00:00:31.579 sent a tsunami hurtling to the coast of Thailand, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, and it killed 00:00:31.579 --> 00:00:33.179 hundreds of thousands of people. 00:00:34.700 --> 00:00:37.780 And I came across a story about the tsunami recently. 00:00:37.980 --> 00:00:40.740 I stumbled across it even before I was thinking about Noah and the Flood. 00:00:41.520 --> 00:00:43.420 I came across the story of Tilly Smith. 00:00:43.580 --> 00:00:44.580 Have you heard of Tilly Smith? 00:00:45.620 --> 00:00:51.520 Tilly Smith, a 10-year-old British girl, was on holiday with her family in Thailand. 00:00:52.440 --> 00:00:55.120 And on that Boxing Day, she was on the beach. 00:00:55.840 --> 00:00:58.719 And she started to notice something strange. 00:00:58.719 --> 00:01:02.699 The water was bubbling on the beach. 00:01:03.000 --> 00:01:05.939 And the tide was retreating away. 00:01:07.180 --> 00:01:12.379 And she, in that moment, she remembered a geography lesson from a few weeks earlier. 00:01:12.379 --> 00:01:16.739 And she remembered, that's the sign a tsunami's coming. 00:01:16.739 --> 00:01:22.799 And so she ran and she warned her family, who then told the hotel. listen in geography. 00:01:42.379 --> 00:01:52.039 But I want us to see, the story of Tilly Smith and the story of Noah are very similar at heart. 00:01:52.899 --> 00:01:59.099 And not simply because they involve water and a flood, but because the heart of both these stories 00:01:59.099 --> 00:02:01.859 is that they both involve a warning. 00:02:03.399 --> 00:02:11.500 What is key to the story of Tilly Smith is that she gave a warning and people listened and lives were saved. 00:02:12.379 --> 00:02:14.780 And that is key to the story of Noah. 00:02:15.280 --> 00:02:19.900 God gave a warning, going in two by two. 00:02:27.740 --> 00:02:29.460 Lots of things we might be familiar with. 00:02:29.859 --> 00:02:37.340 But what I want us to take away from this is, I want us to be like we're on the beach next to Tilly Smith. 00:02:37.599 --> 00:02:39.819 And I want us to hear the warning. 00:02:39.819 --> 00:02:43.959 We need to hear God's warning in this passage. 00:02:44.079 --> three sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth. 00:03:29.000 --> 00:03:32.380 There's Noah, a son who we know is going to bring rest. 00:03:32.760 --> 00:03:33.920 And he's a righteous man. 00:03:33.960 --> 00:03:34.900 He walks with God. 00:03:35.540 --> 00:03:36.660 And he has sons. 00:03:36.840 --> 00:03:39.240 This is promising for the promise. 00:03:40.280 --> 00:03:41.300 We have sons. 00:03:41.439
