where he shouts at God, but he's still at peace with God. 00:07:30.079 --> 00:07:35.279 A faith that begins to question God, but he's still trusting in God. 00:07:36.000 --> 00:07:41.240 A faith that complains to God, but he finds comfort in his God. 00:07:41.240 --> 00:07:49.840 You see, true faith lives with this tension that God is all-powerful and he's all-loving, 00:07:51.040 --> 00:07:55.800 but yet he allows suffering and he permits suffering. 00:07:55.800 --> 00:08:02.199 And we stand in the middle, wrestling with these truths. 00:08:02.520 --> 00:08:08.400 And we stand in the middle, why Job wants to fight with God. 00:14:00.600 --> 00:14:03.700 Because it seems like God does nothing about it. 00:14:04.019 --> 00:14:05.159 Look at verse 17. 00:14:07.059 --> 00:14:11.220 Yet how often is the lamp of the wicked snuffed out? 00:14:12.799 --> 00:14:14.340 The reality is, 00:14:14.480 --> 00:14:17.279 the wicked seem to carry on and do whatever they like 00:14:17.279 --> 00:14:18.799 and nothing ever happens to them. 00:14:19.059 --> 00:14:21.059 And it all seems so unfair. 00:14:22.000 --> 00:14:26.259 And that's why Job wants to pick a fight with God. 00:14:26.600 this leads Job and us to one conclusion. 00:15:03.240 --> 00:15:05.379 His third battle with God. 00:15:06.539 --> 00:15:10.399 That God is just not concerned for his life. 00:15:10.399 --> 00:15:16.480 In his suffering, Job continues his cry to God. 00:15:16.659 --> 00:15:18.899 This meaningless pain that he's living with. 00:15:19.259 --> 00:15:21.039 Watching while the wicked prosper. 00:15:21.759 --> 00:15:24.860 And yet Job in the middle of it all seems to get no answer. 00:15:26.019 --> 00:15:28.259 Look at chapter 23, verse 2. 00:15:28.259 --> 00:15:39.039 Even today my complaint is bitter. 00:15:39.899 --> 00:15:42.860 His hand is heavy in spite of my groaning. 00:15:43.620 --> 00:15:47.960 If only I knew where to find God. 00:15:48.700 --> 00:15:50.799 If only I 00:18:13.980 --> 00:18:14.799 God said. 00:18:15.279 --> 00:18:16.099 Job spoke. 00:18:16.519 --> 00:18:17.359 What was right. 00:18:19.679 --> 00:18:21.019 It's not wrong. 00:18:21.440 --> 00:18:23.000 To fight with God. 00:18:23.000 --> 00:18:27.200 When we suffer. 00:18:28.059 --> 00:18:30.119 This is the kind of battle. 00:18:30.339 --> 00:18:31.859 That we enter into. 00:18:32.819 7 as he looks out on his own experience of suffering and all that goes on in 00:20:16.279 --> 00:20:24.779 the world we read this chapter 12 verse 7 but ask the animals and they will teach you or the birds 00:20:24.779 --> 00:20:29.559 of the air and they will tell you or speak to the earth and it will teach you or let the fish of the 00:20:29.559 --> 00:20:39.059 sea inform you which of all these does not know that the hand of the lord has done this 00:20:39.059 --> 00:20:49.299 verse 13 to god belong wisdom and power counsel and understanding are his 00:20:49.299 --> 00:21:00.639 what he
