can it be?

00:06:23.000 --> 00:06:28.000
 Lord, make it real to me.

00:06:28.000 --> 00:06:43.000
 Lord, make Calvary real to me.

00:06:43.000 --> 00:06:53.000
 Jesus, dying in agony,

00:06:53.000 --> 00:07:04.000
 Thy great sacrifice let me see.

00:07:04.000 --> 00:07:19.000
 Lord, make Calvary real to me.

00:07:19.000 --> 00:07:22.000
 Lord, make it real to me.

00:07:22.000 --> 00:07:26.000
 Lord, make it real to me.

00:07:26.000 --> 00:07:33.000
 Lo, at the cross of Calvary,

00:07:33.000 --> 00:07:40.000
 Bald is my heart as I see.

00:07:40.000 --> 00:07:43.000
 Grace that can save me.

00:07:43.000 --> 00:07:46.000
 Grace that can save eternally.

00:07:46.000 --> 00:07:55.000
 Lord, make it real to me.

00:07:55.000 --> 00:08:05.000
 Lord, make Calvary real to me.

00:08:05.000 --> 00:08:16.000
 Jesus, dying in agony,

00:08:16.000 --> 00:08:26.000
 Thy great sacrifice let me see.

00:08:26.000 --> 00:08:43.000
 Lord, make Calvary real to me.

00:08:56.000 --> 00:09:08.000
 Lord, make Calvary real to me.

00:09:08.000 --> 00:09:11.000
 We come this morning to the last lesson

00:09:11.000 --> 00:09:14.000
 from the 53rd chapter of Isaiah.

00:09:26.000 --> 00:09:47.000
 The prophecy of the 53rd chapter by the Holy Spirit was so different for the Jew to listen to

00:09:47.000 --> 00:09:48.000
 Isaiah.

00:09:48.000 --> 00:09:50.000
 And Isaiah had to say,

00:09:50.000 --> 00:09:58.000
 You're not going to believe this.

00:09:58.000 --> 00:10:06.000
 We very calmly accept the cross of Christ

00:10:06.000 --> 00:10:12.000
 in its reality because we look back.

00:10:12.000 --> 00:10:17.000
 If you had never heard of crucifixion,

00:10:17.000 --> 00:10:21.000
 if in all of your religious teaching you were looking for a Messiah,

00:10:21.000 --> 00:10:26.000
 you certainly wouldn't look one to come to die

00:10:26.000 --> 00:10:31.000
 and to go through what Isaiah prophesied.

00:10:31.000 --> 00:10:33.000
 Who hath believed our report?

00:10:33.000 --> 00:10:38.000
 Nobody is going to.

00:10:38.000 --> 00:10:40.000
 To whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?

00:10:40.000 --> 00:10:46.000
 Is this the kind of salvation that's going to get us out of this mess?

00:10:46.000 --> 00:10:50.000
 Then he describes him.

00:10:50.000 --> 00:10:58.000
 I would remind you he describes him in the insignificance of his coming,

00:10:58.000 --> 00:11:02.000
 in the obscurity of his growth,

00:11:02.000 --> 00:11:08.000
 and in the amazement of his revelation.

00:11:08.000 --> 00:11:11.000
 For when he does come on the scene in about his 30th year,

00:11:11.000 --> 00:11:16.000
 he is not accepted as the arm of the Lord, the deliverer.

00:11:16.000 --> 00:11:19.000
 He is despised.

00:11:19.000 --> 00:11:21.000
 He is rejected.

00:11:21.000 --> 00:11:26.000
 A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.

00:11:29.000 --> 00:11:34.000
 And God deals with him as one who has leprosy.

00:11:34.000 --> 00:11:38.000
 For the sixth Sunday, I repeat my statement.

00:11:38.000 --> 00:11:47.000
 I do not believe that when the Lord Jesus Christ walked this earth as the Son of Man without blemish,

00:11:47.000 --> 00:11:51.000
 having laid aside his deity,

00:11:51.000 --> 00:11:57.000
 that he literally knew when he was going to die.

00:11:57.000 --> 00:12:09.000
 For the prophecy of Isaiah 53 picks up a word which gives us some consideration when it says he was smitten of God.

00:12:09.000 --> 00:12:13.000
 The word smitten is the leprosy word.

00:12:13.000 --> 00:12:19.000
 And it means before that time he never realized when it was going to take place.

00:12:19.000 --> 00:12:22.000
 When the burden of sin was going to be put on his back.

00:12:22.000 --> 00:12:28.000
 When he would be led to the cross which was divinely planned before the ages even began.

00:12:30.000 --> 00:12:34.000
 But I personally believe sometime just before Gethsemane,

00:12:35.000 --> 00:12:40.000
 the Lord Jesus Christ through the word of the Father was told,

00:12:40.000 --> 00:12:43.000
 you are now going to die.

00:12:43.000 --> 00:12:48.000
 Smitten of God.

00:12:48.000 --> 00:12:55.000
 The prophet gives man's explanation for the death of Christ to the Israelites.

00:12:55.000 --> 00:13:02.000
 But he also gives us God's explanation beginning at verse 5 and verse 6.

00:13:02.000 --> 00:13:09.000
 And he gives us Christ's part in verse 7 and in verse 8 and in verse 9.

00:13:09.000 --> 00:13:15.000
 In verse 10, he gives us God's part in the crucifixion.

00:13:15.000 --> 00:13:20.000
 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him.

00:13:20.000 --> 00:13:24.000
 He hath put him to grief when thou shalt make a soul an offering for sin.

00:13:24.000 --> 00:13:26.000
 We covered that last Sunday morning.

00:13:26.000 --> 00:13:32.000
 The body of Christ is important because that is what was crucified.

00:13:32.000 --> 00:13:38.000
 But it is the soul of Christ in the heavenly altar that was slain for the sin offering.

00:13:38.000 --> 00:13:42.000
 Pictured in the Old Testament sacrifices.

00:13:42.000 --> 00:13:45.000
 Let me stop this morning.

00:13:45.000 --> 00:13:50.000
 Christ died for all sin.

00:13:50.000 --> 00:14:00.000
 While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

00:14:00.000 --> 00:14:01.000
 Christ died for us.

00:14:01.000 --> 00:14:03.000
 It doesn't say selective sinners.

00:14:03.000 --> 00:14:05.000
 It doesn't say selective sinners.

00:14:05.000 --> 00:14:11.000
 He became the sin offering typed in the Old Testament sacrifices on the Day of Atonement.

00:14:11.000 --> 00:14:15.000
 He needed no bullock for his own atonement.

