same frame in which we're given, 00:06:07.139 --> 00:06:09.339 whether it's Nicodemus or the woman at the well, 00:06:09.699 --> 00:06:13.019 we have clear instance of individuals 00:06:13.019 --> 00:06:15.699 making conscious and deliberate decisions. 00:06:17.139 --> 00:06:19.719 In essence, saying yes or no. 00:06:19.720 --> 00:06:27.520 And here we are at the most public declaration 00:06:27.520 --> 00:06:33.260 that Christ made to point to date of His ministry. 00:06:33.720 --> 00:06:36.280 Remember, He came at the last day of the feast and said, 00:06:36.360 --> 00:06:38.040 hey, listen, in essence, He says, 00:06:38.120 --> 00:06:40.040 believe on Me, you'll have everlasting life, 00:06:40.180 --> 00:06:41.540 and you'll receive the Spirit. 00:06:42.120 --> 00:06:43.600 And in essence, He's saying, listen, 00:06:43.740 --> 00:06:45.780 I am the one that you believe in and trust in 00:06:45.779 --> 00:06:50.399 for salvation and for all the blessings that God has us recognize 00:07:03.119 --> 00:07:08.779 that what Jesus said was handled and responded to 00:07:08.779 --> 00:07:10.759 in different ways. 00:07:11.519 --> 00:07:12.759 Now, why is that? 00:08:40.179 --> 00:08:42.339 who responded by believing. 00:08:43.259 --> 00:08:44.419 When they heard these words, 00:08:44.559 --> 00:08:45.699 some of the people said, 00:08:46.219 --> more signs 00:09:08.439 --> 00:09:09.879 than this man has done? 00:09:11.319 --> 00:09:12.459 There were a lot of people 00:09:12.459 --> 00:09:13.179 that recognized 00:09:13.179 --> 00:09:14.379 that what Jesus was doing 00:09:14.379 --> 00:09:15.959 was undeniably spectacular, 00:09:15.959 --> 00:09:17.559 and there was no way 00:09:17.559 --> 00:09:19.439 to deny the significance 00:09:19.439 --> 00:09:20.819 of the things 00:09:20.819 --> 00:09:21.579 that He was doing 00:09:21.579 --> 00:09:23.059 apart from coming to grips with. 00:09:23.279 --> 00:09:24.419 He was pointing attention 00:09:24.419 --> 00:09:26.179 to His person 00:09:26.179 --> 00:09:27.579 and His ministry 00:09:27.579 --> 00:09:28.979 and putting them on the spot. 00:09:28.980 --> 00:09:32.240 And so we look back here 00:09:32.240 --> 00:09:33.060 in verse 40 00:09:33.060 --> 00:09:34.659 and we see that John 00:09:34.659 --> 00:09:35.500 wants us to see 00:09:35.500 --> 00:09:36.279 the conclusion 00:09:36.279 --> 00:09:38.320 of His public ministry 00:09:38.320 --> 00:09:38.840 and offer, 00:09:39.200 --> 00:09:39.899 and in essence, 00:09:40.259 --> 00:09:41.220 He was putting people 00:09:41.220 --> 00:09:41.860 in that spot 00:09:41.860 --> 00:09:43.460 where they had to decide, 00:09:43.580 --> 00:09:44.200 well, who is He? 00:09:44.920 --> 00:09:46.920 And their confession 00:09:46.920 --> 00:09:47.899 was more 00:09:47.899 --> 00:09:50.779 than just an admission 00:09:50.779 --> 00:09:52.120 that He was a pretty 00:09:52.120 --> 00:09:53.860 spectacular miracle worker.
