00:04:28.300 --> 00:04:31.319 trying to start a church in an occupied land, 00:04:31.639 --> 00:04:34.259 where the kind of dominant idea was, 00:04:34.379 --> 00:04:36.639 that if you're going to bow your knee to anybody, 00:04:37.019 --> 00:04:42.639 you will bow your knee to the emperor of the Roman Empire. 00:04:42.639 --> 00:04:47.219 Paul shows up there in AD 49, 00:04:47.759 --> 00:04:49.680 and preaches the gospel to them. 00:04:50.060 --> 00:04:53.319 And you can read about that in Acts chapter 16, 00:04:54.479 --> 00:04:57.939 where we have a narrative account of what went on
