--> 00:04:13.939 Now those who say such things make it clear 00:04:13.939 --> 00:04:15.319 that they are seeking a homeland. 00:04:15.920 --> 00:04:18.939 If they had been remembering the land they came from, 00:04:19.000 --> 00:04:21.220 they would have had opportunity to return. 00:04:21.220 --> 00:04:23.000 I'm from Seneca, South Carolina, 00:04:23.340 --> 00:04:25.240 and a lot of us want to go back to our home 00:04:25.240 --> 00:04:26.360 where we grew up, right? 00:04:26.700 --> 00:04:28.600 But that's not the case with Abraham. 00:04:28.960 --> 00:04:30.440 He's not thinking about the fact 00:04:30.440 --> 00:04:32.200 that he wants to go back to Ur of the Chaldees. 00:04:32.420 --> 00:04:33.940 He's looking for something better. 00:04:34.620 --> 00:04:37.140 But they now aspire to 00:06:33.079 but the first thing I want to tell you about this place, 00:06:33.079 --> 00:06:35.139 it's a place of absolute, 00:06:36.379 --> 00:06:39.399 undescribable, unparalleled beauty. 00:06:40.439 --> 00:06:42.500 A lot of you in this room travel a lot of places. 00:06:42.659 --> 00:06:44.439 I've had the privilege of going a few places. 00:06:44.800 --> 00:06:46.699 I'm not a big world traveler or anything, 00:06:46.839 --> 00:06:48.740 but I've been a few places in the world, 00:06:48.860 --> 00:06:49.399 and I want to tell you, 00:06:49.719 --> 00:06:52.579 this is a gorgeous planet that we live on, right? 00:06:53.219 --> 00:06:54.579 But this place, 00:06:55.219 --> 00:06:58.019 boy, it is of unparalleled beauty. 00:06:58.019 --> 00:07:02.359 I want you to look 00:07:56.779 --> 00:07:58.979 the old Jerusalem was a war-torn city. 00:07:59.819 --> 00:08:03.359 The Babylonians had ransacked that in 586 B.C. 00:08:04.059 --> 00:08:04.379 I mean, 00:08:04.439 --> 00:08:05.699 they destroyed the temple, 00:08:05.819 --> 00:08:07.119 they tore down the walls. 00:08:07.699 --> 00:08:09.919 When they marched out of town with those exiles, 00:08:10.159 --> 00:08:12.239 it was in smoldering ruins, 00:08:13.299 --> 00:08:13.639 right? 00:08:13.639 --> 00:08:15.300 They built it back. 00:08:15.719 --> 00:08:18.319 They rebuilt Solomon's temple back, 00:08:19.079 --> 00:08:23.300 but never to the level of spectacular glory it once knew. 00:08:24.099 --> 00:08:27.680 The Romans later would do war in the city of Jerusalem. 00:08:28.019 -->
