the Lord Jesus. 00:01:32.560 --> 00:01:40.820 And again, when you think of the last day, it's one of the things that we will find very hard to understand about glory is that there won't be last days. 00:02:39.439 --> 00:02:43.879 Because in this Feast of Booths or Tabernacles, what they did was, 00:02:44.400 --> 00:02:47.199 there was a great, they would be congregating in Jerusalem. 00:02:47.420 --> 00:02:50.159 There would be a lot of strangers, a lot of visitors, a lot of pilgrims. 00:02:51.000 --> 00:02:56.400 And they would build little leafy shelters or little leafy booths. 00:02:56.400 --> 00:03:03.620 And they would have them on the streets, in the marketplace, on the flat roof, tops of houses, all over. 00:03:04.000 --> 00:03:09.259 And it was a time for reminding them of their journey through the wilderness 00:03:09.259 --> 00:03:11.980 and of God helping them and taking them through. 00:03:13.240 --> 00:03:17.879 And so it was also a time where they were thanking God for 00:03:37.259 of the saints in glory with palm branches in their hands. 00:03:38.020 --> 00:03:41.479 And it might even be a little glimpse, a little reminder 00:03:41.479 --> 00:03:47.639 of the very time of celebrating all that God has done, 00:03:47.780 --> 00:03:52.060 of all the toil, of all the labor, of all these things now in the past. 00:03:52.060 --> 00:04:00.140 But anyway, the Lord of the harvest will gather every single individual 00:04:00.140 --> 00:04:03.819 that has trusted in him from the four corners of this earth. 00:04:04.159 --> 00:04:05.159 Not one will be missing. 00:04:06.039 --> 00:04:09.000 They will all be gathered in from north, south, east, and west 00:04:09.000 --> 00:04:11.280 into the eternal joy of the Lord. 00:04:12.080 --> 00:04:14.300 So we find Jesus who's come to the feast. 00:04:14.300 --> 00:04:18.000 And here he is in the temple on the very last day. 00:04:18.000 --> 00:04:22.020 And he cries out in order for everybody to hear. 00:04:22.660 --> 00:04:26.400 But this moment is actually quite an extraordinary moment 00:04:26.400 --> 00:04:29.020 because it is a moment of fulfillment of prophecy. 00:04:29.879 --> 00:04:33.819 Because if we had gone back to the prophecy of Haggai, 00:04:34.300 --> 00:04:37.860 we find that the Lord came to the prophet Haggai. 00:04:37.860 --> 00:04:43.600 And the issue that the Lord was bringing before the people at that time 00:04:43.600 --> 00:04:46.580 was what they weren't doing. 00:04:47.620 --> 00:04:52.920 Because Haggai is prophesying to the exiles 00:04:52.920 --> 00:04:55.680 that have returned from Babylon, from the captivity. 00:04:57.220 --> 00:04:59.680 And when they were released from Babylon, 00:05:00.480 --> 00:05:03.540 of course many of them were new, they were born in captivity, 00:05:03.540 --> 00:05:08.200 but there were some who had, it was a 70-year period, the exile. 00:05:08.720 --> 00:05:12.819 There were some of them who had been taken when they were young into exile 00:05:12.819 --> 00:05:14.700 and now they were back again. 00:05:15.780 --> 00:05:19.660 And initially there was incredible excitement 00:05:19.660 --> 00:05:22.560 and thrill to be back in their own land. 00:05:23.080 --> 00:05:25.640 And they began to build, rebuild the temple 00:05:25.640 --> 00:05:27.560 and rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. 00:05:28.740 --> 00:05:31.680 But they had begun to slacken off. 00:05:31.680 --> 00:05:35.560 They began to become more concerned about their own projects, 00:05:35.699 --> 00:05:36.540 their own buildings. 