There are people seeking his destruction. 00:00:50.099 --> 00:00:58.539 They're attacking him in every way. It seems they desire to harm him physically, but also they're slandering him with false witness. 00:00:58.560 --> 00:01:07.879 It says in verse 12 that they are breathing out violence against them. 00:01:08.500 --> 00:01:11.820 And so, he is in a difficult place. 00:01:12.680 --> 00:01:18.920 And even more than those external things, he's also afraid of being abandoned in verses 9 and 10. 00:04:57.800 And to persist towards victory. 00:04:57.800 --> 00:05:08.600 When we turn to our psalm this morning, however, one of the things we see very clearly is that David has a different plan. center of the psalm. 00:09:09.360 --> 00:09:12.820 Because David is surrounded by enemies. 00:09:13.000 --> 00:09:14.000 He's in a fearful time. 00:09:14.080 --> 00:09:15.980 He's crying out for God's jealousy and envy. 00:09:43.000 --> 00:09:45.879 And when you look through the stories at the end of 1 Samuel. 00:09:46.039 --> 00:09:51.820 David is constantly running and hiding and trusting in the Lord. 00:09:53.240 --> 00:09:55.879 But he's facing an incredibly difficult time. 00:09:55.960 --> 00:09:59.159 Or it might have been that this psalm was written later in his life. 00:09:59.399 -->
