00:11:28.580 --> 00:11:30.100 Biblically speaking. 00:11:31.660 --> 00:11:32.860 It's called sin. 00:11:34.120 --> 00:11:35.440 Jeremiah 17. 00:11:35.560 --> 00:11:36.680 Jeremiah says it this way. 00:11:36.920 --> 00:11:39.480 The heart is deceitful above all things 00:11:39.480 --> 00:11:41.200 and desperately sick. 00:11:44.320 --> 00:11:47.759 We have all inherited a spiritual heart disease stopped you from being a worshiper. 00:12:34.860 --> 00:12:36.139 You're still a worshiper. 00:12:36.139 --> 00:12:39.899 What sin does is redirects our hearts 00:12:39.899 --> 00:12:41.860 to worship things that are not God. 00:12:43.860 --> 00:12:46.179 You can see why God would consider 00:12:46.179 --> 00:12:47.399 your heart very important. 00:12:49.139 --> 00:12:50.720 He's interested in your heart. 00:12:50.720 --> 00:12:57.420 Jesus says something later in Matthew. 00:12:58.320 --> 00:12:59.540 It's in Matthew 15. 00:12:59.720 --> 00:13:01.740 He's talking about what defiles a person. 00:13:02.620 --> 00:13:05.500 And Jesus is very clear on saying, 00:13:05.779 --> 00:13:07.700 here's what really makes someone 00:13:07.700 --> 00:13:09.320 defiled in God's eyes. 00:13:11.240 --> 00:13:12.379 He says this, 00:13:13.800 --> 00:13:15.580 but what comes out of the mouth 00:13:15.580 --> 00:13:16.980 proceeds from the heart. 00:13:18.000 --> 00:13:19.540 And this defiles a person. --> 00:14:34.639 a heart that's been set 00:14:34.639 --> 00:14:35.679 on things other than God. 00:14:35.679 --> 00:14:39.379 This cure, of course, 00:14:39.459 --> 00:14:41.279 is Jesus.
