last time we got an instruction from God to go do something that was completely crazy, 00:04:20.000 --> 00:04:24.439 that would put our career in jeopardy, that would make our friendship circles or 00:04:34.659 Yet Noah, without any word at all, we actually don't hear him speak until later here, 00:04:34.660 --> 00:04:36.340 he just does it. 00:04:37.020 --> 00:04:39.120 And Noah obeyed all that says in Revelation, right? 00:05:59.079 --> 00:06:02.479 And so what we see here is the Lord shuts him in and saves Noah. 00:06:02.819 --> 00:06:08.000 And then, but God, chapter eight now, Genesis chapter eight, but God remembered. 00:06:08.000 --> 00:06:14.560 You see, this flood was judgment, but it was also salvation through judgment. 00:06:15.519 --> 00:06:17.339 God creates in Genesis one. feeling? 00:07:26.699 --> 00:07:35.360 First of all, it says it rained for 40 days, but he actually, him and his family ended up staying on the boat for a year. 00:07:36.759 --> 00:07:41.319 Remember, all Noah heard from God was it's going to rain for 40 days. 00:07:42.000 --> 00:07:44.719 God did not say that it was going to be flooding for another 150. 00:07:45.379 --> 00:07:51.219 God did not say that he was then going to have to wait until a year passes before they can get off the boat. 00:07:51.220 --> 00:07:53.720 Can you imagine being Noah and his family? 00:07:54.820 --> 00:07:56.740 going to be healthy. 00:09:00.719 --> 00:09:02.339 I'm going to feel so good about myself. 00:09:02.459 --> 00:09:04.839 And yet salvation rarely actually looks like that. 00:09:05.479 --> 00:09:11.559 Sometimes it looks like being trapped on a dark and dingy boat for a year without truly knowing what is going to happen next. 00:09:11.559 --> 00:09:17.619 What we hear and what we see from this story is that there is a lesson about waiting. 00:09:18.299 --> 00:09:19.259 Chapter 8, verse 1. 00:09:19.319 --> 00:09:22.759 So I'm going to fly through the two chapters, so please do bear 00:12:16.219 There's something about the waiting that is the most precious. 00:12:16.319 --> 00:12:22.639 When you're waiting for that career to change, when you're waiting for that relationship to come, when you're waiting for that family to start, 00:12:23.639 --> 00:12:25.620 what we see here in Scripture is God says, wait. 00:12:26.219 --> 00:12:29.399 There is something precious about the waiting. 00:12:30.979 --> 00:12:34.179 Because when we wait, we humble ourselves and go, it's actually not in our control. 00:12:35.099 --> 00:12:37.159 So often things are not in our control. window of the ark that he had made and sent forth a raven. 00:13:30.059 --> 00:13:32.299 It went to and fro until the waters were dried up from the earth. 00:13:32.559 --> 00:13:36.159 Then he sent forth a dove from him to see if the waters had subsided from the face of the ground. 00:13:36.399 --> 00:13:41.000 But the dove found no place to set her foot and she returned to him to the ark, for the waters were still on the face of the whole earth. 00:13:41.039 --> 00:13:43.439 So he put out his hand and took her and brought her into the ark with him. 00:13:43.679 --> 00:13:45.039 He waited another seven days. 00:13:45.039 --> 00:13:52.159 And again, he sent forth the dove out of the ark and the dove came back to him in the evening and behold, in her mouth was a freshly plucked olive
