Hebrews chapter 7 verse 25 tells us that Christ, listen to this, lives to make intercession for us. 00:05:04.139 --> 00:05:09.620 In other words, we need not worry about the concern that Christ has for us. 00:05:10.519 --> 00:05:15.420 So not only do you have a church family that's praying for you when you go through a valley, 00:05:15.420 --> 00:05:22.340 but you have the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, interceding for you daily. 00:05:23.180 --> 00:05:29.680 Jesus is pleading to God the Father on behalf of the church, on behalf of the world, and on behalf of you 00:05:29.680 --> 00:05:32.439 and the concerns that you have in your life. 00:05:33.680 --> 00:05:42.480 It is the first, this passage is the first scene of intercession that we see in Scripture. 00:05:42.480 --> 00:05:50.259 And it may be one of the best besides John 17 where Christ himself prayed for the church. 00:05:51.220 --> 00:05:56.700 There are areas of Abraham's life and his episodes that he faces that are difficult for us to grasp. 00:05:57.240 --> 00:06:00.319 Hard to understand that scene of the covenant. 00:06:01.360 --> 00:06:06.800 Hard to understand how in the past he's went into a foreign country 00:06:06.800 --> 00:06:13.199 and called his half-sister who's his wife just his sister in order to protect himself. 00:06:13.819 --> 00:06:14.920 He'll do that again. 00:06:15.000 --> 00:06:16.960 And that's hard for us to understand. 00:06:17.280 --> 00:06:20.500 There's some things that is hard for us to grasp. 00:06:21.220 --> 00:06:24.460 But this is not one of them. 00:06:25.300 --> 00:06:38.060 --> 00:06:41.959 God longs to hear the petitions of his people. 00:06:43.039 --> 00:06:47.759 The pleading intercessions of his people not only invites him to show up 00:06:47.759 --> 00:06:49.959 and thank God to show out in our life, 00:06:50.060 --> 00:06:53.439 but it is evidence of our dependence upon him, 00:06:54.000 --> 00:06:57.000 which is a relationship that God strives for us to have. 00:06:57.620 --> 00:06:59.419 But there's another side to this as well. 00:06:59.420 --> 00:07:03.240 God wants us to know what he's up to. 00:07:04.379 --> 00:07:06.759 God wants us to get in on what he's doing. 00:07:07.620 --> 00:07:09.860 He wants us to see how he works. 00:07:10.340 --> 00:07:12.980 And he gets us involved in his work. 00:07:13.480 --> 00:07:16.100 I want you here is a soliloquy of the Lord 00:07:26.500 --> 00:07:28.920 where we get to hear his thoughts. 00:07:29.500 --> 00:07:33.780 It's almost as if God is speaking to the camera of sorts 00:07:33.780 --> 00:08:12.300 and he wants those who serve him faithfully 00:08:12.300 --> 00:08:15.099 and those who are committed to live out their faith 00:08:15.099 --> 00:08:16.159 before their family, 00:08:16.160 --> 00:08:17.800 to know his nature, 00:08:18.439 --> 00:08:19.640 to know his work, 00:08:20.140 --> 00:08:21.160 and to know his will. 00:08:21.939 --> 00:08:23.800 Now, you may be like 00:09:09.940 Jesus said in John 15 verse 15, 00:09:10.300 --> 00:09:12.220 no longer do I call you servants, 00:09:12.340 --> 00:09:14.320 for the servant does not know what his master is doing, 00:09:14.500 --> 00:09:15.759 but I call you friends, 00:09:16.080 --> 00:09:18.060 for all that I've heard from my father 00:09:18.060 --> 00:09:20.420 I have made known to you. 00:09:21.100 -->
