00:08:01.579 He dragged off men and women and committed them to prison. 00:08:01.959 --> 00:08:06.819 So he goes from witness to approver to now the one who's actually the aggressor. 00:08:07.259 --> 00:08:10.339 Who goes into people's homes and drags them out. 00:08:10.379 --> 00:08:14.039 Can you imagine the trauma and the fear of if you decide to follow Christ, 00:08:14.259 --> 00:08:19.939 that any moment Saul and the authorities will come into your home and drag you out and put you into prison. 00:08:20.680 --> 00:08:23.399 And you're wondering, who is this man? 00:08:23.399 --> 00:08:30.199 Of course, if you look at the book of Acts, he only gets this for a chapter. 00:08:30.699 --> 00:08:34.740 And then he himself goes through the most radical transformation. 00:08:35.480 --> 00:08:39.819 But before we get to that, there's actually two weeks where we're going to focus on Acts chapter 8, 00:08:39.939 --> 00:08:46.879 where I find it's just fascinating to see what happens because it goes from a gathering to the scattering. 00:08:46.879 --> 00:08:54.419 Only a few chapters before, Acts chapter 5, verse 11, after Ananias and Sapphira die, 00:08:54.580 --> 00:08:56.019 the whole church was filled with fear. 00:08:56.120 --> 00:08:57.500 The whole gathering was filled with fear. 00:08:57.559 --> 00:08:58.899 That's where that first word comes in. 00:08:59.100 --> 00:09:04.320 And a couple of chapters later, the gathering changes form because it becomes the scattering. 00:09:04.539 --> 00:09:07.980 And we, you and I, are sat here today because --> 00:13:01.200 And they stayed in Jerusalem and they were slow to leave Jerusalem because really they had the upper room, they had the prayer room, they had the gathering. 00:13:01.419 -->
