up there that Chris read in chapter 11 is that we're told that Abraham, his father, Terah, and his family are actually living in Ur. 00:10:35.680 --> 00:10:39.600 They're living far east from where the promised land was. 00:10:40.080 --> 00:10:46.879 Remember last week we talked about the Tower of Babel and that when God came down and he stopped everybody from speaking Texan, which was terrible. 00:10:46.879 --> 00:10:53.240 But after everybody stopped speaking Texan and they couldn't understand the proper language or verbiage, they just scattered. 00:10:53.419 --> 00:11:00.460 And what we see is these people scattered all throughout Mesopotamia and what is Babylon and Iraq and all these places today. 00:11:00.779 --> 00:11:03.519 And you look at the archaeology there and it is amazing. he's facing and trusting God's character and God's word. 00:22:31.160 --> 00:22:34.580 And he's giving up everything that he's clinging to by nature. 00:22:34.579 --> 00:22:42.579 Because society and the culture and the things he was going to give up, his country, which was the land, which was all important to people during that day. 00:22:42.799 --> 00:22:45.599 His relatives, which was gathering around him gets bigger and bigger and bigger because they're falling in love with this God of creation and they decide to go on this spiritual journey with Abram. 00:27:31.359 -->
