on these two verses. 00:05:25.319 --> 00:05:27.620 The first thing that we need to be sure of is this. 00:05:27.899 --> 00:05:31.979 We need to be sure about our relationship to God's anger. reveals Himself as a God of just anger and steadfast love. 00:06:52.120 --> 00:07:03.879 Now, one of the greatest references that echoes through the pages of the Old Testament about God's anger is found in Exodus 34. 00:07:04.139 --> 00:07:05.379 Now, let me tell you what's going on here. 00:07:05.780 --> 00:07:10.459 God has just delivered His people out of Egypt, brought them to Mount Sinai. 00:07:10.459 --> 00:07:17.060 He brought Moses up onto Mount Sinai and with His very finger wrote the Ten Commandments on two tablets. 00:07:17.479 --> 00:07:18.060 They're talking. 00:07:18.239 --> 00:07:19.419 God makes aware of something. 00:07:19.639 --> 00:07:22.219 There's something off with my people right now. 00:07:22.339 --> 00:07:23.359 Moses, go down there. 00:07:23.779 --> 00:07:25.240 Moses goes down the mountain. 00:07:25.579 --> 00:07:26.399 And what does he see? 00:07:26.740 --> 00:07:30.639 His people, God's people, are worshiping a golden calf. 00:07:30.639 --> 00:07:34.099 Moses throws down the tablets. 00:07:35.139 --> 00:07:37.779 And then God wants to wipe His people out. 00:07:38.060 --> 00:07:38.959 He'll start from scratch. 00:07:39.360 --> third and fourth generation. 00:08:36.199 --> 00:08:41.240 And Moses quickly bowed his head toward the earth and worshiped. 00:08:42.240 --> 00:08:47.480 The God of the Old Testament is a God of just anger. 00:08:47.480 --> 00:08:49.240 He's slow to anger. 00:08:49.240 --> 00:08:49.759 He's slow to anger. 00:08:50.960 --> 00:08:54.220 And full of steadfast love and faithfulness. 00:08:54.300 -->
