00:02:08.599 because the gospel of John here tells us that there is something that Jesus wanted to unwrap. 00:02:08.599 --> 00:02:13.919 There's a gift that Jesus wanted and a gift that he came for, 00:02:14.079 --> 00:02:15.439 and you might ask, what was it? 00:02:16.439 --> 00:02:19.099 It might be more appropriate to ask, who was it? 00:02:19.759 --> 00:02:24.019 Because the gospel of John here in chapter 17 tells us that it was us. 00:02:25.340 --> 00:02:31.120 God's people are the ones that Jesus unwraps as his gift. 00:02:31.120 --> 00:02:33.620 So it's important. 00:02:34.020 --> in chapter 8. 00:03:51.659 --> 00:03:58.219 That it was important to remember that God gave to Jesus a people for himself. 00:03:59.319 --> 00:04:05.060 Ephesians chapter 1, verse 4, tells us that God chose these people before the beginning of the world. 00:04:06.300 --> 00:04:11.060 And so, yes, Christmas means that God gave Jesus to us as our gift. 00:04:11.919 --> 00:04:14.159 It also means that we're Jesus' gift. 00:04:14.939 --> 00:04:19.079 If we belong to him, we're the gift that God the Father gave to him. 00:04:19.079 --> 00:04:21.659 And Jesus came. 00:04:21.819 --> 00:04:22.939 He
