I was sick that week. I couldn't make it. I would have loved to turn it in person. 00:01:43.500 --> 00:01:52.859 But the thing that from that that stuck out to me was that he said that this life we live in Christ, 00:01:53.060 --> 00:01:58.159 this is what our lives can and must look like, these verses, this sermon. 00:01:58.859 --> 00:02:02.900 As he points out a lot of things, as he speaks these blessings, 00:02:03.099 --> 00:02:07.879 as he gives all of these practical lessons on these different topics, 00:02:07.879 --> 00:02:12.419 as I kind of like to look at the Sermon on the Mount, is this lesson in practical holiness. 00:02:12.419 --> 00:02:17.219 It's something we can live out on a daily basis as these things that, well, 00:02:17.639 --> 00:02:23.079 all these things may not always be affecting our lives at the same time, 00:02:23.120 --> 00:02:29.599 or these things may never touch us, but he's equipping us and he's giving us the tools to live this out, 00:02:29.900 --> 00:02:32.840 to live this life out that he's calling us to. 00:02:32.840 --> 00:02:37.439 And we see a little bit earlier than this, he just calls his first disciples, 00:02:37.700 --> 00:02:41.379 like right before this, at the end of chapter 4, he calls them. 00:02:41.780 --> 00:02:46.219 And even as we see in Luke, he begins to teach a little bit more after that. 00:02:46.240 --> 00:02:51.439 His disciples are around him, and this is a perfect opportunity for him to bring them in, 00:02:51.520 --> 00:02:57.980 to start to teach them, for them to see what his ministry is going to entail, 00:02:58.080 --> 00:03:01.980 00:03:13.659 but there was something there that made them leave their fishing boats and their tax booths 00:03:13.659 --> 00:03:19.199 to follow this great or good teacher, however they may have thought of him. 00:03:19.199 --> 00:03:26.159 And we see, we don't really see Jesus giving them verses to remember wise. 00:03:26.259 --> 00:03:31.419 We don't see him giving them laws to follow and things like that, 00:03:31.500 --> 00:03:34.799 but he's just saying, follow me, continue to follow me. 00:03:35.620 --> 00:03:37.839 And we can take that example into our lives. 00:03:38.199 -->