00:05:38.079 --> 00:05:41.860 And so Haggai was sent to sort of stir them up again 00:05:41.860 --> 00:05:45.740 to get going with the rebuilding of the temple. 00:05:47.100 --> 00:05:49.620 And the problem with some of the older people was this, 00:05:49.699 --> 00:05:53.800 that they could remember the old temple, 00:05:54.280 --> 00:05:57.180 which was the most magnificent structure. 00:05:57.860 --> 00:06:01.019 It was absolutely amazing building. 00:06:01.019 --> 00:06:04.699 And of course it had been destroyed, completely flattened. 00:06:05.799 --> 00:06:09.019 And as they were looking at this new temple being built, 00:06:10.759 --> 00:06:12.779 they were saying to themselves, 00:06:12.979 --> 00:06:14.399 oh, this is nothing. 00:06:14.560 --> 00:06:17.359 The glory of this is absolutely nothing compared 00:06:17.359 --> 00:06:21.079 to the glory of the former temple. 00:06:22.039 --> 00:06:24.560 And so they were very downhearted about it all. 00:06:24.939 --> 00:06:27.120 But Haggai comes with a message to them. 00:06:27.120 --> 00:06:29.360 And this is what he says. 00:06:30.800 --> 00:06:32.420 God is saying this, 00:06:33.500 --> 00:06:36.420 the latter glory of this temple 00:06:36.420 --> 00:06:38.840 shall be greater than the former, 00:06:39.240 --> 00:06:40.819 says the Lord of hosts. 00:06:41.560 --> 00:06:45.000 And in this place I will give peace. 00:06:46.139 --> 00:06:49.199 Now, what's remarkable about this prophecy is 00:06:49.199 --> 00:06:51.479 that it tells us in the book of Haggai 00:06:51.479 --> 00:06:57.000 that the very date that the Lord spoke to Haggai 00:06:57.000 --> 00:06:59.099 to go and to stand at the temple 00:06:59.099 --> 00:07:00.519 and to address the people 00:07:00.519 --> 00:07:06.120 was on the 21st day of the seventh month. 00:07:07.879 --> 00:07:10.879 Roll forward 500 plus years, 00:07:10.879 --> 00:07:13.300 and here is Jesus 00:07:13.300 --> 00:07:15.680 who is the Prince of Peace, 00:07:16.680 --> 00:07:18.339 who is the God-Man 00:07:18.339 --> 00:07:20.879 who has come to bring peace on earth. 00:07:21.779 --> 00:07:22.659 Here he is 00:07:22.659 --> 00:07:25.259 on that very same day 00:07:25.259 --> 00:07:27.439 all these centuries later. 00:07:29.500 --> 00:07:32.319 And he is fulfilling that prophecy 00:07:32.319 --> 00:07:33.519 because the Lord says, 00:07:34.060 --> 00:07:36.360 in this place I will give peace. 00:07:36.360 --> 00:07:39.100 And here stands Jesus 00:07:39.100 --> 00:07:41.439 500 plus years later 00:07:41.439 --> 00:07:42.740 to the very day. 00:07:43.900 --> 00:07:44.720 And he is, 00:07:44.900 --> 00:07:47.020 he is the man of peace. 00:07:47.500 --> 00:07:49.220 He is the Prince of Peace. 00:07:49.400 --> 00:07:52.379 It's a pinpoint prophetic accuracy. 00:07:54.360 --> 00:07:56.680 And so we find that Jesus 00:07:56.680 --> 00:07:58.740 on this last day, 00:07:58.780 --> 00:07:59.680 and this was a great day, 00:07:59.780 --> 00:08:00.840 this was the final day, 00:08:01.319 --> 00:08:02.680 and at this particular time 00:08:02.680 --> 00:08:04.379 there would be the pouring of the water 00:08:04.379 --> 00:08:06.199 from the pools of Siloam. 00:08:06.300 --> 00:08:07.719 It was a hive of activity. 00:08:07.920 --> 00:08:08.879 It was really busy. 00:08:10.219 --> 00:08:10.759 And Jesus, 00:08:10.939 --> 00:08:12.339 as often Jesus did, 00:08:12.560 --> 00:08:14.779 used and illustrated 00:08:14.779 --> 00:08:16.899 from what was taking place around him. 00:08:17.519 --> 00:08:18.560 And there's the water
