going to be killed for Christ. 00:02:57.139 --> 00:03:01.800 And so what he's doing in this letter is he's communicating these last words to Timothy. 00:03:02.439 --> 00:03:05.939 Timothy was someone that he sort of was a father in the faith to. 00:03:06.319 --> 00:03:09.759 He was his spiritual father, and he loved Timothy. 00:03:10.099 --> 00:03:12.139 This is a great picture of ministry. 00:03:25.139 And so here Paul has this great love for Timothy, and he calls him his true son, his beloved son. 00:03:25.479 --> 00:03:28.419 And he's investing in Timothy's life. 00:03:28.779 --> 00:03:34.759 And these could be the final words that Timothy might ever hear from Paul. 00:03:34.839 --> 00:03:36.639 So they are important words. 00:03:36.639 --> 00:03:41.419 And he's writing experience scorn or condescending looks from people that you know? 00:05:57.219 --> 00:06:00.259 People that might just look at you and go, oh, you're a Christian. 00:06:01.679 --> 00:06:03.060 It might get worse than that. 00:06:03.139 --> 00:06:04.639 Maybe it is worse than that for you. 00:06:05.359 --> 00:06:09.459 Sometimes in families, if you've come from a family of unbelievers and you