00:14:15.000 --> 00:14:20.000
 He was only the goat and the scapegoat of the sin offering that went into the Holy of Holies.

00:14:20.000 --> 00:14:35.000
 But as Christ hung on Calvary and as his soul and his body were dead, the Father in Heaven was crucifying the soul as a lamb or a sang goat for the sin offering of the world.

00:14:35.000 --> 00:14:37.000
 And he treated him that way.

00:14:37.000 --> 00:14:43.000
 Now beginning at verse 10, we come this morning to the last part.

00:14:43.000 --> 00:14:48.000
 The prophet tells us the results of Calvary.

00:14:48.000 --> 00:14:51.000
 The triumph of Calvary.

00:14:51.000 --> 00:14:56.000
 What good was it all?

00:14:56.000 --> 00:14:58.000
 We have covered three phrases.

00:14:58.000 --> 00:15:02.000
 He shall see a seed.

00:15:02.000 --> 00:15:06.000
 Before, the question was, who's going to declare his generation?

00:15:06.000 --> 00:15:09.000
 He died at a magnificent age.

00:15:09.000 --> 00:15:13.000
 What he had done in his career was going to be left undone.

00:15:13.000 --> 00:15:15.000
 He really has no one to leave.

00:15:15.000 --> 00:15:16.000
 He has no family.

00:15:16.000 --> 00:15:17.000
 He has no sons.

00:15:17.000 --> 00:15:18.000
 He has no seed.

00:15:18.000 --> 00:15:20.000
 He was never married.

00:15:22.000 --> 00:15:24.000
 Who's going to declare his generation?

00:15:24.000 --> 00:15:25.000
 No, he said.

00:15:25.000 --> 00:15:34.000
 The result of Calvary is that Christ shall see his seed children born of God.

00:15:34.000 --> 00:15:36.000
 Born by the word of God.

00:15:36.000 --> 00:15:38.000
 He shall prolong his days.

00:15:38.000 --> 00:15:39.000
 Resurrection.

00:15:39.000 --> 00:15:43.000
 The third phrase of verse 10.

00:15:43.000 --> 00:15:45.000
 The pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

00:15:45.000 --> 00:15:48.000
 I'm going to gloss over that this morning because I don't have time.

00:15:48.000 --> 00:15:57.000
 But I would remind you that redemption is at God's pleasure, not man's.

00:15:57.000 --> 00:16:05.000
 You read in Ephesians chapter 1 and chapter 2 and Philippians chapter 2 of the pleasure of God.

00:16:05.000 --> 00:16:08.000
 According to his good pleasure.

00:16:08.000 --> 00:16:12.000
 We don't understand it as man.

00:16:12.000 --> 00:16:18.000
 But God says one of the results of Calvary is that Christ will pick up the work of the pleasure of God.

00:16:18.000 --> 00:16:21.000
 Not just the mind of God, but the heart of God.

00:16:21.000 --> 00:16:24.000
 And the pleasure of God shall prosper.

00:16:24.000 --> 00:16:27.000
 I'm to verse 11 and 12 this morning.

00:16:27.000 --> 00:16:30.000
 Very interesting verses.

00:16:33.000 --> 00:16:38.000
 You realize that the result of Calvary is all seen by Christ.

00:16:38.000 --> 00:16:42.000
 He shall see his seed.

00:16:42.000 --> 00:16:45.000
 He shall prolong his days.

00:16:45.000 --> 00:16:49.000
 He shall prosper in the pleasure of the hand of God.

00:16:49.000 --> 00:16:53.000
 Now notice the fourth phrase of the triumph of Calvary.

00:16:53.000 --> 00:16:57.000
 He shall see the travail of his soul.

00:16:57.000 --> 00:16:59.000
 Isn't that interesting?

00:16:59.000 --> 00:17:02.000
 It's a woman's word, isn't it?

00:17:02.000 --> 00:17:09.000
 The writer of the word of God uses the word travail in regards to childbirth.

00:17:09.000 --> 00:17:14.000
 I think personally it's a little sad that it's translated travail.

00:17:17.000 --> 00:17:21.000
 My personal opinion is it should have been translated toil.

00:17:21.000 --> 00:17:29.000
 The work that he went through on Calvary.

00:17:29.000 --> 00:17:34.000
 The toil he went through on Calvary.

00:17:34.000 --> 00:17:39.000
 The question is for the moment, was it worthwhile?

00:17:39.000 --> 00:17:44.000
 Why does the prophet put this phrase before he puts the other three?

00:17:46.000 --> 00:17:50.000
 Why didn't he say first, the result of all that I've prophesied,

00:17:50.000 --> 00:17:55.000
 this unbelievable report of a crucifixion of a deliverer which you won't like

00:17:55.000 --> 00:17:59.000
 because he doesn't come the way you want him to come?

00:17:59.000 --> 00:18:01.000
 Why didn't he put number one,

00:18:01.000 --> 00:18:06.000
 he shall see the toil, the travail, the work of his soul?

00:18:06.000 --> 00:18:08.000
 Because that would be logical.

00:18:10.000 --> 00:18:14.000
 May I remind you of something that we usually don't consider.

00:18:15.000 --> 00:18:21.000
 We read our Bible as if it's written totally to us and it is, right?

00:18:21.000 --> 00:18:30.000
 But I would remind you class, that the cross of Calvary had to satisfy God.

00:18:38.000 --> 00:18:40.000
 And that's what the prophet is leading up to.

00:18:40.000 --> 00:18:43.000
 You realize that the cross of Christ had to satisfy Christ?

00:18:43.000 --> 00:18:48.000
 He shall see the travail of his soul.

00:18:48.000 --> 00:18:50.000
 He was looking past the cross.

00:18:50.000 --> 00:18:53.000
 Now all of you know Romans 12, 1 and 2, don't you?

00:18:54.000 --> 00:18:57.000
 Seeing we are encompassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses,

00:18:57.000 --> 00:19:01.000
 let us lay aside every weight and sin which does so easily beset us,

00:19:02.000 --> 00:19:05.000
 and let us look unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith,

00:19:05.000 --> 00:19:08.000
 we through for the, what's the next word?

00:19:09.000 --> 00:19:11.000
 The joy that was set before him.

00:19:12.000 --> 00:19:15.000
 That's what Isaiah is writing about.

00:19:18.000 --> 00:19:20.000
 He was looking past the cross.

00:19:20.000 --> 00:19:22.000
 All of a sudden the prophet says,

00:19:22.000 --> 00:19:24.000
 it's going to have a seed, he's going to prolong his days,

00:19:24.000 --> 00:19:27.000
 he shall prosper in the pleasure of the Lord's work.

