but yet you brought us to a place which met 00:00:47.420 --> 00:00:49.320 our hearts desire. 00:00:49.620 --> 00:00:55.219 It's a beautiful verse reminding us, yes, there are difficulties and saviour we have 00:01:06.659 --> 00:01:08.260 in Christ Jesus. 00:01:08.260 --> 00:01:13.319 As he met with the woman who had been caught in adultery and how he dealt with her in such 00:01:13.319 --> 00:01:16.039 a gracious way, such a gentle way. 00:01:16.040 --> 00:01:21.400 not condoning the sin, but showing such wonderful compassion. 00:01:21.540 --> 00:01:24.160 We saw what a precious saviour we have. 00:01:24.880 --> 00:01:28.080 And this evening I want us to think of the other side of that. 00:01:29.160 --> 00:01:35.140 How does God see us and how we are seen as a precious people? 00:01:35.860 --> 00:01:37.100 That's what we read in verse 4. 00:01:37.099 --> 00:01:50.979 The Bible has a great theme running all the way through it, that theme of redemption, of 00:01:50.979 --> 00:01:53.560 God coming to save his people. 00:01:53.659 --> 00:01:58.000 And we see it in so many different ways as we look through scripture. 00:01:58.719 --> 00:02:04.039 And one of the ways you see it is as you look back to the Old Testament, there's a time when 00:02:04.040 --> 00:02:10.900 you see God making promises to his people, especially you think of Abraham and the covenant promise 00:02:10.900 --> 00:02:11.460 with him. 00:02:12.080 --> 00:02:16.140 And you see all these promises that God has made with his people, but you find that a 00:02:16.140 --> 00:02:18.860 time came when God scattered his people. 00:02:19.560 --> 00:02:24.500 And it speaks about them being scattered to north, south, east and west. 00:02:25.700 --> 00:02:32.000 And then you see in the New Testament, in this chapter by reminding the people of just why they are so precious to him. 00:06:21.199 --> 00:06:23.860 And it takes them to the past. 00:06:24.680 --> 00:06:27.000 He brings them back to the past. 00:06:28.019 --> 00:06:29.439 God has his people. 00:06:30.500 --> 00:06:32.879 And God gives them a status. 00:06:34.199 --> 00:06:35.019 They are his. 00:06:35.699 --> 00:06:36.740 They are before King Nebuchadnezzar. 00:13:20.399 --> 00:13:25.319 Who was demanding that they bow before him as a God. 00:13:26.019 --> 00:13:28.599 That they turn away from their God. 00:13:28.600 --> 00:13:31.120 But what do they say to him? 00:13:31.580 --> 00:13:33.740 Daniel chapter 3 verse 16. 00:13:34.340 --> 00:13:38.080 O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.
