have many people that they hire to make the sales. 00:13:26.940 --> 00:13:30.120 Our CEO at my company doesn't sell a thing. 00:13:30.720 --> 00:13:32.759 He tells us that we better work a little this case, there's no chance that he's meeting every single individual that comes to Egypt to buy grain. 00:13:51.500 --> 00:13:57.899 But by the providence of God, he happens to be at the very place great that he can touch each of us in different ways at the same exact moment. 00:22:30.859 --> 00:22:37.959 And we see that there's multiple things happening in this text through the providential 00:22:58.419 --> 00:22:59.419 Pharaoh's got this dream. 00:22:59.420 --> 00:23:00.720 He can't understand what it means. 00:23:00.800 --> 00:23:02.140 Nobody in the whole land can understand. 00:23:02.279 --> 00:23:06.600 He hears about this guy in prison that's somehow able to interpret dreams. 00:23:06.700 --> 00:23:08.800 He calls him and sits him in front and says, hey man, I got a dream. 00:23:08.860 --> 00:23:09.400 Can you tell me what it means? 00:23:09.440 --> 00:23:10.380 Yep, sure can. 00:23:10.720 --> 00:23:12.140 It's not me, but God can. 00:23:13.420 --> 00:23:15.060 And what does he say? 00:23:15.140 --> 00:23:18.580 What does Joseph say to Pharaoh about this dream? 00:23:18.660 --> 00:23:24.259 Let me just remind us by looking at a couple of verses back in the previous chapter, 41. 00:23:24.700 --> 00:23:28.779 Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, the dreams of Pharaoh are one. 00:23:28.779 --> 00:23:29.680 He had two dreams. 00:23:30.319 --> 00:23:30.980 They're one. 00:23:31.920 --> 00:23:35.399 God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 00:23:35.879 --> 00:23:36.399 You hear that? 00:23:36.799 --> 00:23:37.599 Who's in control? 00:23:39.039 --> 00:23:43.480 God has revealed to Pharaoh what God is about to do. 00:23:43.759 --> 00:23:44.960 And what is God about to do? 00:23:45.000 --> 00:23:45.940 He's about to send a famine. 00:23:46.019 --> 00:23:46.579 How do we know? 00:23:46.639 --> 00:23:49.059 Well, let's look a little further down here in verse 28. 00:23:49.059 --> 00:23:51.339 It is as I told Pharaoh. 00:23:51.539 --> 00:23:55.200 God has shown to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 00:23:55.679 --> 00:24:01.139 There will come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt. 00:24:01.279 --> 00:24:04.879 But after them, there will arise seven years of famine. 00:24:04.880 --> 00:24:08.920 And all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt. 00:24:09.040 --> 00:24:10.980 The famine will consume the land. 00:24:11.320 --> 00:24:15.980 And the plenty will be unknown in the land by reason of the famine that will follow. 00:24:16.380 --> 00:24:18.420 It will be very severe. 00:24:18.420 --> 00:24:24.860 And the doubling of Pharaoh's dream means that this thing is fixed by God. 00:24:25.800 --> 00:24:30.960 And God will shortly bring it to pass. 00:24:31.580 --> 00:24:32.500 Did you catch that? 00:24:33.019 --> 00:24:37.160 The power behind the famine, the calls behind the famine, 00:24:37.380 --> 00:24:42.100 is the God who is sovereign in all things and who has a plan and will accomplish it. 00:24:42.099 --> 00:24:48.399 Fifth, do you see what God is doing here? 00:24:48.480 --> 00:24:53.199 Do you see this theme that's woven into the pages of chapter 42 00:24:53.199 --> 00:24:58.740 that God is pressing these people, his people, 00:24:59.480 --> 00:25:05.019 that are mostly in Canaan, he's pressing them where? 00:25:05.339 --> 00:25:05.959 To Egypt. 00:25:08.039 --> 00:25:10.619 As if God has his finger and he's pushing. 00:25:10.619 --> 00:25:16.039 He's saying, I'm going to do this in your life and you aren't going to have a choice. 00:25:16.419 --> 00:25:20.559 I'm going to cause you to land in the nation of Egypt. 00:25:20.659 --> 00:25:22.679 Now, they don't know how God's going to do that. 00:25:22.779 --> 00:25:25.079 And they don't even know that God's behind it all. 00:25:25.159 --> 00:25:27.019 But the word of God declares he's behind it all. 00:25:28.979 --> 00:25:33.519 And so he sends this famine and he knows there's coming a time when they ain't going to have no food. 00:25:34.419 --> 00:25:37.519 I'm using that South Carolina lingo again. 00:25:37.919 --> 00:25:39.059 They ain't going to have no food. 00:25:39.059 --> 00:25:42.259 And they're Not only a way, he's forcing them to go to Egypt. 00:25:52.859 --> 00:25:53.940 Why would God do that? 00:25:55.359 --> 00:25:57.559 Why do you think God wants them in Egypt? 00:25:58.599 --> 00:25:59.859 What's the big deal with Egypt? 00:26:00.039 --> 00:26:01.519 Well, I don't know. 00:26:01.519 --> 00:26:06.579 Matter of fact, it's kind of hard to figure out why God does what he does. all remember what he said after this dream? 00:26:27.859 --> 00:26:32.939 As the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell on Abram. 00:26:33.479 --> 00:26:36.859 And behold, dreadful and great darkness fell upon him. 00:26:37.240 --> 00:26:38.979 Then the Lord said to Abram, 00:26:39.859 --> 00:26:45.879 Know for certain that your offspring will be sojourners in a land that's not theirs, 00:26:46.439 --> 00:26:49.059 and will be servants there, 00:26:49.539 --> 00:26:53.299 and they will be afflicted for 400 years. 00:26:53.299 --> 00:27:02.419 Do you realize that God already pre-told just a couple of phrases out of 00:29:52.660 --> 00:29:53.339 37. 00:29:56.620 --> 00:30:00.940 It said, the brothers, after he received his coat from his father and he knew that the 00:30:00.940 --> 00:30:05.539 father loved him, said they hated him and could not speak peacefully to him. 00:30:06.160 --> 00:30:09.980 He had a dream and he shared his dream and they hated him even more. 00:30:09.980 --> 00:30:13.860 He said, are you indeed over us? 00:30:14.740 --> 00:30:16.620 Are you going to rule over us? 00:30:17.220 --> 00:30:22.099 And it says they hated him even more for the dreams and for his words. 00:30:22.420 --> 00:30:25.319 And it says his brothers were jealous of him. 00:30:25.319 --> 00:30:34.819 And so as a result of that, he's hated by his brothers and his