00:19:28.000 --> 00:19:31.000
 And all of this is based on travail,

00:19:31.000 --> 00:19:34.000
 and somebody has to be satisfied.

00:19:36.000 --> 00:19:38.000
 Look at the phrase.

00:19:39.000 --> 00:19:44.000
 He shall see the travail of his soul and shall be satisfied.

00:19:46.000 --> 00:19:47.000
 Isn't that interesting?

00:19:50.000 --> 00:19:55.000
 Christ's vision of the cross of which he was a part

00:19:56.000 --> 00:19:58.000
 is the subject of contentment.

00:19:58.000 --> 00:20:02.000
 What was he satisfied with?

00:20:05.000 --> 00:20:05.000

00:20:12.000 --> 00:20:13.000
 Is it all worthwhile?

00:20:15.000 --> 00:20:19.000
 Is this unbelievable report really going to be the way it is?

00:20:21.000 --> 00:20:24.000
 Am I the accepted deliverer?

00:20:24.000 --> 00:20:28.000
 Am I going to be satisfied?

00:20:31.000 --> 00:20:33.000
 No man can understand the phrase travail.

00:20:35.000 --> 00:20:37.000
 Only a woman can.

00:20:39.000 --> 00:20:40.000
 Many times ladies say to me,

00:20:41.000 --> 00:20:42.000
 I can't identify with Christ.

00:20:42.000 --> 00:20:43.000
 He's a man.

00:20:43.000 --> 00:20:44.000
 Yeah, you can.

00:20:47.000 --> 00:20:49.000
 As a mother you can identify with him.

00:20:49.000 --> 00:20:56.000
 Every lady looks beyond the birth of a child.

00:20:57.000 --> 00:20:58.000
 To the child.

00:20:59.000 --> 00:21:04.000
 The satisfaction is not in the travail or the toil or the work.

00:21:05.000 --> 00:21:08.000
 The satisfaction is in the result.

00:21:08.000 --> 00:21:13.000
 And after a few years you may not be so satisfied with the result.

00:21:13.000 --> 00:21:14.000
 Christ.

00:21:14.000 --> 00:21:15.000
 Christ.

00:21:24.000 --> 00:21:29.000
 From the moment he was smitten of God with the spiritual leprosy of man called sin.

00:21:31.000 --> 00:21:33.000
 Went to Gethsemane and sweated out.

00:21:33.000 --> 00:21:34.000
 And said,

00:21:34.000 --> 00:21:39.000
 Father if it's possible remove this cup from me.

00:21:40.000 --> 00:21:43.000
 Nevertheless not my will but thine be done.

00:21:44.000 --> 00:21:45.000
 And it wasn't removed.

00:21:46.000 --> 00:21:50.000
 And all of a sudden he had to look beyond the cross.

00:21:50.000 --> 00:21:51.000
 Humanly speaking.

00:21:51.000 --> 00:21:58.000
 To the satisfaction.

00:21:58.000 --> 00:22:02.000
 And the vision of Christ was.

00:22:02.000 --> 00:22:05.000
 He shall be satisfied.

00:22:06.000 --> 00:22:07.000
 Complete triumph.

00:22:08.000 --> 00:22:09.000
 Completeness.

00:22:09.000 --> 00:22:12.000
 No more sacrifices on the altar.

00:22:13.000 --> 00:22:16.000
 No more animals to be brought to the temple.

00:22:16.000 --> 00:22:22.000
 No more fellowship with God based on what man has to do that God has asked him to do.

00:22:23.000 --> 00:22:24.000
 He's content.

00:22:24.000 --> 00:22:29.000
 And the Hebrews writer said when he had once for all offered himself for sin he sat down.

00:22:31.000 --> 00:22:32.000
 Except.

00:22:35.000 --> 00:22:36.000
 Remember.

00:22:37.000 --> 00:22:39.000
 When one of the ladies said to him.

00:22:40.000 --> 00:22:42.000
 And wanted to touch him he said don't touch me.

00:22:42.000 --> 00:22:52.000
 I've not yet ascended to my father to present the accepted living sacrifice.

00:22:53.000 --> 00:22:55.000
 My personal opinion is.

00:22:56.000 --> 00:22:59.000
 That was the illustration of the scapegoat.

00:23:01.000 --> 00:23:06.000
 Because it was the father who slew the soul on the heavenly altar for the sin offering.

00:23:06.000 --> 00:23:12.000
 But then he had to go to the father alive as the scapegoat.

00:23:13.000 --> 00:23:17.000
 So that the father could put his hand on him and send him outside the camp.

00:23:17.000 --> 00:23:21.000
 Bearing the burden of the sin for which the other goat had been sacrificed.

00:23:21.000 --> 00:23:28.000
 So he says to the lady who wants to touch him.

00:23:29.000 --> 00:23:30.000
 Don't touch me yet.

00:23:30.000 --> 00:23:31.000
 I've not ascended to the father.

00:23:33.000 --> 00:23:34.000
 The sacrifice is complete.

00:23:35.000 --> 00:23:37.000
 I have paid the penalty of the sin offering.

00:23:38.000 --> 00:23:42.000
 But I must as a living offering bear the burden of the scapegoat.

00:23:43.000 --> 00:23:46.000
 And the father must accept that.

00:23:46.000 --> 00:23:47.000
 Accepted.

00:23:49.000 --> 00:23:50.000
 Accepted.

00:23:53.000 --> 00:23:54.000
 I would like to think.

00:23:55.000 --> 00:23:58.000
 That in the divine mind there is a little comedy.

00:23:59.000 --> 00:24:07.000
 As the father stands or sits in heaven.

00:24:08.000 --> 00:24:11.000
 And says of the sin offering slaying the soul.

00:24:11.000 --> 00:24:12.000
 It's good.

00:24:12.000 --> 00:24:13.000
 It's good.

00:24:15.000 --> 00:24:15.000

00:24:18.000 --> 00:24:23.000
 So the son as the living scapegoat rings his hand.

00:24:24.000 --> 00:24:28.000
 And with the smile of the divine face says to Satan.

00:24:29.000 --> 00:24:30.000
 You've lost.

00:24:37.000 --> 00:24:38.000
 Right?

00:24:42.000 --> 00:24:43.000
 I'm satisfied.

00:24:43.000 --> 00:24:43.000

00:24:45.000 --> 00:24:48.000
 You tried to kill me when I was born through Herod.

00:24:51.000 --> 00:24:54.000
 You tried to tempt me when I started my ministry.

00:24:56.000 --> 00:25:01.000
 You tried to get the Pharisees to crucify or kill me before the time came.

