00:06:29.800 --> 00:06:34.639 He says that some there in Corinth, your own brothers and sisters in Christ, 00:06:35.340 --> 00:06:39.900 showed up before you and fed themselves at your expense. 00:06:40.699 --> 00:06:45.560 They left fed and happy and left no consideration for others, 00:06:45.639 --> 00:06:48.259 and you showed up and you were hungry. 00:06:48.259 --> 00:06:51.759 So he says in verse 20, look there with me, chapter 11, verse 20. 00:06:53.079 --> 00:06:53.379 He says, 00:06:53.379 --> 00:07:07.579 See, some individuals here in Corinth, 00:07:07.579 --> 00:07:12.000 they were taking this sacred meal of bread and wine, 00:07:12.060 --> 00:07:14.740 and they were treating it as ordinary. 00:07:15.740 --> 00:07:20.000 The issue here in Corinth, what we're studying about this morning, 00:07:20.099 --> 00:07:27.000 the issue was that they have lost sight of the value of this meal. 00:07:27.000 --> 00:07:33.800 And of course, while we may not profane the Lord's table in that exact way, 00:07:33.899 --> 00:07:34.959 at least I hope not, 00:07:35.519 --> 00:07:40.480 I wonder how many of us, without even realizing it, 00:07:40.620 --> 00:07:43.420 treat this and drinking themselves full, 00:09:43.899 --> 00:09:46.419 while others in the body go without. 00:09:46.759 --> 00:09:52.699 They are not protecting and guarding the unity that they've been given in he's linking communion, 00:11:07.460 --> 00:11:11.380 the one bread, with our unity together in Christ. 00:11:12.560 --> 00:11:16.200 When each of us individually comes to this one table, 00:11:16.200 --> 00:11:20.540 and we each individually come and we partake of one bread, 00:11:20.540 --> 00:11:24.840 we are declaring that we have been made one, 00:11:25.000 --> 00:11:28.259 both vertically, nutritional benefits of this meal? 00:18:15.019 --> 00:18:26.240 In other words, does taking communion actually do you any good outside of just getting a good reminder of what Christ has done for you
