It's the word of the year. The Oxford Dictionary's word of the year. 00:00:47.159 --> 00:00:59.019 Its definition is relating to circumstances or facts which are influential in shaping public opinion that appeal to emotion and personal belief. 00:00:59.020 --> 00:01:09.820 Post-truth, that term has gone up in use by 2,000% in 2016 because of the EU referendum and the presidential election, according to the dictionary. 00:01:10.640 --> 00:01:17.879 And you might think, as we read the Christmas story and as we sang it, that's a great example of post-truth. 00:01:18.740 --> 00:01:20.000 But I would want to argue otherwise. 00:01:20.000 --> 00:01:28.299 And what I want to do in the few brief minutes that I have is to resurrect a great Christian truth. 00:01:29.260 --> 00:01:34.019 I've never spoken on it in want to speak to you about this evening in these few minutes, which I think has a great deal of light to shine on your life and my life tonight, 00:01:58.260 --> 00:02:03.640 is the truth that Jesus much is the need of this great truth that there are loads of Christians that have exaggerated it. 00:02:28.979 --> 00:02:34.340 The result is that people are put off, aren't they, by Christian