00:25:03.000 --> 00:25:07.000
 You tried to get my disciples to wander away but they came back.

00:25:07.000 --> 00:25:09.000
 And I'd like to say to you Satan.

00:25:09.000 --> 00:25:10.000
 I'm satisfied.

00:25:10.000 --> 00:25:11.000
 I'm satisfied.

00:25:14.000 --> 00:25:18.000
 And I would remind you this morning.

00:25:19.000 --> 00:25:23.000
 That he was satisfied that salvation was now available.

00:25:23.000 --> 00:25:24.000
 Men can be saved.

00:25:25.000 --> 00:25:27.000
 Simply, huh?

00:25:27.000 --> 00:25:29.000
 Simply, huh?

00:25:29.000 --> 00:25:32.000
 Well, go on with me.

00:25:33.000 --> 00:25:37.000
 Now we come to Isaiah and his theology.

00:25:37.000 --> 00:25:43.000
 For at the beginning I said to you,

00:25:43.000 --> 00:25:47.000
 He made himself through the Father an offering for sin.

00:25:48.000 --> 00:25:55.000
 When the priest on the day of atonement took that goat and slew it and sprinkled the blood before the veil and on the horns of the altar.

00:25:55.000 --> 00:26:01.000
 He then took it on the inside and put it over the mercy seat and sprinkled it there.

00:26:01.000 --> 00:26:06.000
 And he made an atonement for all the children of Israel, not just some.

00:26:06.000 --> 00:26:14.000
 Now, so we come today to a very difficult lesson.

00:26:14.000 --> 00:26:19.000
 Then everybody is saved because God is satisfied, right?

00:26:19.000 --> 00:26:25.000
 Some people would like to have us think that.

00:26:25.000 --> 00:26:36.000
 For there's hardly a person unless he has no association with God or the Bible at all who does not know about Calvary.

00:26:36.000 --> 00:26:43.000
 The world may appear dumb, but when it comes to Easter, they're not.

00:26:43.000 --> 00:26:47.000
 You ask them, what's it about?

00:26:47.000 --> 00:26:48.000
 What's the cross?

00:26:48.000 --> 00:26:50.000
 That's the place where Christ was crucified.

00:26:50.000 --> 00:26:52.000
 You do it like you do with children.

00:26:52.000 --> 00:26:53.000
 Who was Christ?

00:26:53.000 --> 00:26:54.000
 He was the Son of God.

00:26:54.000 --> 00:26:55.000
 He came to earth.

00:26:55.000 --> 00:26:56.000
 Why did he come?

00:26:56.000 --> 00:26:57.000
 He came to die.

00:26:57.000 --> 00:26:58.000
 Why did he die?

00:26:58.000 --> 00:26:59.000
 He died for the sins of men.

00:26:59.000 --> 00:27:00.000
 They all know that.

00:27:04.000 --> 00:27:06.000
 All of man's sin is taken care of.

00:27:06.000 --> 00:27:08.000
 He was wounded for our transgression.

00:27:08.000 --> 00:27:09.000
 He was bruised for our iniquity.

00:27:09.000 --> 00:27:12.000
 The chastisement of his peace was laid upon him.

00:27:12.000 --> 00:27:14.000
 All we like sheep are gone astray.

00:27:14.000 --> 00:27:17.000
 We've turned everyone to his own way.

00:27:17.000 --> 00:27:25.000
 And I would remind you, he says, that it was God who bruised him and made him an offering for sin.

00:27:25.000 --> 00:27:35.000
 The atonement day of the priest on October the 7th was for all the sin of Israel.

00:27:35.000 --> 00:27:38.000
 But you are aware of something.

00:27:38.000 --> 00:27:41.000
 All Israel wasn't saved.

00:27:41.000 --> 00:27:55.000
 Because you are aware that the birth, the meal, the peace, the sin, the trespass offering had to be practiced by the individual Israelite, at least the man for his family.

00:27:55.000 --> 00:28:04.000
 And he had to do that individually to prove that he believed the day of atonement was accomplished for him personally.

00:28:04.000 --> 00:28:08.000
 And there were many Israelites who never darkened the door of the temple.

00:28:08.000 --> 00:28:12.000
 The availability of the day of atonement was there.

00:28:12.000 --> 00:28:15.000
 The priest had made atonement for all their sin.

00:28:15.000 --> 00:28:19.000
 But he never lived what he believed was available for him.

00:28:19.000 --> 00:28:20.000
 He never accepted it.

00:28:20.000 --> 00:28:22.000
 Now you come to that in the verse we're in.

00:28:22.000 --> 00:28:39.000
 When the Lord saw his work hanging on the cross, the sweat, the blood, the crucifixion, the body broken, he saw his soul in offering for sin, he went to the depths of hell for three days.

00:28:39.000 --> 00:28:43.000
 He was satisfied.

00:28:43.000 --> 00:28:50.000
 The plan of the Trinity had been carried out without a hitch.

00:28:50.000 --> 00:28:53.000
 And he could sit down contented.

00:28:53.000 --> 00:28:56.000
 But notice something.

00:28:56.000 --> 00:29:01.000
 By his, what's the next word class?

00:29:01.000 --> 00:29:03.000
 Out loud.

00:29:03.000 --> 00:29:04.000
 Whose knowledge?

00:29:04.000 --> 00:29:12.000
 You can read.

00:29:12.000 --> 00:29:13.000
 You can read.

00:29:13.000 --> 00:29:15.000
 Huh?

00:29:15.000 --> 00:29:18.000
 By whose knowledge class?

00:29:18.000 --> 00:29:21.000
 Not God's.

00:29:21.000 --> 00:29:26.000
 Christ's knowledge.

00:29:26.000 --> 00:29:33.000
 The knowledge of what he had done.

00:29:33.000 --> 00:29:37.000
 The knowledge of what was acceptable.

00:29:37.000 --> 00:29:40.000
 The knowledge which was complete.

00:29:40.000 --> 00:29:47.000
 The knowledge which now made the avenue open for every person to come to the sin offering.

00:29:47.000 --> 00:29:50.000
 If they don't, it's still there.

00:29:55.000 --> 00:29:57.000
 By his knowledge, that's Christ.

00:29:57.000 --> 00:29:59.000
 Having seen the toil he's gone through.

00:29:59.000 --> 00:30:03.000
 And having seen that he himself is satisfied that he's accomplished it.

00:30:03.000 --> 00:30:06.000
 By this knowledge he says something.

00:30:06.000 --> 00:30:09.000
 By his knowledge shall my righteous servant.

00:30:09.000 --> 00:30:10.000
 That's a name for Christ.

