--> 00:07:59.339 For Jesus and his ministry. 00:07:59.339 --> 00:08:03.679 And Luke tells us, as we looked last week, that Jesus had sent his disciples out. 00:08:04.179 --> 00:08:05.359 They went on a preaching campaign. 00:08:05.479 --> 00:08:06.979 They were preaching the kingdom of God. 00:08:07.060 --> 00:08:07.599 They were healing. 00:08:07.699 --> 00:08:09.719 They were doing all of these things. 00:08:10.439 --> 00:08:13.139 And no doubt it would have worn them out just a little bit. 00:08:13.539 --> 00:08:14.879 They were exhausted. 00:08:15.439 --> 00:08:19.219 But when we kind of piece this story together from the other gospel accounts, 00:08:19.799 --> 00:08:24.419 Mark reminds us that not only were they telling Jesus what they did, but what they taught. 00:08:24.420 --> 00:08:26.740 And we know this from the life of Christ. 00:08:27.080 --> 00:08:30.140 Not everything they taught and not everything they did, people received it well. 00:08:30.920 --> 00:08:34.360 Yes, 00:10:05.520 --> 00:10:08.160 And some of these disciples originally followed John. 00:10:09.040 --> 00:10:10.460 This wasn't just something they heard. 00:10:10.520 --> 00:10:12.480 It was something just heavy in their life. 00:10:12.480 --> 00:10:14.500 And they had to deal with that. 00:10:14.639 --> 00:10:17.139 And they had to go and they buried John. 00:10:17.220 --> 00:10:19.060 And they came back and they told Christ. 00:10:19.259 --> 00:10:20.740 And just this heaviness. 00:10:20.899 --> 00:10:22.940 There was this excitement of all the things God's doing. 00:10:23.039 --> 00:10:25.920 But the reality is that not everybody's going to be for it. 00:10:26.420 --> 00:10:29.080 And that John was executed for preaching the truth. 00:10:30.539 --> 00:10:33.639 And then John, in his account of this, brings another angle. 00:10:34.360 --> 00:10:38.180 That as they crossed the Sea of Galilee, the crowds kept following. 00:10:38.979 --> 00:10:41.219 Because Jesus says, when you really put it all together, here's the scene. 00:11:02.299 --> 00:11:04.779 The disciples are worn out from ministry. 00:11:04.779 --> 00:11:08.779 And Jesus is grieving the death of John the Baptist. 00:11:09.100 --> 00:11:12.459 And the crowd is pressing in, hungry for more miracles. 00:11:13.600 --> 00:11:16.279 But Jesus says, before we kind of move forward, here's what we need to do. 00:11:29.159 And he's fully divine. 00:11:29.879 --> 00:11:36.259 Hey, the human side of Christ, it felt the weight of the grief and the fatigue and just the busyness of life. 00:11:37.980 --> 00:11:44.279 But being fully divine, being God in the flesh, he was overflowing with compassion for his sheep. 00:11:45.679 --> 00:11:48.379 And listen, there's times where we are involved in be the right kind of co-worker and the right kind of spouse and father and mother. 00:11:55.659 --> 00:11:59.740 But sometimes we just got to find some alone time with the Lord. 00:12:01.000 -->
