--> 00:07:47.560 Jesus teaches us firstly how not to pray. 00:07:48.000 --> 00:07:51.879 The first way not to pray is to pray as a religious act, 00:07:52.000 --> 00:07:54.899 just something we do in order to be seen by others. 00:07:55.279 --> 00:07:56.759 And the second thing is Jesus says, 00:07:56.980 --> 00:07:59.259 don't pray just as a religious ritual. 00:07:59.259 --> 00:08:02.500 In other words, you say many sophisticated in words 00:08:02.500 --> 00:08:04.920 and you think that God will hear you for your many words, 00:08:05.000 --> 00:08:07.399 but actually you're not connecting with Him. 00:08:07.920 --> 00:08:10.000 The true biblical prayer Chris taught us 00:08:10.000 --> 00:08:13.579 is to come to God in relationship as our Father. 00:08:14.180 --> 00:08:18.219 And we come to Him as the sovereign, majestic Lord of all creation. 00:08:18.459 --> 00:08:20.139 Remember, our Father who is in heaven, 00:08:20.579 --> 00:08:22.599 the one who brought all things 00:11:10.720 But let's dive in and take a look at what we can learn about prayer from Ephesians chapter 1. 00:11:10.980 --> 00:11:14.919 So look at how Paul starts off this wonderful prayer. is the first thing we learn about New Testament prayer. 00:11:25.740 --> 00:11:30.759 The New Testament church were persistent in their praying forever. 00:11:30.839 --> 00:11:32.480 They were just that's just a nice introduction. 00:11:39.820 --> 00:11:41.659 That's kind of like the way we say hello. 00:11:42.120 --> 00:11:43.680 You know, Paul just says, I always prayed for you. 00:11:44.019 --> 00:11:45.759 But actually, when we read the New Testament, 00:11:45.960 --> 00:11:49.620 we see that the Apostles are constantly praying for the believers. 00:11:50.159 --> 00:11:52.600 Look at what Paul says in Romans chapter 1. 00:11:52.740 --> 00:11:56.159 He says, without ceasing, I mention you in my prayers always. 00:11:56.700 --> 00:11:57.960 1 Corinthians chapter 1, 00:11:57.960 --> 00:12:01.200 I always give thanks to God my Father for you. 00:12:01.200 --> 00:12:02.680 Colossians chapter 1, 00:12:03.280 --> 00:12:05.400 We have not ceased to pray for you. 00:12:05.840 -->
