00:07:55.240 --> 00:07:57.439 and the house would just grow and spread out. 00:07:57.439 --> 00:08:01.459 But it was all connected to one central room. 00:08:03.279 --> 00:08:05.660 This image that Jesus is using, 00:08:05.860 --> 00:08:09.680 it's a deeply family-oriented image. 00:08:09.680 --> 00:08:13.720 It's a heavenly one that Jesus uses, 00:08:13.780 --> 00:08:16.699 one that surpasses 00:09:06.399 And it's close to God Himself. 00:09:08.279 --> 00:09:10.319 Now, this passage from John 14 00:09:10.319 --> 00:09:14.099 is one of the most common passages read at funerals. 00:09:14.860 00:11:01.199 --> 00:11:03.339 I'm successful because I live in a house 00:11:03.339 --> 00:11:04.299 in the right suburb. 00:11:04.299 --> 00:11:07.699 I'll be valuable and I'll be successful 00:11:07.699 --> 00:11:09.179 when I buy that house, 00:11:09.259 --> 00:11:10.519 when I can live there. 00:11:12.019 --> 00:11:15.500 But the reality for all those who follow Jesus 00:11:15.500 --> 00:11:17.059 is it's that our victory, 00:11:17.419 --> 00:11:18.399 our triumph, 00:11:19.219 --> 00:11:21.139 isn't found in our location 00:11:21.139 --> 00:11:23.839 or the amount of bricks that we own 00:11:23.839 --> 00:11:25.620 stacked on each other, 00:11:26.259 --> 00:11:28.039 but in who owns the house. 00:11:28.039 --> 00:11:31.439 We are valuable not because 00:11:31.439 --> 00:11:33.039 of the things we own, 00:11:33.099 --> 00:11:35.360 but because of the price 00:11:35.360 --> 00:11:36.620 that Jesus has paid. 00:11:37.199 --> 00:11:39.659 So we could come to the