00:30:12.000 --> 00:30:15.000
 It's amazing that Isaiah uses the form servant.

00:30:15.000 --> 00:30:16.000
 He uses the word slave.

00:30:16.000 --> 00:30:20.000
 He identifies him as the righteous servant.

00:30:20.000 --> 00:30:23.000
 Because he has been righteous.

00:30:23.000 --> 00:30:25.000
 And he has accepted our sin.

00:30:25.000 --> 00:30:29.000
 He became sin for us who knew no sin that we might be made to righteousness.

00:30:29.000 --> 00:30:35.000
 There is not the brotherhood of man and the fatherhood of God.

00:30:35.000 --> 00:30:39.000
 I would question you this morning class to read the illustration and the prophecy.

00:30:39.000 --> 00:30:40.000
 Look what he says.

00:30:40.000 --> 00:30:42.000
 He shall see the toil of his soul.

00:30:42.000 --> 00:30:43.000
 I like that.

00:30:43.000 --> 00:30:44.000
 I didn't stop.

00:30:44.000 --> 00:30:48.000
 Kindly notice Christ did not see the toil of his body.

00:30:48.000 --> 00:30:57.000
 And shall be satisfied.

00:30:57.000 --> 00:31:03.000
 By his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify all.

00:31:05.000 --> 00:31:06.000
 Right?

00:31:08.000 --> 00:31:10.000
 Is that what your Bible says?

00:31:10.000 --> 00:31:12.000
 What does it say?

00:31:12.000 --> 00:31:14.000
 Why doesn't it say all?

00:31:14.000 --> 00:31:21.000
 Should I tell you why it says?

00:31:21.000 --> 00:31:25.000
 Because not all will be saved.

00:31:25.000 --> 00:31:31.000
 The availability of the sin offering is there.

00:31:31.000 --> 00:31:39.000
 But the justification is for those who accept.

00:31:39.000 --> 00:31:46.000
 Kindly notice salvation is not automatic.

00:31:46.000 --> 00:31:52.000
 Let me boggle your mind because there are some scholars.

00:31:52.000 --> 00:31:56.000
 You that are in the Hebrew class need to be kept on your toes.

00:31:56.000 --> 00:32:00.000
 Maybe.

00:32:00.000 --> 00:32:03.000
 What did I say?

00:32:03.000 --> 00:32:04.000
 Maybe.

00:32:04.000 --> 00:32:06.000
 Don't quote me.

00:32:06.000 --> 00:32:11.000
 Maybe election has to do with justification.

00:32:19.000 --> 00:32:20.000
 Just maybe.

00:32:22.000 --> 00:32:23.000
 Kindly notice.

00:32:23.000 --> 00:32:26.000
 It is the son that does the justifying.

00:32:26.000 --> 00:32:27.000
 Right?

00:32:27.000 --> 00:32:33.000
 By his knowledge my righteous servant shall justify many.

00:32:33.000 --> 00:32:38.000
 Just because Christ died as a sin offering from all does not justify all.

00:32:38.000 --> 00:32:43.000
 You can only be justified by the servant who was the offering for sin.

00:32:43.000 --> 00:32:45.000
 And it has to be on a personal basis.

00:32:45.000 --> 00:32:46.000
 He will obey says.

00:32:46.000 --> 00:32:48.000
 And it is very interesting.

00:32:48.000 --> 00:32:55.000
 For he uses the word justification in the light of the last phrase where he says for he shall bear their iniquities.

00:32:55.000 --> 00:32:57.000
 I am going to be technical for a moment.

00:32:57.000 --> 00:33:00.000
 He only bears the iniquities of those he justifies.

00:33:00.000 --> 00:33:07.000
 He bears the sin of all.

00:33:07.000 --> 00:33:12.000
 Now he has become specific.

00:33:12.000 --> 00:33:17.000
 It may be a very homely point.

00:33:17.000 --> 00:33:20.000
 But I don't believe the Bible is a hot spot.

00:33:20.000 --> 00:33:33.000
 If you are familiar with the offerings I would remind you iniquities were forgiven by a trespass offering.

00:33:33.000 --> 00:33:35.000
 Not a sin offering.

00:33:35.000 --> 00:33:43.000
 And a trespass offering was for specific sin of individuals.

00:33:43.000 --> 00:33:46.000
 In other words it became personal.

00:33:46.000 --> 00:33:51.000
 And so the prophet says to us the triumph of the cross is.

00:33:51.000 --> 00:33:54.000
 That Christ shall have children.

00:33:54.000 --> 00:33:55.000
 He shall have a family.

00:33:55.000 --> 00:33:58.000
 He shall be the head of a family of a spiritual generation.

00:33:58.000 --> 00:34:01.000
 He shall prolong his days.

00:34:01.000 --> 00:34:04.000
 He shall work the pleasure of God to his own prosperity.

00:34:04.000 --> 00:34:10.000
 He shall look at the work of his soul which went through all of this agony as a sin offering.

00:34:10.000 --> 00:34:13.000
 And by his knowledge of what he's done.

00:34:13.000 --> 00:34:18.000
 He shall justify who will come to them personally and specifically.

00:34:18.000 --> 00:34:25.000
 And that's justification.

00:34:25.000 --> 00:34:35.000
 Therefore we are justified by grace through faith.

00:34:35.000 --> 00:34:42.000
 That justification is nothing more class than the ability to stand before God.

00:34:42.000 --> 00:34:47.000
 Let me ask you a question.

00:34:47.000 --> 00:34:54.000
 How can sinful man stand before God?

00:34:54.000 --> 00:34:56.000
 He can't.

00:34:56.000 --> 00:35:03.000
 And the Jews looking for a Messiah, a deliverer to be dropped in their lap.

00:35:03.000 --> 00:35:11.000
 Are being taught by the prophet that this deliverer is going to do something that's unbelievable and almost unacceptable.

00:35:11.000 --> 00:35:16.000
 This is the deliverer.

00:35:16.000 --> 00:35:23.000
 This is how we got the continuous ability to stand before God.

00:35:23.000 --> 00:35:31.000
 Why didn't God just come down in the flesh, absorb all the Israelites of sin, set up his kingdom and say, now we got it made.

00:35:31.000 --> 00:35:44.000
 Why doesn't God in his grace and his love say to total humanity, my son died for you as the sin offering.

00:35:44.000 --> 00:35:48.000
 Therefore everything's absorbed and we set up the kingdom of God and here we are.

00:35:48.000 --> 00:35:51.000
 He didn't do it that way.

00:35:51.000 --> 00:36:04.000
 He says to you, if you want to be justified, the ability to stand before God, it has to come by the servant who died.

