--> 00:33:14.900 as he was taking them on into the promised land. 00:33:15.880 --> 00:33:17.319 Joshua was anxious. 00:33:17.480 --> 00:33:19.799 He was fearful what this meant. 00:33:19.940 --> 00:33:20.880 How could he do it? 00:33:21.960 --> 00:33:23.680 Well, God gave him this promise 00:33:23.680 --> 00:33:25.579 and he repeated this promise to him. 00:33:26.279 --> 00:33:29.240 You read writer to the Hebrews is urging the people 00:37:06.640 --> 00:37:09.300 to maintain both their confession, 00:37:10.019 --> 00:37:12.400 their confession that God is their Lord, 00:37:12.519 --> 00:37:15.220 that they have this relationship with them, 00:37:15.219 --> 00:37:17.779 but also that their confidence. 00:37:18.319 --> 00:37:20.099 Confidence is a word that we will see 00:37:20.099 --> 00:37:23.579 come up again and again throughout the book of Hebrews. 00:37:23.719 --> 00:37:25.879 We'll look a little bit about that at the end 00:37:25.879 --> 00:37:29.019 as we think of the response this calls for. 00:37:30.059 --> 00:37:33.500 But it's about having a confidence in God. 00:37:34.279 --> 00:37:36.579 And this confidence, as you see as you read through it, 00:37:37.000 --> --> 00:37:56.639 had better and lasting possessions. 00:37:56.960 --> 00:37:59.519 There was this confidence in God. 00:38:00.019 --> 00:38:02.360 Even though many of their people were in prison, 00:38:02.500 --> 00:38:03.760 probably unjustly, 00:38:04.220 --> 00:38:06.579 their property was being taken from them, 00:38:06.980 --> 00:38:07.860 confiscated, 00:38:07.860 --> 00:38:10.360 but they knew what they had. 00:38:11.200 --> 00:38:14.599 They knew they had a kingdom belonging to God, 00:38:14.680 --> 00:38:16.900 a kingdom that could not be shaken. 00:38:17.019 --> 00:38:20.099 As receiving a kingdom 00:40:03.119 --> 00:40:04.599 that cannot be shaken, 00:40:04.700 --> 00:40:05.619 let us be thankful 00:40:05.619 --> 00:40:08.159 and so worship God acceptably 00:40:08.159 --> 00:41:02.019 --> 00:41:03.199 to have brotherly love, 00:41:03.380 --> 00:41:06.119 to not neglect hospitality to strangers, 00:41:06.920 --> 00:41:08.860 the fact that there is persecution, 00:41:09.579 --> 00:41:10.519 the fact that there is lust 00:41:11.099 --> 00:41:13.500 that can often so much rule our hearts, 00:41:13.500 --> 00:41:15.760 the fact that there is a love of money
