God is infinite. 00:00:26.199 --> 00:00:38.619 On Sunday mornings, we're really doing a series looking at God on God. The Bible that you've got on your laps is a revelation. It reveals to you who God is. 00:00:38.619 --> 00:00:47.920 And as Christians, we want to know who our God is. And in the 17th century, a catechism, the Westminster Shorter Catechism said, what is God? 00:00:48.000 --> 00:00:53.939 God is infinite. He's eternal. He's unchangeable in his being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness and truth. 00:00:54.059 --> 00:00:59.539 And this term, we're taking one of those phrases and looking at what the Bible teaches about God. 00:01:01.200 --> 00:01:05.099 God is infinite. We struggle with language, don't we, on this? 00:01:05.099 --> 00:01:09.259 How am I going to find the words to describe the infinity of God? 00:01:10.379 --> 00:01:15.239 The very nature of infinity is that it's boundless. you are. 00:09:57.419 --> 00:09:59.940 He's saying in those verses, my hand can reach you. 00:10:00.060 --> 00:10:02.480 My hand can pull you down from the place where you are. 00:10:03.480 --> 00:10:07.639 When Paul is preaching in Athens, it's a city lots like London. 00:10:08.120 --> 00:10:10.899 And he says, I see actually that you're really superstitious. 00:10:11.980 --> 00:10:14.539 You've got altars and you've got idols all over the place. 00:10:14.840 --> 00:10:17.360 And he discovers one idol that's to an unknown God. 00:10:18.720 --> 00:10:22.980 The Athenians were making sure that they had every kind of God they could think of. 00:10:23.759 --> 00:10:24.879 And he speaks to them. 00:10:24.980 --> 00:10:28.180 And he says, I see you've got an idol for the unknown God. and given Jesus as head over all things to the church and for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all. 00:11:13.699 --> 00:11:16.500 The fullness of the glory of God who fills all in all. 00:11:16.740 --> 00:11:17.839 The fullness of the glory of God. 00:11:17.840 --> 00:11:23.259 It shines particularly in the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom the fullness of deity infinity to God in terms of his presence, in terms of his power, in terms of his being, in terms of his sight, in terms of his knowledge, in terms of his actions, and through the Lord Jesus.
