in a different way. 00:01:53.959 --> 00:02:02.099 A telescope looks at what is actually big, like a galaxy or a star, something huge. 00:02:03.099 --> 00:02:05.439 But we normally think it's small. 00:07:11.920 Well, if that is you, we will see today, Jesus has come to change that. 00:07:11.920 --> 00:07:21.620 As we look at Mary's reaction to Christmas, to God coming into this world, we see that God has come to undo all of that in our hearts. 00:07:23.020 --> 00:07:27.460 Christmas is about God knowing we don't magnify him in our souls. 00:07:28.660 --> 00:07:30.020 Other things take priority. 00:07:30.340 --> 00:07:31.580 Other things come in view. 00:07:31.579 --> 00:07:42.879 But Jesus has come to change that, to reverse that, to make us see the bigness of God, and to take all --> 00:07:52.219 Well, we need to look at Mary. 00:07:53.319 --> 00:07:59.319 In Mary, we see that God makes himself big by choosing the small. 00:07:59.319 --> 00:08:01.719 And this is the first thing I want us to see today. 00:08:01.860 --> 00:08:04.860 God makes himself big by choosing the small. 00:08:05.959 --> 00:08:07.980 So why is Mary rejoicing like this? 00:08:08.779 --> 00:08:10.759 Why does her soul magnify the Lord? 00:08:10.879 --> 00:08:16.000 Well, she looks down at her womb, which is probably not even a bump yet. 00:08:16.819 --> 00:08:24.680 And she realizes that the Lord 00:13:00.700 --> 00:13:04.379 In fact, that's the opposite point being made here. 00:13:04.379 --> 00:13:10.220 Mary magnifies the Lord in her soul and rejoices because she isn't great. 00:13:11.159 00:13:54.679 God doesn't need the big or the mighty or the powerful or the influential people of this world to bring salvation. 00:13:54.799 --> 00:13:55.639 He doesn't need them. 00:13:57.000 --> down from your throne and put in the dust. 00:18:31.099 --> 00:18:34.319 You aren't so big. 00:18:35.099 --> 00:18:39.339 What the world calls mighty and rich and full, I will show them to be nothing.