00:36:04.000 --> 00:36:07.000
 And all won't come that way.

00:36:07.000 --> 00:36:11.000
 Only many will.

00:36:11.000 --> 00:36:14.000
 And that's where he is.

00:36:14.000 --> 00:36:17.000
 By his knowledge of what he's done.

00:36:17.000 --> 00:36:19.000
 Here sits Christ.

00:36:19.000 --> 00:36:24.000
 And the Father says, it's all finished.

00:36:24.000 --> 00:36:26.000
 He sits down.

00:36:26.000 --> 00:36:28.000
 He's content.

00:36:28.000 --> 00:36:30.000
 Man can now be saved.

00:36:30.000 --> 00:36:32.000
 Satan is defeated.

00:36:32.000 --> 00:36:38.000
 Sin has been covered.

00:36:38.000 --> 00:36:42.000
 God is not willing that any should perish.

00:36:42.000 --> 00:36:46.000
 But that all should come to what?

00:36:46.000 --> 00:36:47.000
 Repentance.

00:36:47.000 --> 00:36:50.000
 The ability to be justified.

00:36:50.000 --> 00:36:53.000
 Let me ask you a question before I proceed.

00:36:53.000 --> 00:37:00.000
 Can you stand before God this morning?

00:37:00.000 --> 00:37:05.000
 If God would drop down in visible form for the moment, what would you do?

00:37:05.000 --> 00:37:09.000
 Crawl under the seat?

00:37:09.000 --> 00:37:10.000
 Yeah, you would.

00:37:10.000 --> 00:37:16.000
 If you didn't have Christ standing between you and him.

00:37:16.000 --> 00:37:21.000
 I'd like to see that happen sometime.

00:37:21.000 --> 00:37:24.000
 Wouldn't you?

00:37:24.000 --> 00:37:38.000
 By his knowledge, my righteous servant shall justify many, for he shall bear their iniquities, those who are.

00:37:38.000 --> 00:37:41.000
 Who are justified.

00:37:41.000 --> 00:37:43.000
 Verse 12.

00:37:43.000 --> 00:37:58.000
 Verse 12 is probably, in prophecy, the greatest controversial fun verse in the Bible.

00:37:58.000 --> 00:38:01.000
 Let me read for you this morning.

00:38:01.000 --> 00:38:06.000
 Therefore, will I divide him a portion with the great?

00:38:06.000 --> 00:38:08.000
 Now, it's a very difficult verse.

00:38:08.000 --> 00:38:13.000
 You are going to say to me, well, pastor, that refers to Christ.

00:38:13.000 --> 00:38:19.000
 Well, in our King James Version, which is an exceptionally good version.

00:38:19.000 --> 00:38:28.000
 If I would read it right, the I would be those who have been justified from their iniquities.

00:38:28.000 --> 00:38:38.000
 Or if that is a parenthetical phrase, then the I is God speaking of Christ.

00:38:38.000 --> 00:38:47.000
 Now, I am sorry to thwart your simple minds in the reading you've done on this verse.

00:38:47.000 --> 00:38:53.000
 But I have a feeling that the prophet is telling us something that is tremendously important.

00:38:53.000 --> 00:38:59.000
 You are aware the phrase possibly could be an illustration.

00:38:59.000 --> 00:39:02.000
 It may not be a direct statement.

00:39:02.000 --> 00:39:06.000
 Or it may not be a prophetic coming historical fact.

00:39:06.000 --> 00:39:08.000
 Let me remind you of something.

00:39:08.000 --> 00:39:12.000
 The phrase is just an expression of full victory.

00:39:12.000 --> 00:39:14.000
 For the conqueror has conquered something.

00:39:17.000 --> 00:39:19.000
 And I would ask you this morning.

00:39:19.000 --> 00:39:22.000
 Who can share the victory of the cross with Christ?

00:39:22.000 --> 00:39:23.000
 Nobody.

00:39:23.000 --> 00:39:30.000
 He is the all-conquering savior.

00:39:30.000 --> 00:39:31.000
 Am I right or wrong?

00:39:33.000 --> 00:39:38.000
 Then he doesn't share it as the illustration goes with the conquering victories.

00:39:39.000 --> 00:39:44.000
 I think personally, I could whet your appetite by showing you something.

00:39:44.000 --> 00:39:45.000
 Let's try it, shall we?

00:39:47.000 --> 00:39:49.000
 Therefore, will I divide him a portion with the great.

00:39:49.000 --> 00:39:51.000
 It probably speaks of Christ.

00:39:51.000 --> 00:39:58.000
 And he is now back to his divine position with the Father and the Holy Spirit.

00:40:02.000 --> 00:40:06.000
 But, he shall divide the spoil.

00:40:06.000 --> 00:40:09.000
 Now, the question is, what is the spoil?

00:40:09.000 --> 00:40:12.000
 Man.

00:40:12.000 --> 00:40:19.000
 Who's he going to get man from?

00:40:19.000 --> 00:40:25.000
 Who does Calvary save you from, class?

00:40:26.000 --> 00:40:27.000
 Satan.

00:40:31.000 --> 00:40:33.000
 And I'm again being imaginative.

00:40:33.000 --> 00:40:39.000
 Here is Christ looking past the cross according to Hebrews 12, 2, for the joy that was set before him.

00:40:39.000 --> 00:40:45.000
 And sees the contentment and the satisfaction and the completeness and the acceptance and the avenue of salvation.

00:40:45.000 --> 00:40:51.000
 But most of all, wringing his hands with his divine smile and saying, Satan, you lost.

00:40:51.000 --> 00:41:01.000
 I'm going to take something away from you.

00:41:01.000 --> 00:41:04.000
 How many of you like to cheat Satan?

00:41:04.000 --> 00:41:06.000
 Huh?

00:41:06.000 --> 00:41:19.000
 God reminds you, every time a sinner by Calvary is justified before God, Satan loses another soul.

00:41:19.000 --> 00:41:20.000
 And here's the conqueror.

00:41:20.000 --> 00:41:22.000
 And here's the conqueror.

00:41:22.000 --> 00:41:26.000
 Who possibly the Father says, now he's back to his greatness.

00:41:26.000 --> 00:41:31.000
 He is the all conquering one.

00:41:31.000 --> 00:41:41.000
 And to Satan, the Savior says, you may be powerful.

00:41:41.000 --> 00:41:44.000
 That's the word.

00:41:44.000 --> 00:41:46.000
 Look at it again.

00:41:46.000 --> 00:41:49.000
 He shall divide the spoil.

00:41:49.000 --> 00:41:52.000
 Let me change a word.

