00:09:08.000 --> 00:09:09.300 What's the purpose of the Red Sea? 00:09:09.980 --> 00:09:11.120 Why are we told this? 00:09:11.460 --> 00:09:15.659 We are told this because this passage, as the whole book of Exodus, 00:09:16.019 --> 00:09:20.879 and in fact the whole Bible, it exists to show us who God is. 00:09:21.820 --> 00:09:24.539 It exists to reveal who Yahweh is. 00:09:24.860 --> 00:09:27.460 Look at me first here at verse 4 of chapter 14. 00:09:27.940 --> 00:09:30.220 And then we'll look at verse 18 of chapter 14. 00:09:30.220 --> 00:09:30.980 So verse 4. 00:09:32.580 --> 00:10:00.680 So that the Egyptians would know who God is. 00:10:00.679 --> 00:10:04.019 Look at me at verse 18, similar thing, or chapter 14. 00:10:04.679 --> 00:10:10.399 The Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I gain glory through Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen. 00:10:11.120 --> 00:10:15.799 And so God does this so that we would know what he is like. 00:10:17.459 --> 00:10:21.620
