00:07:39.539 --> 00:07:47.099 And before we kind of get wrapped up and we start just thinking about the story and kind of some of the details and kind of the crazy things we see. 00:07:47.099 --> 00:07:49.159 Luke wants to make something very clear. 00:07:49.479 --> 00:07:51.919 That the purpose of Satan is always to destroy. 00:07:52.599 --> 00:07:55.819 And the purpose of the Savior is to always deliver. 00:07:55.819 --> 00:07:58.819 That's really what this text is about. 00:07:59.540 --> 00:08:06.139 And if we're going to understand the victory that Jesus gives, we have to first see the devastation that the enemy brings. 00:08:07.019 --> 00:08:11.459 And I believe that's why this is recorded here in the Gospels and recorded in Mark's Gospel as well. 00:08:12.920 --> 00:08:18.379 See, before you can really appreciate a cure, you have to realize how deadly the disease is. 00:08:18.379 --> 00:08:21.939 If you're not sick, hey, it's no big deal. 00:08:22.719 --> 00:08:27.980 But if you get a really bad diagnosis from the doctor, then you're going to realize how important that cure is. 00:08:28.819 --> 00:08:32.799 And that's kind of the picture that's being painted here in in the boat, and they ran into a massive storm. 00:09:13.299 --> 00:09:21.899 Not the kind of R&R that they were looking for and that they were afraid for their lives, and in fact they even questioned
