able to save to the uttermost 00:06:59.060 --> 00:07:01.560 those who draw near to God through him, 00:07:01.600 --> 00:07:03.660 because he always lives 00:07:03.660 --> 00:07:06.340 to make need to be covered by Jesus. 00:07:40.639 --> 00:07:42.079 Now, the assumption of this passage 00:07:42.079 --> 00:07:44.319 is that we need to be covered. 00:07:45.239 --> 00:07:48.000 That every one of us is facing great spiritual dangers 00:07:48.000 --> 00:07:51.000 that we cannot defend ourselves against. 00:07:51.899 --> 00:07:54.399 Problems that we cannot fix on our own. 00:07:55.319 --> 00:07:56.079 Verse 25 says, 00:07:56.159 --> 00:07:57.699 Jesus is able to save us. 00:07:57.879 --> 00:07:59.599 And it presents that as good news, 00:07:59.599 --> 00:08:01.120 but that only makes sense 00:08:01.120 --> 00:08:03.079 if there's actually something 00:08:03.079 --> 00:08:05.819 that we need to be saved from. 00:08:06.839 --> 00:08:07.979 You know, if you told me today 00:08:07.979 --> 00:08:10.500 that I need to spend the next month of my life 00:08:10.500 --> 00:08:11.539 in the hospital, 00:08:11.659 --> 00:08:12.759 being treated by doctors, 00:08:12.839 --> 00:08:14.879 my immediate reaction would be annoyance. 00:08:15.679 --> 00:08:17.679 I don't want to spend the next month of my life 00:08:17.679 --> 00:08:18.279 in the hospital. 00:08:18.579 --> 00:08:20.079 I want to be home with my family, 00:08:20.299 --> 00:08:21.259 and here at the church, 00:08:21.319 --> 00:08:22.239 and out in the community, 00:08:22.500 --> 00:08:24.179 and free to do what I want to do.
