00:08:26.399 --> 00:08:29.659 or is born as a female 00:08:29.660 --> 00:08:33.320 and wants to be treated as a male. 00:08:34.360 --> 00:08:38.320 And presently, those who have gender dysphoria 00:08:38.320 --> 00:08:44.300 do not have their preferred gender recognised by the state, 00:08:44.299 --> 00:08:48.439 which means that their official documents 00:08:48.439 --> 00:08:51.000 such as birth certs, passports, 00:08:51.539 --> 00:08:56.039 can't be altered to reflect their preferred gender status. 00:08:56.500 --> 00:08:58.799 But change has been promised. 00:08:59.939 --> 00:09:02.899 When the Gender Recognition Bill comes into law, 00:09:03.279 --> 00:09:06.899 it will allow transgender people who are over 18, 00:09:06.899 --> 00:09:08.939 they're trying to reduce that down to 16 00:09:08.939 --> 00:09:12.039 so that they can have their preferred gender 00:09:12.039 --> 00:09:14.519 legally recognised by the state. 00:09:14.720 --> 00:09:17.500 So, for example,
