Moses is giving us 00:07:56.959 --> 00:07:59.539 is not science but theology. 00:08:00.579 --> 00:08:03.379 What Moses is giving us is not deductive reasoning. 00:08:03.379 --> 00:08:05.119 He's giving us divine revelation. 00:08:05.120 --> 00:08:08.899 And what Moses tells us is that 00:08:08.899 --> 00:08:11.300 the central subject of all reality 00:08:11.300 --> 00:08:12.939 in the first line of the Bible 00:08:12.939 --> 00:08:14.199 is God himself. 00:08:15.420 --> 00:08:17.180 Forty-six times God is mentioned 00:08:17.180 --> 00:08:18.360 in these first two chapters. 00:08:20.379 --> 00:08:22.740 God created, it says in verse one. 00:08:22.840 --> 00:08:25.240 God's spirit is moving, it says in verse two. 00:08:25.360 --> 00:08:26.699 God said in verse three. 00:08:26.800 --> 00:11:04.199 --> 00:11:05.360 Eden means delight. 00:11:06.379 --> 00:11:08.360 And he put us in that place 00:11:08.360 --> 00:11:09.980 to make that our home 00:11:09.980 --> 00:11:13.500 and to of Gilgamesh, 00:11:29.420 --> 00:11:30.420 the Enuma Elish, 00:11:31.480 --> 00:11:33.540 you'll find these gods in these stories 00:11:33.540 --> 00:11:35.420 that are actually quite needy. 00:11:36.620 --> 00:11:37.660 They're fickle. 00:11:38.760 --> 00:11:42.060 They are deeply conflicted and violent 00:11:42.060 --> 00:11:43.360 and at war with one another. 00:11:44.320 --> goodness 00:12:16.539 --> 00:12:18.139 or of pleasure 00:12:18.139 --> 00:12:19.759 or of rest 00:12:19.759 --> 00:12:21.559 or of feeling at home, 00:12:22.039 --> 00:12:25.019 it all comes from the
