in Galatia stood. 00:00:27.259 --> 00:00:30.140 They were brave in the face of conflict. 00:00:31.240 --> 00:00:34.079 The question for them was now what? 00:00:35.400 --> 00:00:38.859 They didn't 00:07:39.599 Because you remember the teachers from Galatia were saying, 00:07:39.680 --> 00:07:41.699 listen, you've got to go backwards to go forwards. 00:07:42.339 --> 00:07:43.860 You've got to go back to Judaism. 00:07:44.240 --> 00:07:45.659 You've got to go back to the law. 00:07:46.379 --> 00:07:50.839 And Paul says, okay, let's go back and see how they lived out the Christian life. 00:07:50.839 --> 00:07:53.919 Let's go back to Abraham, the father of the faith. 00:07:55.279 --> 00:07:58.819 Because right from the beginning to the end of Abraham's life, 00:07:59.079 --> 00:08:01.979 the big issue is not whether Abraham was a decent bloke, 00:08:02.419 --> 00:08:04.079 but the promise of God. 00:08:05.759 --> 00:08:07.759 It was whether Abraham believed. 00:08:08.939 --> 00:08:09.439 Verse 6. 00:08:10.459 --> 00:08:14.199 Thus, just as Abraham believed God. 00:08:14.199 --> 00:08:17.659 Abraham believed God. 00:08:18.539 --> 00:08:21.579 And it was counted to him as righteousness. 00:08:23.579 --> 00:08:27.420 Notice, it doesn't say there that Abraham believed in God. 00:08:29.539 --> 00:08:31.360 He doesn't believe in God. 00:08:32.600 --> 00:08:34.720 It's
