our news screens of innocent children being maimed and killed angers me. 00:03:15.339 --> 00:03:20.959 Bombs and bullets dropped and fired, causing devastation and heartbreak. 00:03:20.960 --> 00:03:29.040 The pictures of communities being destroyed are at times unbearable to watch. 00:03:31.439 --> 00:03:35.319 So what do you hate to see? 00:03:36.000 --> 00:03:39.640 What is detestable to you? 00:03:39.639 --> 00:03:49.819 Well, if we look at chapter 6, wisdom will tell us what is detestable. 00:03:50.639 --> 00:03:52.199 Verse 16. 00:03:52.199 --> 00:03:59.339 There are six things the 00:04:38.959 That the Lord God hates and detests. 00:04:39.699 --> 00:04:44.439 But there's one that stands out above all the rest. 00:04:44.439 --> 00:04:48.259 You see, verse 16 is a way of highlighting something. 00:04:48.420 --> 00:04:57.259 It's like getting your yellow highlighter and marking what is the thing that God detests the most. 00:04:58.220 --> 00:04:59.259 Verse 16. 00:04:59.379 --> 00:05:01.920 There are six things the Lord hates. 00:05:02.959 --> 00:05:06.240 Seven that are detestable to him. 00:05:06.240 --> 00:05:13.240 It's a way of saying that of everything I hate, the most detestable is the sevenths. 00:05:14.439 --> 00:05:16.300 Look at the end of verse 19. 00:05:17.360 --> 00:05:23.259 A person who stirs up conflict in the community. 00:05:24.600 --> 00:06:18.939 In chapter 5, wisdom taught us the dangers of sexual freedom. 00:06:18.939 --> 00:06:25.839 Well, in chapter 6, wisdom teaches us the dangers of conflict. 00:06:27.579 --> 00:06:31.959 Proverbs teaches us that there are campers. 00:06:32.120 --> 00:06:32.860 How many people? 00:06:34.720 --> 00:06:36.199 Two people. 00:06:37.279 --> 00:06:41.839 There are those who go the way of wisdom and the way of folly. 00:06:41.839 --> 00:06:48.519 And wisdom will show us that conflict is dangerous. 00:06:49.479 --> 00:06:53.459 And those who sow seeds of peace are wise. 00:06:54.419 --> 00:06:58.159 So let's look at three things about conflict. 00:06:58.359 --> 00:06:59.459 How it starts. 00:07:00.039 --> 00:07:01.120 How it works. 00:07:01.979 --> 00:07:05.439 And how we can bring Who winks maliciously with his eye. 00:07:33.280 --> 00:07:34.480 Says one thing. 00:07:35.439 --> 00:07:36.519 But means another. 00:07:38.079 --> 00:07:39.660 Signals with his feet. 00:07:39.660 --> 00:09:25.419 --> 00:09:30.539 Adam and Eve turned against God's good and loving rule. 00:09:30.919 --> 00:09:34.120 And it set off a tsunami of chaos and destruction 00:09:34.120 --> 00:09:38.959 that continues to flood and destroy our lives and communities. 00:09:41.039 --> 00:09:43.459 That conflict with God 00:09:43.459 --> 00:09:47.360 ended in conflict with everything else. 00:09:47.839 --> 00:09:50.419 They suffered a conflict within themselves 00:09:50.419 --> 00:09:52.679 filled with shame and guilt. 00:09:52.679 --> 00:09:56.159 They suffered conflict with each other 00:09:56.159 --> 00:10:50.000 --> 00:10:53.080 and one million have been wounded 00:10:53.080 --> 00:10:54.480 in that conflict. 00:10:54.480 --> 00:10:58.779 Men, women and children 00:10:58.779 --> 00:11:01.460 blasted to their death 00:11:01.460 --> 00:11:04.919 because of the seeds of conflict 00:11:04.919 --> 00:11:08.480 that arise within the human heart. 00:11:08.480 --> 00:11:11.960 But we don't have
