I'm sure most of us, if not all of us, are aware this morning that the Apostle Paul wrote a number of letters when he was in prison in Rome. 00:00:13.580 --> 00:00:16.719 These letters are known as the prison epistles. 00:00:18.320 --> 00:00:26.420 The interesting thing is that the Apostle Paul didn't just see himself in that prison in Rome as a prisoner for the Lord. 00:00:26.420 --> 00:00:31.520 But he saw himself as a prisoner of the Lord. 00:00:32.219 --> 00:00:33.600 And there's a world of a difference. 00:00:34.980 --> 00:00:47.100 And it was because of that relationship with the Lord, his joy, even in prison, even in lockdown, knew no bounds. 00:00:48.920 --> 00:00:55.240 He knew what it was to be sorrowful and yet always rejoicing. 00:00:56.420 --> 00:01:04.420 And joy is the recurring note that struck in this letter that he wrote to the church in Philippi. 00:01:06.079 --> 00:01:10.060 The Apostle Paul, he didn't take anything for granted. 00:01:11.859 --> 00:01:15.439 He didn't take God's people in Philippi for granted. 00:01:15.439 --> 00:01:24.959 He writes to thank them for their partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. 00:01:25.039