00:41:52.000 --> 00:42:02.000
 From the stop.

00:42:02.000 --> 00:42:07.000
 The olden days and sometimes in some of the country style music today.

00:42:07.000 --> 00:42:20.000
 There is the line which says, the sinner is snatched from the pit of hell.

00:42:20.000 --> 00:42:27.000
 The devil was created for the devil and his angels.

00:42:27.000 --> 00:42:35.000
 And Christ is satisfied that he justifies the many and they are taken away from Satan's power.

00:42:35.000 --> 00:42:37.000
 They were his spoil.

00:42:37.000 --> 00:42:38.000
 They were his fortune.

00:42:38.000 --> 00:42:39.000
 They were his treasures.

00:42:39.000 --> 00:42:46.000
 And now that spoil, treasures is really the word.

00:42:46.000 --> 00:42:51.000
 You have the same type of phrase in the sin of Achan when he took the spoil of the camp.

00:42:51.000 --> 00:42:55.000
 He really took the treasures to the camp.

00:42:55.000 --> 00:42:59.000
 You see friends, when man sinned, Satan got a treasure.

00:42:59.000 --> 00:43:01.000
 He got the creation of God.

00:43:01.000 --> 00:43:10.000
 The greatest treasure God ever had was the creation of man to fellowship with himself and to rule over his creation.

00:43:10.000 --> 00:43:16.000
 And when Adam sinned with Eve, they took away a treasure from God and gave a great treasure to Satan.

00:43:16.000 --> 00:43:19.000
 Somebody's got to get it back.

00:43:19.000 --> 00:43:29.000
 And he hung on Calvary in his soul with an offering for sin in the heavenly altar.

00:43:29.000 --> 00:43:34.000
 He looked beyond that and he said to Satan with a smile, you lost.

00:43:34.000 --> 00:43:41.000
 And he said to the rest, we're going to get some of our treasure back.

00:43:41.000 --> 00:43:46.000
 And once we get them back, you'll never get them again.

00:43:46.000 --> 00:43:54.000
 Because the blood of Christ is not eternal, it's not sufficient.

00:43:54.000 --> 00:43:59.000
 But I'd remind you of something.

00:43:59.000 --> 00:44:09.000
 But the prophet describes Satan as strong.

00:44:09.000 --> 00:44:12.000
 Go on.

00:44:12.000 --> 00:44:17.000
 Now he turns around and uses the same phrase towards himself.

00:44:17.000 --> 00:44:19.000
 How did he get spoiled back?

00:44:19.000 --> 00:44:22.000
 Because he hath poured out.

00:44:22.000 --> 00:44:26.000
 That blood term poured out.

00:44:26.000 --> 00:44:29.000
 And don't miss the little word, he.

00:44:29.000 --> 00:44:33.000
 I lay down my life.

00:44:33.000 --> 00:44:38.000
 No man takes it from me and nobody gives it back to me.

00:44:38.000 --> 00:44:40.000
 I do it myself.

00:44:40.000 --> 00:44:45.000
 Do you realize that Christ wanted to die for you and me?

00:44:49.000 --> 00:44:51.000
 He poured out his soul.

00:44:51.000 --> 00:44:52.000
 He gave himself.

00:44:52.000 --> 00:44:54.000
 The gift he gave was his soul.

00:44:54.000 --> 00:44:59.000
 And the means was that Old Testament pouring out again.

00:44:59.000 --> 00:45:03.000
 Now notice something as we draw to a close.

00:45:03.000 --> 00:45:07.000
 I think our vision of the prophet is very small.

00:45:11.000 --> 00:45:17.000
 I wish I could get you to appreciate the Bible.

00:45:17.000 --> 00:45:24.000
 Kindly notice in verse 2, he started with his insignificance as he came to earth.

00:45:24.000 --> 00:45:34.000
 And as he closes in verse 11 and 12, with the triumph of Calvary, he reverts back to the earth.

00:45:36.000 --> 00:45:38.000
 Past tense.

00:45:38.000 --> 00:45:44.000
 He was numbered with the transgressors.

00:45:44.000 --> 00:45:47.000
 Now I know what all the commentaries say.

00:45:47.000 --> 00:45:54.000
 That says he hung between two thieves, far from it.

00:45:54.000 --> 00:46:01.000
 The first time he was numbered with the transgressors was in the Roman census when he was a baby.

00:46:07.000 --> 00:46:09.000
 Was he really an ordinary man?

00:46:09.000 --> 00:46:15.000
 All the other ones of the census were sinners.

00:46:15.000 --> 00:46:16.000
 He was not.

00:46:19.000 --> 00:46:26.000
 The census by the Romans numbered him with the transgressors.

00:46:28.000 --> 00:46:29.000
 Interesting thought.

00:46:29.000 --> 00:46:30.000
 Remember what?

00:46:30.000 --> 00:46:32.000
 He cast out a demon.

00:46:32.000 --> 00:46:37.000
 The Pharisees said to him, he does it by Beelzebub.

00:46:38.000 --> 00:46:44.000
 In other words, he cast out demons by the king of demons himself, Satan.

00:46:44.000 --> 00:46:46.000
 He was numbered with transgressors.

00:46:48.000 --> 00:46:53.000
 The Pharisees says, he's nothing more than a man that's possessed of a demon.

00:46:53.000 --> 00:46:56.000
 He's numbered with the transgressors.

00:46:56.000 --> 00:47:02.000
 He's going to look like a sinner.

00:47:03.000 --> 00:47:06.000
 He's going to be a baby who's listed in the Roman census.

00:47:07.000 --> 00:47:15.000
 The religious crowd are going to list him in the listing of those who are nothing more than ordinary men possessed of the devil.

00:47:16.000 --> 00:47:21.000
 He was numbered with transgressors in the courts of justice.

00:47:21.000 --> 00:47:27.000
 He was numbered with transgressors because of his treatment he got by the soldiers.

00:47:28.000 --> 00:47:31.000
 I would remind you, he was numbered with transgressors by God himself.

00:47:32.000 --> 00:47:34.000
 That's what verse 10 says.

00:47:35.000 --> 00:47:42.000
 It pleased the Lord to bruise him and use him as a sin offering.

00:47:42.000 --> 00:47:45.000
 Look at the second phrase.

00:47:45.000 --> 00:47:53.000
 Isaiah seems to have prophetically by the Holy Spirit a second thought.

00:47:57.000 --> 00:48:01.000
 And he bare the sin of what?

00:48:02.000 --> 00:48:03.000
 Not all.

00:48:03.000 --> 00:48:10.000
 Is he contradicting himself?

