00:00:52.680 showing us the remarkable change that had taken place in the life of Paul and how he was to be an instrument in the hand of God. 00:00:53.739 --> 00:00:57.059 And his life was completely transformed. 00:00:57.280 --> 00:01:04.000 And there's a number of different places that we see the power of that transformation that took place in his life. 00:01:04.039 --> 00:01:09.219 In the book of Acts chapter 9, you see there an account of his conversion experience. 00:01:09.219 --> 00:01:14.239 And as Paul is writing his letters to various churches throughout the New Testament, 00:01:15.000 --> 00:01:22.599 we see there him outlining his own experience in life, the wonderful work of grace in his life. 00:01:22.599 --> 00:01:28.619 And the question that it all boils down to is what he was looking at and trusting in. 00:01:29.280 --> 00:01:34.299 And how initially he was trusting in his own righteousness, in his own works. 00:01:34.299 --> 00:01:41.500 But how when the Lord changed his life and opened his eyes and showed him the grace that he had to offer, 00:01:41.500 --> 00:01:48.659 he realized that that counted for nothing compared to knowing Christ Jesus as his Lord. 00:01:49.319 --> 00:01:53.920 And leaning not on himself, but on Christ's righteousness. 00:01:55.039 --> 00:01:58.920 And it's a question again and again we have to ask ourselves. 00:01:58.920 still going to tell us the reality. 00:03:51.000 --> 00:03:54.259 There are so many ways in life that we are examined. 00:03:54.259 --> 00:04:00.679 There are so many things in life that we use that need to be examined to make sure they meet a standard. 00:04:01.759 --> 00:04:09.239 But what about when it comes to ourselves and this other examination that we need to face when we come under God's Word? 00:04:09.699 --> 00:04:15.359 And when that Word examines us, what standard are we at? 00:04:16.099 --> 00:04:19.680 And what standard should we be at? 00:04:19.680 --> 00:04:26.840 Paul, as you see here writing to the Philippians, is going through this process of examination. 00:04:27.879 --> 00:04:32.860 And he's looking at himself and he's looking at what he used to put his confidence in. 00:04:33.699 --> 00:04:37.680 But now he's showing how the Lord has changed that. 00:04:38.240 --> 00:04:44.460 And how the Word of God is so much more probing, so much more deeper than a doctor's asks, well, what are we standing on when it comes to eternity? 00:04:58.620 --> 00:05:02.120 What are we standing on when it comes to our salvation? 00:05:03.319 --> 00:05:04.299 Is it ourselves? 00:05:24.060 So much of our examination of self highlights all that is wrong with us. 00:05:25.060 --> 00:05:31.879 We often look in the mirror and all we'll see is what we see as our faults and our