00:48:10.000 --> 00:48:11.000
 No, he's not.

00:48:13.000 --> 00:48:17.000
 He's saying to us again that it is not automatic.

00:48:17.000 --> 00:48:29.000
 It's a lively discussion nowadays between those who say the atonement was not for everybody.

00:48:29.000 --> 00:48:32.000
 The atonement was only for those who will accept Christ.

00:48:34.000 --> 00:48:35.000
 I am not a semanticist.

00:48:35.000 --> 00:48:38.000
 I am not a grammarian.

00:48:38.000 --> 00:48:42.000
 I'm really not much of anything.

00:48:44.000 --> 00:48:52.000
 But my friend, Christ could die a thousand times, but if you don't accept him, it doesn't do you any good.

00:48:52.000 --> 00:49:00.000
 He cannot bear the sin you will not allow him to have.

00:49:01.000 --> 00:49:09.000
 He cannot forgive the sin that you will not allow to be laid on him practically when it's already been laid on him positionally.

00:49:10.000 --> 00:49:12.000
 He was numbered with transgressors.

00:49:12.000 --> 00:49:16.000
 Oh my, the Israelite would say, how can that be the deliverer?

00:49:19.000 --> 00:49:20.000
 He can't.

00:49:22.000 --> 00:49:30.000
 He bare the sin of many and the Israelite picks up his voice and he picks up his ears and he says to himself, you just said he was the offering for all sin.

00:49:31.000 --> 00:49:31.000

00:49:31.000 --> 00:49:33.000
 Just like the day of atonement.

00:49:33.000 --> 00:49:35.000
 Where have you been all year?

00:49:35.000 --> 00:49:41.000
 I thank God that he's patient.

00:49:42.000 --> 00:49:50.000
 I thank God he's long suffering for some of you have sat here for months and years and have never accepted Jesus Christ, the atonement for your sin.

00:49:55.000 --> 00:49:57.000
 God was never that long suffering with a Jew.

00:49:57.000 --> 00:49:58.000
 God was never that long suffering with a Jew.

00:50:00.000 --> 00:50:01.000
 This is the age of grace.

00:50:01.000 --> 00:50:14.000
 He is still willing to bear your specific personal individual sin, which is included in the sin offering on that day of atonement illustration.

00:50:14.000 --> 00:50:22.000
 And then it says, thirdly, he made intercession for the transgressors.

00:50:23.000 --> 00:50:25.000
 Not what your reference Bible says.

00:50:25.000 --> 00:50:33.000
 Not just the thief who said, Father, remember me when you come into your kingdom.

00:50:33.000 --> 00:50:36.000
 My dear friend, that is only scratching the surface.

00:50:38.000 --> 00:50:42.000
 You realize what it says in that little phrase from the cross?

00:50:42.000 --> 00:50:45.000
 Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.

00:50:45.000 --> 00:50:47.000
 Who does that include?

00:50:47.000 --> 00:50:48.000
 All the people.

00:50:50.000 --> 00:50:52.000
 Those who had so-called tried him.

00:50:53.000 --> 00:50:54.000
 The soldiers who were there.

00:50:54.000 --> 00:50:55.000
 Those who reviled.

00:50:55.000 --> 00:50:56.000
 Those who walked away.

00:50:56.000 --> 00:50:57.000
 Those who mocked.

00:50:57.000 --> 00:50:58.000
 Those who jeered.

00:50:58.000 --> 00:51:00.000
 All of them are included.

00:51:00.000 --> 00:51:03.000
 It says he made intercession for the transgressors.

00:51:03.000 --> 00:51:06.000
 What a paradox.

00:51:07.000 --> 00:51:09.000
 He's numbered with the transgressors.

00:51:09.000 --> 00:51:10.000
 Now he prays for them.

00:51:10.000 --> 00:51:11.000
 Isn't that an interesting prayer?

00:51:11.000 --> 00:51:25.000
 And that ministry is now finished.

00:51:26.000 --> 00:51:31.000
 My personal conviction is that Christ never prayed for us.

00:51:31.000 --> 00:51:34.320
 for it said

00:51:34.320 --> 00:51:37.460
 when he had completed

00:51:37.460 --> 00:51:38.599
 was satisfied

00:51:38.599 --> 00:51:40.960
 was content with the offering for sin

00:51:40.960 --> 00:51:43.539
 he sat down at the right hand

00:51:43.539 --> 00:51:44.300
 of the father

00:51:44.300 --> 00:51:47.699
 ever living to make intercession

00:51:47.699 --> 00:51:50.679
 for us

00:51:50.679 --> 00:51:54.239
 that's important

00:51:54.239 --> 00:51:58.900
 a little girl sat in Sunday school

00:51:58.900 --> 00:52:02.880
 and the teacher was trying to teach

00:52:02.880 --> 00:52:04.079
 what intercession meant

00:52:04.079 --> 00:52:08.119
 and he was getting no place

00:52:08.119 --> 00:52:12.139
 finally in desperation

00:52:12.139 --> 00:52:14.059
 he said to this little class

00:52:14.059 --> 00:52:16.880
 what does intercession mean to you

00:52:16.880 --> 00:52:20.820
 and as always if the little girls

00:52:20.820 --> 00:52:22.400
 who are brighter than little boys

00:52:22.400 --> 00:52:23.760
 little boys are stupid

00:52:23.760 --> 00:52:29.860
 and the little girl said

00:52:29.860 --> 00:52:32.540
 teacher

00:52:32.540 --> 00:52:34.200
 intercession

00:52:34.200 --> 00:52:37.740
 is Christ

00:52:37.740 --> 00:52:39.980
 speaking a word to God

00:52:39.980 --> 00:52:42.540
 for us

00:52:42.540 --> 00:52:49.520
 do you believe Calvary

00:52:49.519 --> 00:52:53.579
 do you believe it or not

00:52:53.579 --> 00:52:57.420
 to by faith accept Christ

00:52:57.420 --> 00:52:59.739
 for your iniquity

00:52:59.739 --> 00:53:01.039
 and your sin

00:53:01.039 --> 00:53:03.300
 it's not automatic

00:53:03.300 --> 00:53:05.860
 for you to stand before God

00:53:05.860 --> 00:53:07.780
 you have to be justified

00:53:07.780 --> 00:53:09.619
 by Jesus Christ

00:53:09.619 --> 00:53:12.739
 on the basis of what

00:53:12.739 --> 00:53:13.940
 he did

00:53:13.940 --> 00:53:15.500
 not what we do

00:53:15.500 --> 00:53:16.400
 you

00:53:16.400 --> 00:53:16.539
 you
